  1. Yes, we do. I can't recall a single playerbase of any MMO, ever, keeping the music turned on if they play it for any dedicated amount of time. Doesn't matter how shiny and new it is, it's still going to be repetitive and exactly the same several months down the line.

Incidentally I love how you're the first one to bark back with 'we don't know' when your own viewpoint on the matter was prefaced by a definite statement of why people switch the music off, heh.

Gender is mental, sex is physical.

You can be transgender without neccesarilly being transsexual, to give an appropiate analogy.
  4. The extent to which HRT effects an individual person varies quite widely, actually. Some people are unfortunate enough to just about even out the hormonal levels, while others would develop and change to quite a significant degree. It's biology, not a binary yes/no thing.

We're talking about your medical history, your testosterone levels, age, height, weight, etc etc etc etc etc etc.

From a legal standpoint you're protected, and meant to be treated, as the gender which you identify and present as - be that male to female, or female to male, or whichever. This covers you under discrimination, any partnerships you might strike up and so on.

Ethically though....ehhhhh. I'm naive enough to hope the majority of people ascribe to the same belief I do, and go with the 'who they identify as' mindset, but not so stupid as to think this is the case in practise. A lot of progression needs to be made on that front, bleh.
  6. Oh, it was more a general declaration than anything specific. Just rambling for the most part.
  7. After speaking with Cat I can safely say she's not futalol, heh. The concept has been given a lot more thought and depth put into it than you might have thought.
  8. Yeah, once you get to that stage thinking on it further is going a bit too far. It's a fictional race, and intersexed fits the definition as close as you'll get. Terms such as transgendered, etc, aren't terribly applicable - the character isn't transitioning as such. I don't think anyone'll give you hell for using this specific term at the cost of something else, really.
  9. Yes, it does. I won't discuss the details in public however, it's rather lewd. D:
  10. Ha, well, they call it 'tucking' for a reason. I don't think anyone, regardless of how open minded they are, would appreciate too many emotes or descriptions about swinging and bulging. :P
  11. Stick with something like intersexed; be clinical. If people don't understand, they'll likely ask and then you'll give them an explanation I assume. I would really, really, really steer clear of terms like 'shemale' - they can be terribly offensive to a lot of people, and are pretty crude in and out of themselves. At best you'll just heavily sexualise the concept which, while possibly intentional, will likely skewer the initial viewpoint people have of you.

As for the disclaimer, I'd personally avoid it. Again, I think it's best that people express an interest by themselves rather than you drawing a line around it. Seems unneccesary to me.
  12. If that's the case then I think a link to your virtueverse profile will suffice, as well as a brief mention of the race's hermaphroditic/intersexed nature in her bio. I don't think a direct tag will really serve any purpose other than drawing undue attention to it - you'll give off the wrong impression to both crowds, imo.

If it's a 'when it happens' approach to ERP, then if someone's that interested in your character they'll likely have paid attention to your bio or nattered to you in PMs first. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't matter if they haven't noticed, ha.
  13. Question, will you be actively looking for ERP with the character or not? I have a feeling I've been reading the thread wrong - I'm confused if this a way of broadcasting what your character is so potential partners can respond as needed, or just a way of tagging a character's trait without it coming off as an advertisment.
  14. I do have to wonder if people would eventually start relating [Male] and [Female] tags with ERP, were they to be used in bios, ha.
  15. I really don't see the issue here, personally. Just tag the character and move on - if people get funny over it chances are they're not the sort of person who would be comfortable roleplaying with a potentially erotic situation in the first place, and if they're comfortable with it...well then, it's your choice if you're going to get down to nookie with them. Shrug.

    You've overthinking it, imo.
  16. No, outside of its target audience, the film flopped. I know the internet has a massive raging hard-on for Scott Pilgrim, but it was not the mega success blockbuster people are hyping it up as. I enjoyed the film a lot, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking it'll last the ages.
  17. You have failed to submit your clarification that was an opinion, in triplicate.

    Therefore, I have decided:

By the laws of your people, and in defiance to our sacred Common Sense, we shall now embark on a seven page pedantic rant showing off our education.

In addition we shall argue matters that are clearly intended as open subjects.

Finally, we shall laugh our heads off.
  18. Hey guys.

    I have an idea.

    Let's all post like this.

Then use a thesaurus for almost everything.

Then argue against everything, no matter how trite or clearly subjective.

Then do it repeatedly, without a sense of irony.

Only posting like this will we get our views across in a manner that makes people want to share them.

It's true. I totally saw it in my extremely intelligent school class once.

    I swear.
  19. Goddammit, seeing all those fancy lay-outs is annoying me. I'm peeking into the edit history to see if I can replicate it, but all that code may as well be latin to me. :P
  20. I don't think I've ever really set out to create an evil character, instead developing them based on their loyalties and needs. My character for example doesn't set out to be destroying orphanages, or killing babies, or however you want to be defining evil - what she does do, however, is carry out the will of Arachnos which involves the oppression, murder, etc, of what you might call 'good'.

It's similar to what a lot of people have alreayd said, especially in regards to those with criminal ties: if the actions are organic and based on something greater than Evil For Evil's sake, yet are still antagonistic, then I like to think you've done a much better job than you would have with anyone that was outright murderous. Psychopathic sadists are all well and good, but they tend to fall into the trap of having one trick and one trick only.

Ugh, I haven't taken part in a discussion like this for a while. Muddied thoughts.
  21. Things are only popular for legitimate reasons if I like them.
  22. I've added my new main's page, Judith Amberbridge, but I'm looking for anything people can help with. I'm interested in any information that you might think I should add, or any issues with the current text. Looking at it I don't see any major issues but there's still something nagging at me I can't place about it.

  24. The painfully hilarious thing is how his current pet project has made the same, if not worse, mistakes.

It's interesting how you completely avoided a possible discussion for the sole purpose of telling me I'm wrong. Let me make a proposition to you - if I admit I'm wrong and write a passionate apology, would that make you feel all fuzzy inside? Because I will if it will.
Ahahahahaha. Shine on, you crazy martyr.

Simply pointing out you've based your entire complaint on something you invented, not how the game is presented. But hey, those wrists won't cut themselves I guess.
