Quote:Dev Defense Force - I like that. 3 come to mind.Agreed, but that cuts both ways. The Dev Defence Force (they know who they are) are at least as one sided in their defence of the new system as those who dislike it are in their criticisms.
Also, when "an increasing segment of the population" is reacting this strongly, that's usually a sign that there's a genuine cause for concern.
A lot of this comes back to development time. I'm pretty sure we were told that Going Rogue would see the start of the endgame system, but now it's been pushed back to I19, I20 and so on. If most of this had been released with GR I doubt we'd be seeing this reaction. As it is we're looking at 2012 for this to be 'finished', although endgame, by its nature and contrary to its name, is never really finished. -
Believe me, I am skeptical of the path they are taking with the content. I think Praetoria did not deliver like it could have. I have concerns that this is not going to be the success they envision. I like the game but I do not participate in parts I do not enjoy.
-
It is funny to see the fanboi responses. The structure of the game is changing. It happens in every game. It will continue to happen. When it becomes less fun for people, they will leave. The real question will be if the "end game" causes more people to leave than join.
-
I too am not a fan of raid content. I do not beta test so I am waiting patiently to see how the next phase is rolled out. If it becomes a neccesity, then I will have to decide whether the game still holds the same enjoyment to keep me playing.
-
As far as I can tell from playing this game, there is little reason to hope for because SGs are not part of the "core" game if you will just like PvP and M/A. Becuase they are not integral to the game they will continue to go unloved because it is not paying the bills.

I find Red side more annoying than more difficult. I include dingy in the annoying part as well.

I vote Broadsword. I haven't had the chance to try a solo ITF, but duo ITF was no problem with my BS/DA.

Quote:It isn't only older/lower end machines. I can see the frame rate drop and my system is a dual core 2.6 gigahertz/ 8 gig or ram and I have a new geforce card (I foget the number off hand) with a 1 gig of ram built in.I can verify that this is not correct. Neither my wife nor I engage any UM settings (everything UM tried to turn on, we turned off due to the age/specs of our systems), world graphic settings are turned way down, and the lag associated with that room is still substantial. The two people we team with most often experience the same problem.
The room contains too many objects and is not optimized at a design level for older/lower-end machines. It's flat-out too much to render, and reminds me of the "layers of Grandville" problem (which never affected even my low-end machines all that much) shoved into a room-sized box, with the lighting turned up to 11.
This will just remain one piece of shoddy work that will not get fixed. Sadly if this is in I20 as part of the trial, that will be very disappointing indeed. -
Yeah they did a poor job with the warehouses. I leave the mission and auto complete. If i get two in a row, i log o another character.
-
If this wasn't on Virtue, something simliar was happening last night, I caught two lines of drama between mission 1 and mission 2 of my ITF.
As an aside, my 5 year old plays with. I bring her on task forces and everyone I run across has been cool with it. Then again back in my EQ days, one of the best raid healers we had was an 11 year old girl. -
Recently I have taken up a new in game hobby. I have come across several people I know that for what ever reason wanted small boosts of exp such as to get a level or two so they can equip SOs or get into range of the WTF.
I can help and I do help. Send me a tell and if I am free, I will lend a hand.
All of the above are done without the need to exploit and well within the rules of risk vs reward. -
Non-imflammatory post incoming:
I am sure most people who are in the channel view it as a resource to potential TFs. I am in several channels with maybe 2 perhaps that I consider a home channel.
I have yet to run a TF advertised in speed club, but I do watch and I am sure sometime when the time fits my schedule I will. As I generally do not run my TFs at speed, I tend not to advertise them in the speed channels. -

Quote:Thank you for the invite to the channel.I would say most of us prefer to complete the TF as fast as possible for more
reward merits or incarnate salvage or HO's.
This is not a form of bragging, we are trying to promote it so we can get the
people who like to speed through TF's into the channel and have easy access
to a group of people who enjoy it. -
World Beater should be +4/X8....
I echo the Crab, Fortunta and the Warshade for the ranged capable. I will mention Dark/Dark Defender can as well. -
It seems like they changed something with Maelstrom. I have run into the scenario where I killed everything and went looking for him. I couldn't find him and as I contemplated sending in a bug report guess what happens... He walked up to me.
Other times he is just standing like he should. -
This thread definitely makes me want to make a Dark Armor tanker. I already have the high end scrapper version. This thread and the other DA thread also make me think I should form an All DA TF soon...

Quote:Yeah I am sure by using that metric all the games can make silly exagerations of levels worth of content above and beyond the level cap. My two comments were meant to improve the list. I think using the semantics to justify the statement does not do anything to highlight the game, it merely becomes a measure of stretching and puffery where none are necessary.I actually think 120 levels WORTH OF CONTENT (different than actual levels) is conservative since there is more content at each level than you can do without turning off experience.
But I assume that is true on any MMO so I'm not sure how unique to COH that would be on any game that's been around a few years. -
I would change realms to faction it might be clearer that way.
Also there is not 120 levels, yes I know you are doing 50 hero 50 villain and 20 Praetoria, there are only 50. -
On Virtue, my recent acquisitions include:
Cosmic Forge
Glaical Phantom
Deadly Species
Prairie Storm
Pinktastic
Savage Nomad -
Forgive me if someone already pointed this out but Ghost Widows heal only heals of those infront of her. The fight is much easier when the rest hit her from the back...
-
Pretty cool.
One of these days I will have to get around to trying this. -
What do you think the chance of getting some of the stickied posted unsticked would be? Some of the seem to be of no value. For example, virtue stablity issues...
