issue 20 is going to be entirely devoted to bringing back pwnz forums

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Is the world ready for that yet?

Finally Mastermind Minions will be 'customizable' color wise in the power editor and Epic AT powers will be customizable and Epic AT pools will be available in AE.

By utilizing City of Heroes' current staggering amount of content, revamping the game engine, introducing some new systems and upgrades, City of Heroes 2.0 could be re-launched to the public to compete with other more current MMOs
I like the way you think.

I hope it's that.

If you've ever been on a mission map and run into the 'black wall' bug between sections of the map, that's where they didn't get adjacent tiles lined up just right. And if the devs can't do it reliably with all the tools they have, what kind of utter fewmets do you think that the average CoX player will produce with some cobbled-together map tool?
Didn't get that bug but did get the see the water through a gab in the ground bug in Pretoria. :P

Not that the epic ATs being unlocked at lvl 20 realy qualify as epic anymore. Maybe have ones unlocked at different levels like costume slots.

Issue 20 will add fatalities, but blood will be represented as flowers for Heroes and spiders for Villains, skulls for Vigilantes and playing cards for Rogues.

UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN, Tier 9 power, UP is the spine-rip fatality. You need to be within 2 feet for it to work.

DOWN, FORWARD, BACK, FORWARD, delete 1 salvage, FORWARD causes your character to blow a kiss, making the other character expand then explode.

Not heard about the other moves yet. I know some are map-specific, such as dropping the globe in Atlas Park on your opponent or uppercutting them into the path of a tram.

To use the fatalities you first need to run the incarnate story arc. You have to say "NO" when Statesman asks you to dance in the ballroom then exit/enter twice until Nemesis appears on the map. You then must defeat Nemesis in the 3rd round of the arm wrestling contest (tap <- -> repeatedly) then select Darwin's Bane as your advocate for the debating stage of the competition. If you answer the seven questions correctly (YES, NO, NO, Rikti, Blue Steel, Marketing department) AND correctly select which cup Faathim has hidden the Overseer underneath after his quick switching, then War Witch trades you the fatality medallion for 5 alignment merits and whichever Enhancement you have slotted into Brawl (unless it is a HO/SHO, which she refuses to accept - this is bugged).

Sorry, Nemesis is the second round, not the third. The third is the special zebra-striped Arachnos Flyer (you can lose this round and still get the medallion, but you'll lose 2 costume tokens and 500 Gil).

That's because you quantify 'Epic' as meaning 'Better than'. Epic here means 'Unique Storyline'. Epic a la the Epics of Homer (the Greek, not the Simpson)

While that fails miserably with VEATs, they make up for it by being badass anyway, so...win-win?

Tell me, O Ghost Widow, of that ingenious heroine who travelled far and wide after she had sacked the famous town of Sharkhead. Many city zones did she visit, and many were the archetypes with whose powers and buffs she was acquainted; moreover she suffered much by nerf while trying to rez herself and bring her team safely to the mission exit; but do what she might she could not save her team, for they perished through their own sheer idiocy in aggroing the Mitos of the scary-like Hamidon; so the Hamidon prevented them from ever earning merits. PM me, too, about all these things, O Soldiers of Arachnos, from whatsoever Arcanaville guide you may have added to your internet favourites.

So now all who disconnected in battle or by base teleport had got safely home except Golden Girl, and she, though she was longing to return to her TF and Supergroup, was detained by the Moderator 8, who had muted her in a large thread and wanted to ignore her. But as posts went by, there came a free update when the gods settled that she should go back to blueside; even then, however, when she was among her own alignment, her troubles were not yet over; nevertheless all the Soldiers of Arachnos had now begun to pity her except Lord Recluse, who still one-shotted her without ceasing and would not let her make a Night Widow.

I like how Epic is defined here as unique then used in plural when related to a single subject. The use of quantify is fun too.

