You cant get a response on a forum, what chance you got of someone jetting in for the meet

I've emailed Avatea through the forum a few days ago, but so far no response

I hate to sound cynical but if there was an official presence at an event outside of the US, I would do The Underpants Dance down the local highstreet while wearing a bucket on my head.

Cool, that would make it just like the Omega Sektor meet then. Kall, can you arrange to have a security guard bust into the toilets while Dante is using them too, just so he feels doubly at home!

BTW, I'll be there.

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll find some equally awful way to make an *** of myself, it is an innate talent after all.

They probably wouldn't dare show their faces cuz they'd have to answer pertinent questions then and that simply wouldn't do

Sure we can. You've booked a hotel, which implies you don't intend to have an all-night LAN deathmatch session or something.

In your dreams, I'll still be there with all the days that never came.
And I'll be just a story.
That's ok, we're all stories in the end...

I'm about two hours away on the train and I have the time off to go. Just need to sort a place to stay. So what kind of hours are we talking about here?

EDIT - and I can also bring my laptop.

The centre opens at 10am on the Saturday, and will be open till Sunday night.. So, depends on when you fancy coming along I'm probably just going to be there 10am till 5pm both days, depending on how my health is holding up. If necessary I can always game from my hotel room and annoy everyone from there

I've still not heard back from the powers that be regarding any planned TF type events for an all nighter (the place is open all Saturday night), but as soon as I do I'll post details on here.

Consider me a definite "maybe"!

Junior will have started Uni by then, so not sure if he will be available / interested.

All I need to do now is arrange some meetings in Birmingham on the Friday, and that will get the travel costs covered by work

I would love to come.

Unfortunately it would involve taking two days off work (which I can't do) and either an 8 hour drive or an 11 hour and hideously expensive train journey.

Hope you all have fun!

Ohhh !!

will have to sweet talk Mrs CK into letting me go,txting Qui-Qong as well .
Gamma Base was in attendance at Omega Sektor so it would be great to attend another event and brum /Nottingham are only up the road ish for me.

BTW i will be back in game some time next week after a month off line with moving house /decorating etc .( on a laptop atm borrowed from a relative we are staying with atm).

Any idea how I go about changing the thread title? It could do with being "The Unofficial EU/UK Birmingham Player Meet" or something seeing as it's now been organised... :S

You're best bet is to send a message to one of the mods... not sure who's doing the job these days, but pick a red name and go for it.

Not sure, maybe PM the mods ?

One thing I discovered recently that may be of use to others (I've already PMd Zortel with this).

If you're looking at a longish train journey with at least one change in it, try booking it in parts, it may be a lot cheaper. (I used trainline.co.uk)

eg: Norwich -> Birmingham = £65.90 return

Norwich-> Peterborough and Peterborough -> Birmingham returns, 4 advance single tickets can be done for £20 total for that weekend.

Ok, put me down for attending!

Bringing the girlfriend aswel but she's going to go shopping and visit spas and such like.

I'll be driving down from Inverness most likely early on the Saturday and staying 2 nights me thinks. Havn't booked a hotel yet but ill do that later in the week!

If Anyone is stuck and lives not too far from the A9->M73/74->M6 I cann see what I can do about a lift maybe.
