I noticed this too, but was completely bewildered. I love Kheldians, and Dual Pistols. My Warshade was nothing but fun, and my Peacebringer had a hiccup that a recent respec solved. I've said it before, but my main complaint on Khelds is the slow form-shifting.

Dual Pistols is so flashy and fun that any min/max notions that may creep in to my mind are overcome with "Wow! COOL!".

I'm not against them getting some dev attention, but they seem fine to me. I accept that I may be in a significant minority.

Heh, I was noticing the same thing.

I didn't post ATs that I simply don't enjoy (like blasters and tankers,) just the characters that I love but hate the actual AT/powerset they currently play with. To me, that pretty much comes down to my Kheldian, sadly, who I desperately wanted to love.

It's a shame because my VEAT is fun in a bun!

My Elec/Elec blaster. Electric powers have always been on *my* short list of superpowers i'd like to have... >.> <.< come on, you know you have a list too.

Anyways. I tried 4 different times to make an Elec blaster... the last one i leveled to 50 out of pure spite. I WAS going to make one, no if's, and's or butt's about it. I never play him anymore...

Made an Elec/SR brute. Like him, but it isn't the same IMO as an "iconic" elec blaster type. Also made a Spine/Elec scrapper once i could, intresting combo, love the guy, but can't keep people in my aura of death.. they keep running away... i mean yeah, i'd run too... but still *that's* frustrating, but outside of that, he's a ball to play. (esspecally in big teams where i can go aoe nutz.)

Elec control looks intresting... but i'm not a huge Dom fan, and controllers don't have a secondary for the primary i like. (As in, concept wise. Not gameplay wise.)

I generally can't stand Blasters, but I have lots of character concepts that are best fit by blasters. I've played over 5 of them into the 30s, only to delete them all. I even played Ice/Ice to 50 but then transferred it to another server to make room for other ones on my main server.

So yeah, definitely blasters. Yuck.

I also love my WP/Energy tanker due to his name/costume/concept, but I more or less hate Energy Melee now (since the nerf) and I just cant enjoy him anymore.

I also have the same issue with several Super Strength characters. I love their concept, and in fact Super Strength is one of my favorite super powers conceptually. However, I LOATHE the Rage Crash. It sickens and angers me. I hate crash powers like the plague, and the only thing worse than a HP/END crash is a zero damage crash where you can still waste endurance if you dont realize you've crashed. And I never realize. HATE IT.

I hate super strength so bad, but I am so stubborn. I've deleted a level 40+ Ice/SS tanker TWICE (once at level 40, once at level 41 i think). I deleted a level 41 WP/SS tanker. I deleted a Fire/SS tanker (I forget what level). I kept my level 40 SS/Elec brute, but only barely cause I like the concept. And I liked all their concepts, loved them even, but I hate Rage and Super Strength and I needed slots so I eventually whacked all my SS characters on my main server.

I'm sure I could think of more but this will do.

My namesake spines/regen scrapper. Playing him makes me sad because he was my first character ever, and suffered heavily after the nerfs.

After a year and change, he's still level 26 because I hate playing a Sonic/Mental blaster. I hate the sonic blast set and I'm not thrilled with the mental set either. Nor the way they play together. I could switch out the secondary but that won't make me like Sonic more. And don't get me started on the Sonic defense set with those stupid waveform bubbles so rolling him as a Defender/Controller is out.

I won't delete him though... someday I'm going to push through and level him up. Maybe.
Had one of those and deleted him . Nice concept but I agree both sets did not work well together

For me, my worst would be Lost Ninja my level 50 DM/Regen Scrapper. The character I have based my entire online identity around since the mid 30s in game. And the character that I never play because regen (mostly) is so unrelentingly dire.

Now it could be a case of rose tinted spectacles having created LN way back in i3 (shortly before i4) whenever I play her I'm reminded of how good regen once was, or maybe it's just that there are so many better secondaries now.

I had a BS/regen created around an issue prior to CoV (i5?) who I loved up until her mid 30s and played until her mid forties. She's now level 7 and stalled but with a different 2ndary. Again I loved her back story (about 8 pages of A4), I loved her look and name but hated regen.

As for anything else, loathe VEATs, dislike HEATs and can't seem to get anywhere with tankers.

I'll throw another nod toward my warshade Melcor.

He looks awesome. He has moments of insanely beautiful carnage. Sadly, it's usually only on teams that this occurs and we all know how often I team.

I keep wanting to casually purple him out, but every time I log him on I'll find myself standing still in the middle of a mission wondering what the point would be.

Be well, people of CoH.

I never got to taste the toggle that was Instant Healing. It may be one of my CoH regrets. But now with Spines/Regen, I just end up thinking "Oh hell I'm taking damage and Reconstruction isn't recharged kick in healing, kick in healing." At lower levels, and even later on Intergration doesn't feel like it's added much for combat regen.