Take no notice of me, I've just reached the maxmimum setting on my Boredom-O-Meter, where I begin to channel a mixture of Peter Venkman and River Tam.

Was thinking and wonder if issue 20 has a new power system. For example any player can choose any power from any powerset but at the cost of points. Various ones would cost a certain amount and once you run out that's it, no more powers to obtain.

Well the OP did want to talk about crazy theories.....

ok, my crazy, unsubstantiated theory. space, moon base, maybe space station maybe alien world map too. why? well, in the menders stories, the war-shade one mentions his kind being used to power the storm's ships, plus the seeming link of the storm with shivans indicates that if they were linking the storm with incarnates, that would be the way to go. also, people have asked for space for a long time. For me, im ambivilant, i want a dinosaur island/lost world, but given the possible complexity of making good dinosaur skeletons to animate, my guess would be something space related.

This was a nice dream while it lasted. My Empathy/Radiation Blast defender looked real good with Willpower's Indomitable Will power and wasn't being mezzed each time a baddie looked at her cross-eyed.

Now she can go back to collecting dust.

First thought that came to mind?

Dynamic raid teaming. When in the face of a large force or massive opponent, such as a Rikti Invasion, or Hamidon respectively, each character present is auto-linked to a team for the duration of the event.

While a nice feature, certainly not NDA worthy IMOP, but certainly possible.

Which got me thinking, what else would I like to see that might need such a strong NDA for this game?

Custom power animations? Perhaps, especially if animations are tied to body points such as eyes or fists. Even more so if power animations can be tied to weapons, either hand held, or wrist mounted.
Tie that in with an overhaul of the costume creator, where you could customize eye color, separate left and right hands, arms, and legs for costume piece and color options, power colors, and animations, then you have a hefty, robust change to the game.

Yet, that still not enough for an entire issue. So while the Incarnate alpha slot is supposed to make an appearance, some of the content for the "end game system" should be presented as well.

Now, what about interactive environments throughout the game? Super Strength characters able to pick up a car and throw it instead of the rock toss of hurl (and I'm not talking about customizing the power). If there is no object present, then the default animation is used, but a hole is left in the ground.

Storm characters could use gale to knock cars into mobs for more damage.

The downside would be that such proper destruction would have a subtractive value of inf from the mob defeats in order to "pay" for city repair But it would be interesting to see Clockwork robots in Praetoria going to work to repair a damage sidewalk.

I'm sick and tired of having so much trouble trying to find those darned Christmas gifts - I would like to be able to make them larger so I can find them more easily.

That costume options you mentioned a lot more complex than you realize. They'd have to majorly edit, or even completely remake every single costume peace. And any animation additions would also require serious debugging. Both of that together almost equals the sum total effort of releasing rouge. And if you think I'm wrong just try making a list off all the different costume peaces see how long it takes you. Really I'd like to see you try it'll be funny.

Snicker, that's crazy all right so crazy that the Devs promised us something exsactly like that a very long time ago. Like pre-CoV long ago. This space station zone along with personal bases called apartments are just a few of the things the rest I've long forgotten.
As it stands Pocket D is probably the closest thing we're ever going to get to a space station and the Mission Architect the closest to a personal base.

They've created a method of generating Hard AI that will allow players to interact with NPCs on the same level as they would with each other.

Not really, but that would be flat out awesome.

First off, I know that reading a forum post can make it difficult to ascertain if someone is coming off with an attitude sometimes, but seriously what's up with this:

"And if you thing I'm wring, just try making a list of all the different costume pieces, see how ling it takes you. Really I'd like to see you try, it'll be funny."

Secondly, in i19 they are already releasing secondary animations to many of the ranged attacks, some of which are already along the lines of what I brought up.

I've been around long enough, and read pretty much every post by a dev about how much work is entailed to create an animation and costume piece. By no means am I ignorant in that regard. It still doesn't prevent me from posting said ideas in a thread entitled "Crazy Issue 20 theories", now does it?
