If they could leverage a system towards the base architect too, including setting up NPCs (either as in-base vendors or flavor characters, or for setting up "NPC Base Raids"), it would make such a system more important.

Thanks for posting my crazy idea.

I agree that it would be great if a mission map editor could be used to edit bases. It's something I've brought up from time to time.

Also, while this would be usable by players in MA, the main benefit would be that the DEVS could use it to make new maps in all future content.
That's a good point. If it could also be leveraged as a Dev tool in the same way as the MA, that would be something. As another poster stated, it could also re-vitalize the MA.

In your opinion, what would need an NDA, especially to be kept from the prying eyes of competition?

Well, something like a nemesis/rogues gallery system - or the zone events that are the main bit of the Incarnate system content.

Things that might require a signed NDA

1)Specific details of the Incarnate System and what each slot will do.

2)Nemesis/Archenemy system

3)Signature Powers for PC's (whether through the Incarnate System or otherwise)

4) a awesomely sweet Underwater/Rapture style zone. Many games try to do underwater combat. A really good system for it would be big.

Check if they've replaced BaB with a drooling moron. If not, we're not getting underwater zones.

A Rapture-type zone wouldn't actually be underwater, just a Lab map with occasional ocean-view windows. ...which might be pretty cool, actually, but people would still complain that it's 1) recycled geometry and 2) not actually underwater.

IMO DR along with a buff seems like spinning your wheels. Any DR introduced into PVE would be a horrible mistake. Lets make everything weaker? How could that be good for the game or consistant with the theme of the game?

Lets put out the invention system, give set bonuses, Purple Unique Sets with even better bonuses, Lets put out an incarnate system/Alpha Slot to make your toon more powerful... ok thats done now... Lets introduce DR... !??!?!?!

The single most STUPID IDEA ever if thats what this all is about.. /ragequit

Well this is the crazy I20 idea thread so....

1. Big Red Ball
2. Based on noble savages threads, reworked/higher res versions of older costume pieces.
3. Pool power customization, not just colors but appearances as well, just look at how many teleportation animations there are in Praetoria
4. Update to Blue side buildings and mission maps (mentioned as a maybe in some thread somewhere [don't know where])
5. Zone events/Hamidon encounter/new zone(s) for Praetoria
6. ill jump in with the "coming storm" is coming crowd.
7. Based on another thread by noble savage, more new animations for existing powersets

That's all I can think of

50Soulsunder: DM/Regen Scrapper
50Limitshift: EM/WP Brute
Victoria Nox: Dark/Dark Dominator
And about 5 others that change constantly...

This isn't speculation, but rather just wishful thinking. I kinda hope one of them is listening:

1) Along with power pool customisation, having alternate animations for the pool powers to allow them to coincide with the five origins. For example, a lot of people don't take the medicine pool because it doesn't mesh well for them with either magic or mutant based characters. Being able to choose what animation to use in the power customize screen at the tailor would be a boon to them!

2) Primary and Secondary power mixing and matching. Not that a blaster could take every nuke from every set, mind you! But say if they want Charged Bolts from Electrical Blast as their tier one power, and Power Blast from the Energy Blast set as their tier two, then they'd be able to do it. I, for one, would love to have Electric Fence, Build Up and Power Sink from the Electricity Manipulation set on my Elec/Dev blaster, and still have Targeting Drone and Cloaking Device.

3) (And I pressed the submit button too soon!) A revamp of Paragon City to make it a lot more pretty. Going Rogue has now entirely spoiled us and we've seen what the game is possible of showing us. Paragon City could have a lot better looking and more unique buildings, and the streets could look a lot better than how they appear. The Rogue Isles aren't as bad, but they could probably do with some improvements themselves. Personally, I've always kind of hoped we'd get some iconic buildings for El Super Mexicano, City of Gyros, and Up and Away Burger! Much like that doughnut shop in Faultline!

Like the first two, however, I'd prefer if they revamped the story arcs in Paragon FIRST. Especially for zones that essentially don't have any.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

this.

redoing zones is nice, but its about time for a content revamp instead of just putting a new coat of shinny on old content that i've already run into the ground.

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Correction: An Art-Deco style Lab map! Although if it is a lab you would have a crazy awesome robotic "assistant" of the mad scientist there telling you things like: "You won a battle of wits! AGAINST A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE!", "I know what you want! You want my job! Weeell, do you know what kind of people we used for the Protector program? Criminals! You'd be laughed out of the board room! Laughed out of the City!", or "YOU'RE FIRED!"

But, let's see, finally adding more than one liner of wistful thinking:

-Custom/signature PC powers system

-Base updates, especially if it adds new options beyond just items and so forth but a new interface and how we build and design them.

-PVP fixes. I'm not a PVPer, but this seems like something that could be big.

-Revamp of all old content. This seems highly possible. It wouldn't need new systems, per-say, but it would be HUGE.