Wow, so I'm not the only person in the world that hates Sonic Blast. Good to know. Anemic AoE damage plus the sounds... those sounds. I've tried it about six times and abandoned all of them.

For me, the main problem character is my MA/Regen Scrapper, Erica Strauss. I just can't do MA. I need AoE. Also An'chai, my Energy/Energy blaster. Yeah, I can fly around and position myself to knockback into walls to control it... or I could just play any of my other blasters and not have my secondary effect be detrimental unless I go out of my way to compensate for it.

i had a dual blades/nin stalker..his costume is great, his bio rocks in a gloomy emo sense, the swords Look amazing db animations look amazing...but im really not of a mindset for playing a stalker..im working at it, i think i'll get there, but i am not a patient man, not even remotely.

as for dual pistols, i am seeing one of the issues is tha the animations do give the set a weird feeling of flow, you do feel like you stand around a lot, given how perfectly km flows, dp does have a "feel" issue. im getting better with it, i have a dp/pain corr and on groups he is very strong, but solo..its a definite feel issue.

i also have sapph's issue with mm's, i want to be the fighter, not standing back directing the fighters. my style is really kind of set with brutes, doms and scrappers, and maybe some blasters. attack, attack and attack. i do play defs and controllers, but they are mostly when i can find a pug only.

I love my Mind/Psi Dom and my Mind/Sonic Controller, but the Mind Control set always feels like such a chore to me.

Blasters in general. It's not a lack of damage on my DP/MM that bothers me, it's that I don't see the toon as being so squishie.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my concept and name of my Demon/Dark Miasma MM. She's not summoning demons, she's bringing forth nightmares...however, the playstyle of a MM just isn't me.

Kheldians, it's not the knockback...it's not the losing the outfit when in crab or squid form...it's the lack of slots!

I want the ability to actually play in all three forms, without feeling like I'm hampering one form to make the others work.

I think all I'd need to enjoy Kheldians, is to have all the attacks for Drawf and Nova forms, to be automatically six-slotted, and I can use my level up slots to place in human form powers and Drawf and Nova Form.

If that ever happens, I think I can actually enjoy playing a Kheldian. As it is, I feel the need to stay a human form only Kheldian, and then it just ruins the AT for me.

My brute, Sideshow Suzy, who won't be complete until I get the carnie mallet unlocked. That's just SO far away that leveling her to "completion" seems like such a chore, and there ain't no way I'll find a team to go farm carnies. Thus, she sits neglected.

Ditto my storm corruptor, Tornadocane. Idunno why, I'm just not feeling him.

My Dark/Dark brute, excellent concept and a primary foe in one of my hero's rogue's gallery, but just an utter chore to play.

Also, my DB/ElA brute, Grav/Psi dom, fire/fire blaster, cold/cold def, WP/Axe tanker, Nin/Storm MM, AR/Rad corr, PB, WS, Crab Spider, Elec/NRG dom, kat/FA scrapper, and a claw/nin stalker that I played around with at level 1, realized I hated playing a stalker but never could bear to actually delete him.

My BS/SR scrapper, ill/kin troller, bot/trap MM, DP/Ment blaster, Fortunata, and DS/Therm MM have all been fun to play and good concepts though.

Despite loving DP in beta, I keep finding myself feeling 'bleh' about it now. I love the animations for it, it's just...for all the coolness the damage feels subpar. Statistically, its not. Most of the powers are on par with other sets. So...why it feels meh is beyond me. Maybe it is the animation time. I know my Fire/Fire blaster is a bad comparison, because Fire costs more endurance and does an insane ammount of damage...but even though it has the simple animations, just the sheer ammount of me screaming 'Let the bodies hit the floor!' in my head, followed by it actually happening is...well, unbeatable.

SS/WP at level 36-ish on my Brute as well is....annoying. He was fun, I know that. He should be fun. Yet I find myself getting curbstomped far, far too often, for no visible reason. And whats worse is that my main VG has an SS/WP juggernaught in it, who's name is used as a byword for 'Insanely high casualty figures'.

In contrast to other peoples posts, my VEATs and HEATs all do well. Yes, I hate the lack of mez shield on human Kheldians, and hate the mediocrity of Dwarf forms damage. The fact that it STILL doesnt actually do much for my resistances just adds insult to injury; ALL it is good at is mez protection, which really makes me question the power logic on that one.
But my human-only PB is still fun to hit with and RP. My Warshade is temperamental at times, but when he hits his stride he's an absolute monster who lives up to the name of 'Nightwalker'.
My VEATs are just...sorry, there were mobs in this map? Oh, right, sorry. I though they were cannon fodder Well, I got that right anyway.

Empathy/Radiation Blast Defender. If I didn't think he had the perfect name, with a pretty good look, considering the difficulty of making a character look like a monkey, topped off with a great concept...well, like many mentioned in this thread, he languishes ever dusty. I just...can't bring myself to delete him.

