To be blunt, you are preaching waaaaaay too much doom and gloom here, and you have no facts to back your assertions up. "Doesn't directly affect gameplay... likely little benefit... I don't see..." Really listen to yourself. You're just making stuff up. You don't know if anything you posted is true. It's pure FUD.

At least wait until the issue is out, ok? If you don't like it after you've seen it, then you can say so. But what you posted is just speculative nonsense. Give the devs a break.

add another hamster to the wheel inside your case?

Seriously though, system requirement whines are really out of place with this game. I run a stock Dell budget box I bought on sale a few years back for 300 bucks. Plugged in my old video card (pretty good about 3 years back, now I could probably replace it with a bottom-feeder card and see improvement), plugged in my old monitor and voila! I can't fully utilize Ultra, but the bits I am able to activate bumped up zone quality noticably.

This game is very, very, very forgiving of your hardware. If I didn't also play FPS's I'd probably still be using the hand-me-down single processor machine I had before this.

I wish they would add some 30s content, most of the time I end up running papers/radios because I've run out of stuff to actually run.

/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

The answer is "not all that much" - I19 is focused on the Incarnate endgame system, and you need a copy of GR to be able to access it.

The Devs did say some thing about futzing with PvP after GR is out I'm wondering is their change to PvP going to consist of the Incarnate system? Since I18 is a slap in the face.

i18 is not a slap in the face... if you don't buy GR you still get stuff.

--CoP ( play it or not its not required)
--Limited Tip missions
--New costumes
--Emotes

If you buy GR you get to use the Tip missions to switch your alliance AFTER level 20. That is about all i18 is. The devs could be full pricks and make i18 GR dependent and go on their merry way.

My only wish for Praetoria is that it gets more and more content added to it including a new Calvin Scott Task Force, new resistance contacts, new loyalist contacts, a new DE inspired zone and more meat added to it.

As for City of Heroes, I would like the Praetorian Mission Arcs in PI to get a face lift to reflect GR...It would suck having to fight Mother Mayhem as her legacy version not get GR version and the fact that you still fight the crazies but not the seers.

On a side not, since we are getting an introduction to an Incarnate level...will our Incarnate contact be Lord Recluse/Statesman or somewhere in Cimerora (Spelled wrong but W/E)?

I don't think anyone is allowed to say yet

I didn't read all of this thread. I only want to add one remark. To all you people saying " Yay a 24 player encounter!" regarding the COP. Cop was always a multiteam encounter ( if you felt the need for 24 people because your sg//vg was full of dumbies that couldn't do it with less players or you wanted to be nice and include some extra people)there is absolutely NOTHING different about player number requirements as compaired to the old COP that I've read. Just pointing out the original also was up to 24 payers ( pun intended).

Edited to add: It's a load of malarkey they are readding COP for the pve crowd and completely negating the trials original origins tied to base raids and pvp.Slap in the face to the few remaing pvp'ers left in this game ,as well as all the base builders that actually spent 100 of millions on base items in preparation of ultimately housing and defending IOP's captured via the trial. Shame on you Devs.

I'm pretty sure this will be happening. Can't say for sure, but I would think they'd do some updates, or else that'd be one of the largest contradictions this game's ever seen.

"Yo, Marauder! Why'd you downgrade your outfit all of a sudden? What happened to those cool dreads you had from way back when we were both in Praetoria? And why is Tyrant hiding in a cave and not that really cool tower of his?"

I have to know something maybe you can help me understand.

What is the point of the cool-down if the markets are going to be merged?

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

The cool-down was never about the markets except in a peripheral way. It's at least partly related to the genre CoH is based on: superhero comics.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

Too many people seem to forget this.

I can't remember where it was stated (I THINK it was one of the con appearances) but the Devs have said they're planning to revamp the existing Pretorian stuff. I also can't remember if it was I18 or I19 (or after) they had targeted for the ravamp.

I think they said soon after Going Rogue, although I wouldn't quote me on that. I remember thinking to myself 'I would be happy if they temporarily just updated the models', but then it occured to me that the arcs are currently written as you discovering and investigating Praetoria. After the expansion, we'll be able to visit Praetoria with relative ease, presumingly at level twenty. Discovering it at forty just seems odd.

Either way, I'm hoping that a decent amount of effort goes into the new Portal Corp Praetoria arcs. It should be able to give base game players a taste of what they could have if they bought the expansion, as that could shift a couple more. Hell, I remember playing the current Praetoria stuff years ago and thinking 'I want to explore this dimension further', because I really enjoyed the arcs. If somebody had stepped out from behind something and told me that I could explore that dimension further for a reasonable payment, I would've thrown money at them. With the current arc-writing skill harnessed at Paragon Studios, they should be able to do an even better job.

I18 would make the most sense.

It would and people using that exact argument is what makes me think they had said it would be after I18/GR, but for the life of me, I can only remember that something was said about it, but not what, which is a bit frustrating. To make it worse, once more, my Search-Fu is weak....

Personally, I'd like to see them manage it in I18 what with the (apparent) delay in GR from July to August.

As others have said, who said it was all about the market? It's more likely that they don't want you flip-flopping back and forth at will because they want what they built to actually mean something. You're changing how your character thinks and acts (or bringing them in line with it, depending on how they were originally envisioned). That's supposed to be a SLIGHTLY big deal at the very least.

I'm going to be honest, I kind of wish this issue did slap certain people in the face.

Red Kryptonite, the easy way to go Rouge. (intentional sp) Well, it certainly would be a good excuse, I'll admit most concepts wouldnt allow it. But many Doctor Jeckyll/ Mr. Hide like concepts would allow for instantly being good one day, evil the next with no slide down the moral ladder, because something just changed.

It would be nice if the system was fluid enough to incorporate concept like that. But since its so open to abuse, especially if there are rewards for being 100% Hero and 100% Villain that it would be exploitable.
