Sadly, your forum moderator is not Moderator 08
Mind if I flesh that out a bit?

To be fair, if they had any say instead of Atari I bet it wouldn't have released when it did.

sure gr is coming out. but i think its alittle too late to be the "saving grace" if you will..

frankly just finally merging servers would be a better start to helping this game and i know alot of you wont like that but lifes tough and so is a game not making as much money anymore.it is after all a buisness first ,game 2nd
Too many nerfs to count? You should go play more games. How many did we have this issue? 1 overpowered enhancement set got tweaked, any others I missed?

Funny, I'm just hungry for chimichangas.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

Well, you should at leats beleive the words - "City of Heroes is a flourishing franchise and continues to be the world's most popular superhero MMO. While we cannot comment on City of Heroes 2 at this time, NCsoft is proud of City of Heroes' success and is looking forward to future product launches associated with the franchise" - because that's an actual statement from NCSoft, made on April 7th

The dangling in a stairwell bit might be less true though

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Now this is the kind of groundless doomsaying and terribly misplaced speculation that I've been looking for over the last few days. Thanks, OP, for renewing my faith in the paranoia of the CoH community.

This game being in good shape or not, it would be foolish to think that no one is considering, if not a new game, a major overhaul of this one for the long-term. Thats just good business sense.

The big thing I hope they don't change too much for CoH2 is the lore - I love all the enemy factions we fight right now, and I'd really like to see them - or most of them - carried over to the sequel, even they'd get changed a bit.

only complaining about the negatives and never a word about all the positives?

You completely ignore the changes to Defiance? Vigilance? Assassination? (and to some) even Domination? That's just inherit powers, I'm not even gonna start on everything else. The negatives don't come anywhere close to outweighing the positives in this case.

Do you honestly think everything will be released to perfection every time? It's not like balancing powersets and enhancements ruins the game... What, your controller can't get to damage cap with one fulcrum shift anymore? You don't like that defenders are good in pvp now? Did your fire/ice tank get tanked? Mad because your defender can't hit criticals anymore? Or that your bile spraying brute can't hit 70 targets at once?

So sorry, but that's not game-ruining. If anything it's game-saving.

I hope they are working on COH2, myself.

It could be like COH, but with:
Better character creator, with a lot more costume options.
Travel powers at an early level.
Lots more map options, that make sense.
A finely tuned graphics engine.
The ability to Block during combat.
Combat to be more interactive in general.
Maybe another bad guy group, or just expand the existing ones a bit.

You do realize that all of those things could just as easily (hell, more easily) be a part of CoH... right?

I bet a better combat system be very difficult to implement in the game. It would require a complete overhaul of everything. I don't know why more costumes aren't being released. I'd think at least 5 to 10 complete new sets should be in every Issue.

I hate to say it, but CO has more character costume options than COH, not even counting CO's for pay ones. (and if you add in those vs COH's, it's really no contest).

Ugh! I despise the Champions Online combat system. Even with the blocking mechanism, I find it to be far less interactive than our own (set auto attack, wait for meter to fill, fire charged attack, block as bad guy telegraphs move, repeat). The tactical options on CoH are much more diverse than Champions Online.

I'd like to see more released, myself, but without seeing what Jay's typical workday consists of, I'm not ready to pass any judgment. Remember, Jay and his department aren't only responsible for the character creator, they are also responsible for the costumes of the enemy groups.

They have more costume nodes, which gives the illusion of more costume options. When I played the game, even with all those nodes and the options they have that we don't, I found it much more difficult to make a character that I thought looked good. Some of the best costumes I've seen in Champions are ripped off straight from the comics. Some of the best costumes I've seen in City of Heroes are true originals.

I will grant that it has been six months since I canceled my Champions Online sub, so they may have added hundreds of new costume options since then and made combat more interesting, but I doubt it.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

I'm not saying I want a clone of CO (not by any means). But they did have some really good ideas that could be implemented here.

COH won't ever have:

vehicles,
swinging travel power,
four-legged (or more) animals,
underwater zone or even an underwater area/map,

although COH2 may never have some of these, either.

Anything else the devs have said that won't be in COH?

Hard to say, as at least two of those things are quite possible, and haven't been ruled out

You people are absolute morons.

It's been repeatedly proven that threatening and inflicting bodily harm on an individual to coerce information will, above all else, result in the victim simply telling you what you want to hear in order to get the torture to stop. I respect and admire The Spy on a professional level, but you're putting far too much stock in the words of a man that was terrified down to his very toes. You wouldn't trust the word of a jury which had been threatened, so I see no reason to take the employee in this article so seriously.

The man needs counselling and support. He doesn't need his moment of weakness exploited like this.