What's worse, it's probably not him, it's me! I solo and duo almost exclusively these days and for the past couple of years - I might have joined a team with him on maybe 4, maybe 5 occasions in all that time. And if there's a powerset that screams "GET ME ON A TEAM!!!" more than Empathy, I've yet to come across it.

Someday, Doc, someday, I'll stop being withdrawn and then you'll be the belle of the ball. Well, not the belle...beau?

My Mind/Empathy controller. From concept to personality (Roleplayer, from the "interactive writing/improv" perspective, FWIW ) I LOVED her. I couldn't play her though because I found that the second I joined a team, they all went "WOOT HEALZOR!" and split off in seven different directions, expecting me to keep them all alive with my mighty, TO-slotted heals.

I miss that character so much, but I just can't tolerate the stupidity magnet that is /Emp >_>

The other one is my DM/Regen scrapper. Every time I play her, I feel like she's just not bringing as much to the table as other sets for too little in return.

This may be part of my problem with my DM/Regen. I made her in early I3. I once tanked Eochai, to a HUGE group of stunned onlookers as I just beat the guy senseless with impunity between ToF and IH.

The repeated Regen nerfs coupled with ED just sucked the fun right out of her, to the point that being a ST-heavy Primary on top of the secondary feels... kind of bland next to the likes of IOed out Foot Stomp, Lightning Rod, Shield Charge, etc.

Eclipse Adept, my Dark/Dark Defender. I just really hate Dark Blast, I've come to realize. He's even 31, just shy of Fluffy. Haven't deleted him yet because he was one of the original Isolators, a long running Victory Wednesday night group thing, and I haven't needed the space. My Force Field / Psychic Defender is also kinda painful to play.

Any Illusion controller. I've got a few I loved the concepts on. HATE the set.
Same with VEATs. Few that would work nicely, concept wise. Cannot stand playing them. Especially the exceptionally irritating "Must slog to 24 before you can actually be what you rolled in the first place."
If I have my sound on or headphones on, sonic blast.

Red Strela, my TA/Archery Defender. Can't manage to solo successfully.

My 31-or-so FF/DP defender. This may be related to being DP but wow, what an anemic character!

Personally, I'm guessing it's the Defender class (she's my first to get past 10th) and the fact I normally only play redside where everyone has damage potential.

If GR hadn't come along, I might have been able to stick to her and keep leveling, but I now have a stable of like 5 new toons (dom, scrapper, stalker, tank&brute-also a first for me), all of whom are much more exciting to me to play.

Wow. So much hate for DP and Kheldians. I don't get it. My DP/elec(who only has 4 powers from elec) was such a blast to play that I got her to 50 in a day short of a month's play, and that was mostly normal play, but did include a 2x xp weekend I believe. She's now IO'd out nearly completely and one of my most powerful builds. My Human-only PB was a bit slow getting up to the 30's, but then he really took off and he's still enjoyable at 50. My tri-form WS crept up to 20 slowly, but then blossomed a bit and shot up to the mid-30s where she sat waiting for GR, now she's 37 and I'm enjoying playing her again (although it's been hard for me the past two weeks playing villain content for personal reasons).

Thinking about it, I don't really have any toons that I love, but hate playing. I have a bit of a problem with the Empathy powerset, but that's because it's not really empathy (which would be rather hard to actually turn into a combat-worthy powerset if you stick to what empathy is). Well, actually, I suppose I could say that any toon that isn't on my home server is a toon that I love, but hate playing. But that's due to being so far away from my friends that I've made on Guardian, not anything to do with their powersets.

My Necro/Poison mastermind, "Silent Seth" is a character I like a lot. He's a tortured youth (literally! Yuk yuk) who used his toxins to escape imprisionment, and necromancy to reanimate those he revenged himself on...

But poison. Oy, poison. It has such great powers, and then some that just aggravate me. Not because the set's bad, but because it's got a few powers that while fun in concept, are overly reduced to impotency in practice. (Poison trap, noxious gas I'm looking at you.)

As the pets are squishy enough as is, the lack of mitigation from poison feels restricting. He's still great as an extra team member, but my goodness, he's got his rough spots. --And those roughspots are the exact ones that would be fixed if two certain two powers were fixed, giving some better (though still limited) AoE mitigation/debuffage.

I have a RP character that for me was great in concept but difficult to solo.

First I took World Weekly News' bat-boy, turned him into a wolf-boy/teen and made him a sonic defender. For his secondary I decided that his outfit is designed to harvest and store the static electricity generated by it rubbing against his fur while he moves. He wears a pair of gauntlets that allow him to discharge electrical blasts at his foes.

Had a nice big bio written up. He's Romani, his English is so-so but understandable. Thinks he's a big star due to his tabloid and TV exposure. He's pretty fun to RP.

He played great at the lower levels but when he got into the low 20s he became a debt magnet. Has the toughest time defeating mobs even at the lowest difficulty setting. Playing him after playing any of my blaster, scrapper or even my controller characters is like pulling teeth.
