Abandoning the Rogue Isles.
I actually expected way more folks to say they were moving to, or staying blue. Although this probably does not represent the player population as a whole, I more expected redside to get emptied out.

Kai-Lian, Erica Strauss: hero->vigilante.
Freelance Rose, Silverbuilt, Entropy Dagger: villain->rogue.
Scrap Dragon: villain->hero.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Most of my toons are staying put although I am moving a Fortunata to blueside and a dp/dev blaster to red...then maybe back to blue(he's a tormented type). I am creating a few new toons in Praetoria who will split between each side though. |
I'm taking one Brute to Blue side once Brutes get Martial Arts or Broadsword. It's a concept toon.
Otherwise I'm taking a couple heroes to Red side and have a couple that are going to be floaters in between. That's it.

Most of mine will be moving to blue, because I never really was all that comfortable playing villains anyway, so a lot of mine were waiting for their opportunity to come in from the cold, as it were.
...that's an impressive run-on.
Dawncaller - The Circle of Dawn
Too many blasted alts to list, but all on Virtue.
I wouldn't have emptied a side based on markets, even more the merger was announced. I also wouldn't empty a side based on one being 'obviously better'... I like them both.
On a character by character basis, I'll decide whose backstory lines up with switching sides, and switch those characters. The only characters I'm even considering going against their backstories to switch are my main badge hunters, and I doubt they'd do more than just take a quick peek into the grey and then go back. (My main badge hunters just happen to be a very solid hero and a quite solid villain, so I wouldn't be likely to switch them otherwise.)
Also, I know people who much prefer redside and are probably more likely to take everyone to the Rogue Isles than to Paragon.

I'm moving my Villain to experience a very specific arc and see a very specific scene. After that, I'm going back to Redside.
Villains, yo.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
You guys realize that khedlians and soldiers of arachnos cannot switch sides right?
I think in reality not many will actually swtch becuase of the amount of missions you will need to run to switch. Imagine doing that for 12 characters and 8 of them you rarely if ever play.
I do think red side activity will diminish. Imagine the poor guy or gal who makes a villain after Going Rogue hits and they are the only one in mercy isle...
i plan on moving my ninja/ta mm to hero as well as my night widow. why becuase its apart of thier own arc. also because im more of a hero player then villian.
i also plan on making a nutral mm/dark mm then move it to heroside.

As for me, I'll be making quite a few of my big SF-friendly toons go rogue, then a few heroes go evil. The rest will stay red, where the fluff/repititious missions are low, the travel is easy, and the arcs concise. I can enjoy the task forces, especially new ones. I find a lot of the blue story arcs, especially the old ones, hard to slog through. My badger may do just that, and it will feel like work.
Where to now?

i plan on bringing my mastermind to paragon...not sure what else..i just know whats first!
I'll probably move a few toons from red to blue, but certainly not all of them. I'll also probably move a toon or two the other way, but not as many.
(Sometimes, I wish there could be a Dev thumbs up button for quality posts, because you pretty much nailed it.) -- Ghost Falcon
I think I have 4 planned red -> blue, 1 blue -> red
Also, around 4 red-siders are getting rerolled as Praetorians.
Market Merger probably reduced that number for me somewhat, but I still plan to move some to blueside.

I'll be moving ALL of my villains heroside. Some may become Vigilantes, but I will not venture over the the Rogue Isles again.
I love the villain AT's but I grew tired of the villain zones and missions quickly. I kept trying to get into the whole 'vibe' of villains, I just can't play there any longer, and population has nothing to do with it. Nor does the current market situation play into it, especially since with i18/GR the markets will be merged.
My problem is simply the 'story' of the Isles themselves. Staring at the same zone for 10 levels at a time was boring as sin and the missions were not my cup of tea. :shrug:
I know I'm likely in the minority but we all enjoy different things.
There seem to be plenty of people who will say goodbye to heroside to take up residence in the Isles, so I think the population may finally even out.
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
My main hero will go to the other side to get badges, then back to hero. Same with my main villain. Other than that, all current toons will probably go vig or rogue so I can run them on either side.

I think, that with GR, both sides will see an increase in population. The Vigilante's and Rogues being able to cross to both sides and team with others will get more groups going post level 20. I know for a fact that the majority of my toons will not stay true to one side with out a pretty good reason, and a badge/accolade is not worth it.
My plan was always to make a KM Stalker in Praetoria and send him Blue side. And most of my Heroes will turn Vigilante while all of my Villains will become Rogues
I want to see as much of the content from BOTH sides with as many toons as I can
There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
Ooooh yea. I will never play in the rogue isles again.
I have always hated the dark and the gloom of cov.

Abandon Redside? No way.
I like having my contacts and story arcs in the same zone (with a few "go back to Mercy..." exceptions, but still).
I like for my contacts to give me thier cell numbers before the arc is over.
As much as I hate Nerva, I still hate Indy Port.
I only have two redsiders moving about. 1 to go blue and one to go rogue-ish.
My bluesiders will likely stay blue.
