the more I think about it the less sense it makes.

My guess is they made it 'opt in' to keep the people who didn't *want* it for whatever reason happy, but it doesn't take a power choice. We will be able to slot it at lower levels.

Hopefully, anyway.
Given the specific definition of 'inherent' we have in this game it wouldn't make sense for them to have promoted it the way they have and then make it cost power choices.

I'm glad for the new animations; now I won't have to come up with an explanation for why his power armor lets a fire blast user breath fire.

I'm a touch disappointed all the new content is in the form of Task Forces, though, but I'm willing to cope, I suppose (so long as they're better than Barracuda, at least!).
The new Tips ARE new content.

It may be done a bit like the vet rewards. You have them, but unless you unlock them, you don't get them.

This way, those who didn't like the idea of having swift and/or hurdle can still opt out of having swift/hurdle.

Totally awesome! Can't wait for Praetorian maps and enemies (Especially the enemies)

And seeing Ouroboros that way... Does that mean that Tyrant/Emperor Cole is the herald of the Coming Storm?

to TO THE END!

yah, that sounds right to me- I'll bet that's how it works.

Since they will be available from Level 1 my guess on the Inherent Stamina issss...

At Character creation you get to simply pick what, out of the powers, you want from there fitness pool, so you could just take stamina, you could pick stamina and swiftness or you could take the whole kit and kaboodle.

I'm quite pleased with the alternate animations. What a nice surprise.

I don't know, but it looks like the mysterious Letter Writer may not have been bluffing about the underlined:

Quote:
While time traveling into the past, you visit a 5th Column base and in a crate you find a hand written letter addressed to you...

Hello, Character. Please forgive the impersonal form of communication. I do not yet trust you for an in-person meeting; this was the only way that I could be sure you would still receive this message. Time travel does unpredictable things to electronics, magic and bionetics; otherwise, I would have chosen a more contemporary method. Obviously, we both know that you have begun time traveling. This may be new to you, but for me and mine it is well documented.

Ouroboros has made its presence known to your city, likely espousing some rhetoric regarding a 'rapture' or an 'apocalypse' or some other vague, well-crafted phrase from Mender Silos. I am writing to tell you not to trust him or his Menders. They claim to 'fix' the time stream to avoid a cataclysmic event in the future, but do not believe them. You may not believe me yet, that is fine, prudent in fact, but let me ask you this: if there is truly an event of this nature on the horizon, why did they not take you there? Are you not one of the chosen keepers of the secret? Have you stopped to ask what secret they are really guarding?

I warn you: do not openly question Ouroboros. That would be foolish. I simply ask that you search for more of my letters and seek me in the pillar. When the time is right, I will make myself known. You will either be at my side, tearing down the enclave or you will be buried under its ruins as it falls into the sea. The choice is yours.
A nice bit of continuity, perhaps.

It's probably just the praetorian ouro, not the nonexistent storm, though that does raise the question of who would start oro if Nemesis is not Nemesis there. Maybe time travel led to the dimension becoming praetoria in the first place?

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

I wonder if the zone events are ramped up Public Quests from WAR, Open Missions (is that what they're called?) from Champions Online or Rift encounters from.. Rift: Planes of Telara. I hope so. I rather like stuff like that.

Protest and Syndicate Showdown could be like the Troll rave in Skyway. Granted, no Supatrolls spawning, but maybe if you beatdown enough Syndicate the Boss turns up?

Great Escape? Hmmm, Paladin on the run in Kings Row seems like the most similar content, wonder how they'll do it though, seeing as you can be on opposing sides of the issue at hand.

Given how weird time travel can be, maybe Praetorian Nemesis DID start Ouro there, then some time traveller intervened to ensure that a certain Praetorian-Prussian toymaker never became Nemesis, and Praetorian Ouros only existed from then on as some sort of stable time loop with no apparent origin. It would fit the name "Ouroboros"...

Touche. This is true. And like I said, I'm happy for that. No, really, I am. I love the Tips I've run so far and the fact that there are new ones is, right now, looking to be the best feature on i19's list to me.

I should've said "story-advancing content" or something like that, though I suppose there's nothing that says the new Tips might not involve that as well. It's all semantics, and the bottom line is still a matter of the idea that there's still plenty to be exciting about!

Ouroboros is a place outside the dimensions... or it's own dimension, depending on how you want to verse it... so no reason why Praetorian Ouroboros couldn't be the Praetorian one as well.

Maybe the screenshot is from one of the task forces- where you battle to save Ouroboros from such an incursion...

I stand by the idea of Emperor Cole as the letter-writer, not the coming storm. The coming storm is something bigger than either he or Mender Silos... and both have ulterior motives for their actions.

With fitness being inherent, I how that swift and hurdle get a bi of a boost to make the a little more desirable compared to health and stamina. Now that we don't HAVE to have the prerequisites, it would be a shame to see them tossed aside.

I'll beat Rian_Frostdrake to the one question that just struck me:

No New Costume Pieces Announced?

So, what's taking up Jay's (and others') time? Some theories.
1) New art for the NPC's?
2) New holiday themed costume pieces (Halloween and Christmas) that were meant to go with the fireflies (Halloween) and snow (duh) as new unlockables?
3) An epic month-long tabletop warhammer game in the lunchroom?
4) He's been branching out and trying his hand in other dev roles- most recently supplying the dialog for Ricochet and other lowbie Resistance members.

I, of course, sincerely hope it's #2. I reallllly want a Halloween pack (or of course free in game but I'll take either or!).

It was said a while back (in one of those Q&A sessions I think) that they intended to give players access to a bunch of presently NPC-only costume pieces. He may be working on making them fit player character models.

There's a lot of nice QoL issues resolved in I-19. My only concern is that it continues to make the game easier and easier. That's not really a problem (heck, you can turn on +4/x8 early enough), but since I had to walk twenty miles to play CoH back in the day, in the snow, uphill, both ways, these new whippersnappers won't know how much harder it used to be

I get a kick out of the fact that rather than run from the upper corner of the TI map to Citadel (less than a minute), I'll zone to Ouro, then zone to TI. Can an insta-teleport power to any zone in the universe be far off?

Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html

I wouldn't mind if they did.

However between all the various temps in wents, oroborus, base tps, vet to mission tp, and vip pocket d tp, travel was never an issue.

Is it weird that the thing I got most excited about was all those tentacles?

Anyways, my first reaction to this issue is a massive squeal of glee. Incarnates? Actual endgame content? More Praetorian craziness? The coming storm subplot actually getting advanced? TENTACLES!??! YAAAAAAY!!!

Another thing that interests me is the crystal monster (DE) and those tentacles... HAMIDON!?

Yep I bet you that's the Praetorian Oroborus, since the Hamidon over there looks VERY different than Primal Earth's.

There is a poster in Praetoria that gives you an idea of what it MIGHT look like.
