From what they said at PAX East, the Incarnate system is in two parts - slots to give us more power, and content for us to use the power on - GR was going to give us one slot, but no content to use it on.
Ive been saying his and everyone says I am wrong that the system didnt work and that the system is messed up and there are massive bugs.

Tomorrow starts the loyalty program CB so maybe the Alpha slot is still there and I can see what it looks like because I for one want to know how boring it was.

If it's been removed form GR, then I don't see what point there would be in leaving it in the beta - it'd just distract people from testing the actual features that are included in GR.

Hm, perhaps unlocking the Alpha/Going Incarnate should mean that Enhancement Diversification for that character is now.....deactivated?

Not that we get a ton of new arcs every issue, but still, it's usually hand crafted stuff when we get it.

I don't really see why they'd lower the bar for a paid expansion.
It just seems a lot of missions, and I'm expecting that GR has some sort of scanner missions. I didnt mean to say all the missions would be like paper/radio ones either, just that I hope the bulk of that '100s' isnt including them.

100's of story missions is a lot. Though with my recent expereices with the lawyer language the City staff used with the preorder and how the wording about no others incentives for prepurchase means this 'style' of presenting information that it may only be 201 missions to be called 100's. But though thats another rant, its part of the casue and effect of why I will always doubt what city staff appear to say without running it through the lawyer translation program.

Anyway I don't see why you would not include those types of missions when making a statement like 'there will be 100's of missions'. I don't see anything bad in including those types of missions in that statement.

But CG like normal hasnt shown her source of info (or more openly admiting she is in cb or whatever), and why bother to search out the exact thing said, as it will turn out that people will say (much like in this thread) it wasnt anything offically said, as was only said in a forum address, was only mentioned in a video etc.

I don't remember where I saw it, but WW did say that. GG's statement is a little over the top, though. GG didn't actually say that the tip missions and 1-20 were the ONLY missions that made up those 100s, but she heavily implied it with her usual "state everything as an absolute fact" style. It may or may not be true. If I could find the statement, I doubt it was anywhere as absolute as GG portrays it as.

Welcome to all advertising ever. Caveat emptor.

Yeah, that frustrated me too, as I pre-ordered with the 'reassurance' that I would not miss anything if I did. Of course, I think they see the enhancements as 'not part of Going Rogue' or the 'booster pack', but a merchandiser exclusive pre-order bonus, so alas, in their minds, you're not missing anything. Still, frustrating as a customer. But live and learn. Just means I'm not going to pre-order, if that situation ever comes up again.

Yep, it's advertising. Make it seem as appealing as possible. What I thought when I read hundreds of new missions is a few new story arcs and hundreds of new 'randomly generated combinations of different maps, objectives, and mobs' (ala mostly 'new' missions created like newspaper missions).

Ya it's not bad at all, but don't mistake hundreds of missions for hundreds of arcs. 100-200 missions really isn't that much content.

Hundreds of missions in a game like fallout 3 would indeed be tremendous. Lots of them take like 2-3 min in this game, so you'll find you go through the stack pretty quickly depending on how you play.

I've been gone awhile, but still, i'll reply.

if the devs are reading this thread then they must have wished that they had never even mentioned the Alpha Incarnate slot and should have just kept it in the closed beta.

regardless of the posts and other conversations, it was never an "official" part of GR (ie website announcement) and although it is sad that its taken out and that so many of you are so mad about it, i bet posi and his team are working as hard as they can on it already. it would have been much better if they just said it was coming and they were actively working on it and not pinned even a preview to GR.

i bet it took a lot of effort to work out the technical issues with side switching, the market merge, new mission tech, etc. and hopefully their time can now be focused on new content, both in terms of 20-50 content for praetoria and 50+ content for Incarnates.

2 cents from someone who just came back for GR.

But then instead of people being mad that it didn't come out when they said, they would be mad that it didn't come out when the WANTED. A lot of people regardless would have assumed it was coming out with GR and would have been mad if it didn't... Oh well... Can't please everyone!

I think looking through the comments, I got to it first...Nerf'd (Alpha Slot) - Future action seen! How about a First and Secondary Power respec...I would love to be able to change the powers of my MM. I would even pay $5.00 dollars for this to be brought into effect over an...Alpha Slot!!

I could be wrong Purge, but I don't think we will ever see a Power Set Respec option. I can remember a few months back reading a red name post that basically said they would never entertain such a thing. But then again, the market merge was never going to happen either so who know. Btw, my "Search Fu" sucks, but if I can find the post again, I'll edit this post and set up a link to it.

The devs never said anything about the market merge never happening. Posi at one point said it was unlikely to happen while the blue and red side economies were so imbalanced...but that's the closest it ever got.

Powerset Respecification is one of the few things that actually *has* been said to never happen. Power Customization, Market Merger, and all the other things people often quote as "They said it would never happen but here it is!" were all said to be "unlikely" or "very difficult" or the like...but were never said to "never happen".

I apologize, I just looked it up and I did miss-quote them. But you have to admit in reading the comments made, it is pretty easy to draw the conclusion that they were alluding a market merge never happening. Along came side switching and Praetoria and that almost forced them to merge markets to keep a three way balance through out the game.

As for being able to change your power sets. It has been said it will never happen and so far I can not find anything that would cause them to change their minds other than a major change in the staff at Paragon Studios.

Out-of-context irony. <.<

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

They have reversed themselves on "Forget it, never ever going to happen EVER" stuff so often, that I now have zero belief left for such fiats.

Dynamic respecs are very wanted by many players, allowing them would be wise.

I won't argue wise or not. I just don't think enough people really want this to justify the time to do the programming (from Paragon Studios perspective), especially considering that you can just make a new toon with the powers you want. This game was designed on that idea after all.

Most of the "never gonna happen/most likely won't happen" items in this game that ended up getting done was because a large enough segment of the players wanted it (Power Customization) or it had to happen for the sake of game balance (Market Merger).

So, like I said before, I just don't see it happening without a major shake up at Paragon Studios.

Only if you mean 'allowing people to respec powersets'. I don't see that happening.

Better respec system? The current one is horrible, clunky wreck. I think that alone is excuse enough to give it an overhaul to make the process less painful.
And that way people whining about x,y and z changes have one less leg to stand on, namely 'But respeccing is horrible!'
