So, you're saying the Ocho is a renegade?

He was a mod, and good at his job. But he committed the ultimate sin, and testified against a PR department gone mad. They tried to nerf him, but got the threads he loved instead. iFramed for threadomancy, he now prowls the boardlands. An outlaw hunting outlaws. A bounty hunter. A RenegEight.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

I hate to say it, but CO has more character costume options than COH, not even counting CO's for pay ones. (and if you add in those vs COH's, it's really no contest).
Having tried to re-create COX costumes on CO I can honestly say that that is NOT true.

The options give a left and right seperate system. But that is about the only thing that is better. The options are different... but not better.

Just add a lot of the options idea's to COH and figure out to make left and right seperate of each other.

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

Steps to take:

1. At level 5, go to Kings Row.
2. Talk to the neigborhood detective.
3. Do three radio missions.
4. Stop the Atlas Park heist.
5. Enjoy your new low-level travel power for the next 13 levels.

Alternative steps if you don't actually like playing the game:

1. Create new character and choose Atlas Park as your starting zone.
2. Go to Rikti War Zone, available through Atlas Park.
3. Go back through the portal you just came out of, heading to Perigrine Island.
4. Swim around Perigrine Island to Portal Corps. Sneak around until you get inside the middle building (or ask a friendly hero in zone to TP you).
5. Go to Firebase Zulu.
6. Log off for 21 days.
7. Log back on. You have a badge and about 25 in-game minutes of flight. Get more minutes by logging off in Firebase Zulu.

Or

5. Go to Firebase Zulu.
6. ask someone to email you 10k inf, or mail it to yourself from another character.
7. Buy raptorpack.

Fixed.

When I said that about ninja run and vet powers, I was responding to the response to "give us earlier travel powers." The response to that was "Ninja run is an early travel power," and I pointed out that it cost money.

The other options also take time and some work though, but yes, they are free.

Anything else the devs have said that won't be in COH?
Yes.

And what would be wrong with giving characters flight, jet boots, a jet pack, etc, at low levels, as part of the standard power progression?

They never said "Never" on either of those. In both cases they said "Not without a huge amount of manhours put to the task" At one point some of the Devs commented that Power Customization would take 2 years (give or take) during which no issues would be launched. Eventually they got the manpower needed to hammer both of these items out.

Find me the posts where they said "Never" and I will literally eat my words. I will write them out, carefully, on a sheet of paper, and cut pieces of paper off the main letter and eat each and every scrap of it.

They said it would take at least a year. Sure enough, when they got the manpower to work on it and still provide other updates, it did indeed take a year.

Quite frankly, I don't think the dev's ever used the word "Impossible". Things like "Can't be done with the current system", or "Can't be done without a years worth of work", certainly. But never "Impossible".

I don't believe a word of that article.
I believe the article states what they think it means, but I also believe their logic is very far in error.

Dec out.

I think the only thing I've ever heard the devs actually say "never" about was Clown Summoning for Masterminds.

The quote wasn't "never" - it was "over my dead body"

The NCSoft statement about the CoH2 registration was vague enough to give more than one interpretation - although it did seem to be hinting that something was being worked on.

Here's a thought; CoH 2 could be CoH but set 10, twenty years in its future. CoH is full of plotlines that they can't really advance very easily without basically uprooting and rewriting half the game. CoH 2 could have, say, the Rikti at peace with humanity, some new threat taking their place as the Big "Alien" Threat, perhaps with the Rikti allied against them. Arachnos could be broken up into outright warring factions under each Patron, or new patrons (Why are all those Arachnos buildings chrome colored and not black? Why, that's the Silver Mantis faction!) They could keep all the lore, but would have the room to build on it or change things drastically.

And that really doesn't confirm anything more than we already knew; they have the copyright on the CoH2 name and the tech and forum side of it. Wether anything is actually going to come of it is a whole different ball-game.

And it sure as heck ain't going to be soon, either, even if there is.
i agree, it didnt say anything thing. we already know they reged city of 2.

As a superhero MMO it's better positioned to take the lazy man's route of "alternate universe!" than any other MMO; CoH1 takes place in Earth-1 and CoH2 takes place in Earth-2. They don't even have to bother with skipping into the future or having to keep consistent lore between the two games. They could have special Badges or Titles that are tied into your old CoX account, maybe.

And clean up all this messy, messy lore. Council become Requiem's Imperial Galactic Forces with emphasis on creating UNIQUE FACTIONAL ENEMIES--they only real Council enemies are the Council's Galaxies and Ascendants. Everything else they stole from the Column. And the 5th Column stay the old 5th column everybody knows with nazis, werewolves and vampires. That, or turn the Council into a shadowy cult of demon worshiping kooks run by an ex-Vatican priest that was seduced by the power of the Dark Path and just happened to also run the 5th Column because he's the Dirge of Entropy who seeks to bring chaos.
