The pole dancing was not the purpose of the kidnapping. But the pole dancing was a definite result of the kidnapping.

It will be interesting to see if the story is referred to in any encounters with Dominatrix in GR. Per the story, she was let go with no strings attached which definitely put some thoughts in her head that we Primal Earthers might not be as bad as she had thought we might be.

It will also be interesting to see what she thinks of what may have happened to her counterpart during a certain Task Force...

But he has bad fashion sense. . . So he is fair game. I mean come one purple and green?

I guess he and Tyrant are maybe more similar than we thought.
What's wrong with wanting to see your granddaughter's lookalike pole dance? It's not like the Statesman is some disintegrating old man gawking at a young girl. Thanks to the magic of comic books, they both look like they're the same age.

Speaking of which, Hequat looks pretty good for a woman that's, what... 50 thousand years old?

You have a point, Sam. Statesman isn't related to Dominatrix. He's related to Ms. Liberty. That's two completely different people and he could see them as such.

Yes, despite having what is likely the _exact same genetic code_, and therefore resulting in just as much as the same illegality of . . . "certain activities" from a biological standpoint . . . Statesmans isn't "related" to Dominatrix. Oh no. Not related to her, not any more than he's related to Primal Libby, at least.

The real question to me is whether there is anything wrong with watching your own dimensional counterpart pole dance...

...or for that matter, having your friends watch your identical counterpart pole dance...

Well, in the conservatives' favour, she WAS fully clothed. I've seen racier things happen on the street outside my apartment. Then again, I do live just down the block from the largest conglomerate of bars in my city . . .

And why isn't anyone objecting to the bar room brawl? I mean, a little sexual innuendo is something to get all up in arms over, but full on life-threatening violence isn't? Priorities, people!

Can anyone know that they aren't happy if they're not free to think?

This is America! Violence and gore is what we eat for breakfast. But show some ankle skin, and we'll grab our pitchforks!

If you know you have to watch what you think about, then you know you're not truly free

But you don't know that you have to watch what you think until it's too late, and afterwards you won't be able to remember what you thought. Or that you spent two weeks in a re-education center. Or what your name was before you thought whatever it was. Good morning citizen, Clockwork Worker #422563 is at your service.

Exactly, It's not about watching what you think, it's about having thoughts thunk for you. You can't be unhappy if no unhappy thoughts occur in your brain.

That's not coincidence. I heard about it a while ago but forget exactly the reason, but it has something to do with primary colors...Something like since most heroes wear Red and Blue and villains are supposed the be opposing them and need to stand out they wear the opposite color prime/secondary colors which are green, yellow, purple, and orange...Green is probably the one that best mixes with the others, gives reaction wanted, and has a larger range of dark-> light...

Also Orange is more or less thrown out as it is too close to red and purple with different printers can get close to blue so that leave green and yellow... and i don't know about you but i'd choose green more over yellow.

It depends on who's showing skin, and in what context. Generic plastic hollywood blondes are allowed to go around in string bikinis. But [deity of choice] forbid you expose impressionable minds to unconventional notions of attractiveness and/or sexuality...or even worse, show skin in a non-sexualized context.

And don't forget bad words. "They train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't let them paint [badly bleeped swear] on their airplanes because it's obscene." --Apocalypse Now Redux, as shown on daytime American TV. Chef's severed head is ok to show though. I wonder if they realized the irony.

There's quite a bit of purple being thrown around too: Green Goblin, Magneto, Mysterio, the Decepticons....

Nos482 wants the old school info:

I mean, whats up with that colour? Is there a joke or something that I didn´t get?
Back in the early days of American comics, it was more or less formulaic that the good guys wore primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and the bad guys wore secondary colors (green, purple, orange). Plenty of exceptions, but that was the general rule.

One interesting side-note is that Marvel had several heroes who started out as villains and were later heroes that followed the rule. Hawkeye wore purple, the Vision wore green and so did Quicksilver (at first), etc.

EDIT: Awww, didn't read far enough. Durakken more or less beat me to it.

Dec out.

I could make an arguement that all cities are evil due to the reason that all cities are bureaucracies. I find them to be souless institututions more focused on serving their own needs over serving the public good that they were hired for, or elected.

But that's me.
