No Ordinary Family premier
I don't know that I'd call him the meta of the week given that he's attached to the big bad and he'll obviously be around for more. He is nasty though and his power is one that could cause problems for both of the parents.

So they off'ed the female dick. The thing I don't get is - why do these guys follow mom's boss and why are they just robbing banks if he is a ceo at a big company?
They also never showed the perps being arrested - did they have a powered escape plan or what ?
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.
Watched the first half of last night's episode, with my daughter.
We both thought it sucked

So they apparently off'ed the female dick.
Nothing definitive was shown. Still possible she is OK, and now convinced that Powell is worth helping.

well, it seems pretty obvious since the only commonality is the CEO, since the water was a "red herring" ... thought as much anyways, since the family wasn't the only ones ... the company that Stephanie Powell works for, mainly her "boss" is most likely responcible for the powers, maybe useing the family as unknowing test subjects, since he's already in command of atleast one other powered person, maybe a previous successful test
I don't think it is the boss. If he was knowingly responsible for their powers I would think he'd be having the family monitored and would know what Jim is up to. It's not like he and George are being super sneaky right now. And that, in turn, would give him a good starting point for figuring out what happened to the teleporter instead of what his minion has been doing instead.
My money is still on Stephanie's super plant.

ah, good point... not really monitoring them and all, just that's the only common denominator is him, or rather the Lab in general where they both work, but the why would Stephanie Powell (and her family by proximity i'm assumeing) be exposed along with the CEO's henchmen, and not Steph's chipper little side-kick and such ?
I hope somebody writes a continuity bible for the series on how their powers work. Mom is the one who bugged me this week. Last week when she super sped everything seemed frozen around her and to her perceptions she was moving at a normal running speed or possibly even slower. This week her perceptions are normal human speed so she can't avoid collisions, she can't read signs because she passes them too fast, and she can talk on a phone while running hundreds of miles per hour.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
I can't believe nobody has mentioned that she's also a Regen!
Secondary powers ftw.

Both the kids likely would end up doing support stuff later. Given it's ABC they probably won't portray much violence toward them directly. (unlike Heroes which ....well some Cheerleaders didn't get saved.)
I was surprised they took out Detective Cho. I was expecting her possibly work with Jim in the future. Guess we won't have worry about any love triangles between her and Jim forming later.
Lastly don't trust Katie. She's a french spy I tell ya hehe. (bonus to anyone who gets that.)

She was distracted initially because she was looking at her phone instead of the road. She looked up in time to avoid the cyclists and the car, but then turned to look back at them and wasn't paying attention to the direction she was running in, which is why she tripped on that bicycle.
It's like a fighter pilot flying through a canyon deciding to look down at his phone. Bad idea.
And in both episodes time does seem slowed down, but everything around her is also slightly blurred. So that probably doesn't help in the reading of signs.

It's not that she can't avoid collisions, it's that she has trouble if she doesn't actually LOOK at where she's running.

I compare it to Jim finding out a gun fired from close enough to him could break his skin.
As an aside, I really REALLY detest folks who futz with their texting devices while driving.
You can literally SEE them start to weave in their lane while they're reading or texting. It's worse than actually talking on the phone - at least with talking their eyes tend to be actually on the road.

I am wondering if Jim's powers actually have something to do with him seeing it coming. He stopped, well caught, a bullet in the police station while he saw the whole thing happening. He could see the baseballs and George was facing him when he shot him as well. Then he was facing both the cars and the van when he tried to stop them. The only time he was hurt was when he was shot at point blank range in the back of his head.
I am suprised neither Jim nor George has suggested a mask of some kind and I want a lair... with WiFi.
Jim really does need a disguise of some sort if he continues to be a superhero.
I'm not exactly wanting bright spandex colors or anything, maybe something more along the lines of Bruce Willis' character in Unbreakable.
Just enough of a disguise so Cho wouldn't have recognized his broad shoulders and bald head from 50 ft away. Yet still allows him to walk the streets without looking out of place.
Now I'm even more curious as to the origin of power. I lazily assumed it was just the CEO using them as test subjects in the real world. As others have pointed out though, he doesn't seem to be aware of Jim or anything else for that matter. Maybe he is but a puppet in a bigger picture.
Since it wasn't the water, which was a long shot IMO anyways, the natural assumption would be on the flower. Yet all the workers in her lab were handling the specimen... Wait, were they all wearing gloves in that scene?
Hmmm...

Maybe they always had them and the tramatic event of the plane crash released them.
I liked the 'catch a car' training in tonight's episode.
The kids didn't bother me too much.
Meta of the week was just plain nasty.
I'll keep watching.