-Zone Revamps. Good lord this would be just as big as the previous one depending on how many and which they choose to do.

Yes.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

It was not PEATs on the list, it was misread.

Instead it was Pete's. As in Unlucky Pete. The new EAT is the Lost.

Only we are limited the Scrounger Swordsman, Rifle, and Blaster.

And we can't use Rikti weapons.

Actually from level 30 on you can select Rikti weapon powers and a full Rikti costume slot opens up, but the weapon powers are powered by inspirations. Each activation of a Rikti weapon power consumes one tier of the lowest and right-most inspiration in addition to endurance. Inspirations above tier one are reduced by one tier and tier one inspirations are deleted. If you have no inspirations the weapon powers can't be used.

By utilizing City of Heroes' current staggering amount of content, revamping the game engine, introducing some new systems and upgrades, City of Heroes 2.0 could be re-launched to the public to compete with other more current MMOs
Good theory except that the devs have stated in the past that they don't want to raise the minimum system requirements. And an over hall/serious development of the game engine would do just that.

Though considering the threads that the Devs have started resonantly a major city wide graphics overall wouldn't be out of the question. Overhauling Costume peaces, buildings, pretty much the whole city to be equal to Pretoria and all the new stuff. that sort of thing. That could make the game definable as COH2.

To be honest and reasonable...

1. Base overhauls. Seriously bases need some love as the current options are really just sad. Why do the chairs not fit a single body type? Mostly this can be achieved by adding more items, while a complete overhaul of the entire system would be awsome new items would got a LONG way. This leads me to point two...

2. TRUE PLAYER CREATED CONTENT. Tell me what practicle reason do we have for not being able to build our own maps for AE? The exp gain is already poor enough as is and people will ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO FARM. This may help farming but it will also go a long way in making AE a much better experiences. I mean just use base building as a template and let it roll!

3. I would like them to revist power customization. Why? Because I feel the "dark" option is way to saturated and comes out "muddy." Minor concern really but I just can't get a lot of powers to look right with dark. Plus it would be nice to include PPPs/APPs as well as pool powers.

4. Honest to god PvP changes that take feedback from the community to make it a system worth enjoying with actual rewards. Enough said.

5. Actually storyline improvement in terms of older content, Coming Storm says what? Also PLEASE build more contacts for red side that don't make you the whipping boy/Arachnos. For blue side, give contacts with actual stories! Blue side contacts have a lot of random fluff that really doesn't add to the story or even make sense. Streamline it. Keep building on Praetoria but don't ignore old content for it.

6. More like the CoP. Task that require larger groups are good for the SG dynamic and help to build the need for community. I feel that this games community is far to fractured between the instances, the lack of a reason to play the same characters for long, and the lack of content that requires a decent level of teamwork. Because of it there are very few reasons for SGs in generally and it leaves people using them as alt dumps or just forgetting about it. I want the community to strengthen its bond, not continue to become so insular.

7. More new power sets. Do I need to clarify? I don't care what I give everything that comes out a fair chance but it is always nice to have more.

8. Costume pieces. Seriously....That I don't have to pay for....

9. New Epics. I like the idea of epics. I like how unique they are. I hate the VEAT story arc but I still like the ATs for their flavor. Always a nice touch.

No relation to Arachnos!

Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

Okay, my wild theory for i20 craziness?

- Revamping primal missions to take advantage of the new alignment system. Certain missions will give you the option of a Vigilante or Rogue path that will count as credit towards flipping your alignment (or even change it outright) based on your actions.

For example, A revamped Martial Brass arc might turn the choice to help Amanda Vines (currently only possible by deliberately failing the final mission) into a true moral choice with a seperate "defend the WSPDR building" mission that tilts you towards Rogue for your actions.

Another example might be that a Vigilante doing Madeline Casey's arc might conclude that the most effective way to deal with her being transformed into a soulless minion of the Carnies is to execute her before the process is complete.

- "Spy" missions. True Villains can now journey to Paragon and True Heroes to the Isles under controlled conditions. Then leverage disappearing contacts to put special hero-only contacts into the Rogue Isles and villain-only contacts into Paragon City.

- Targetable civilians in the Rogue Isles (especially during Mayhem missions). Saving Kittens from trees and helping old ladies cross the streets in Paragon.

From what I have gathered from talking to the devs at cons, the tool that they use to assemble tiles into a map isn't ready for the late, late, late timeslot when everyone else is sleeping, much less prime time; they can stick the tiles together, but then have to do a gruntload of editing at the 3D editor level to make sure that all the edges line up right. If you've ever been on a mission map and run into the 'black wall' bug between sections of the map, that's where they didn't get adjacent tiles lined up just right. And if the devs can't do it reliably with all the tools they have, what kind of utter fewmets do you think that the average CoX player will produce with some cobbled-together map tool?
