So, the new Megatron is a truck with an alien facehugger attached to it? Meh.
Bring back the Walther P-38.
Think that's supposed to be a tarp of some kind, actually.
Well, it looks interesting. Mostly for the fact that Megs finally seems to have broken down and got himself an Earth-based alt mode. I guess he decided disguise and hiding was pretty important after all.

Gimme that budget, some half decent actors, people like our own Ominous Voice and suchnot to score the thing...we'd have a movie worthy of being called Transformers.
Meh...will wait to see how #3 turns out. But im keeping expectations low.

Tech shaddup. Not your movie to make and the box office has proven that people actually enjoy his movies.
And I think Megatron might be a SCUD launcher from the looks of the trailer. Now that would be a very big gun indeed.

He's been a gun, a tank, a dinosaur, a dragon, a jet, and I may be missing other things (and a cannon, if you count him being turned in Galvatron).
Or is it the tarp turning into a cloak? I'd just rule that as a rule of cool and move on.

I was holding out for the truck being Black Convoy/Scourge instead of Bay mucking about with Megatron yet again. I would have much rather have had Megatron "reformatted" into an approximation of Galvatron (and maybe hinting at the existence of Unicron).
Ah well.
As a side, I think the ship on the moon looks a bit more like a Bayformer version of the Nemesis than the Ark.
It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

Honestly.. after the trainwreck of "Fallen" I couldn't care less what Bay does- he's a no talent hack that tries to cover his failings with MORE EXPLOSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! crap. (as for the money made by "Fallen"... all I can say is .. sheep to the slaughter)
I do think Megs took the Semi form to mock OP. The Teaser Trailer was interesting.. is it me or the bot shown in it look suspiciously like Alpha Trion?

There's always the possibly of Megatron being put an enemy mine situation with the autobots having to team up to defeat Shockwave.(he's definitely going be the main new villain of the film.) Shockwave has been known to try to usurp power from Megatron plenty of times in the comics. (unlike his boot licking animated versions.) Taking an alt mode might been a sign of good faith heh. Either way it might look much cooler than the toy does on screen. Not that the toy looks bad. (and screw megatron being a gun...thats just silly as was easily the most pointless alt mode hence he barely used it. No new series will ever use that dumb alt mode again.)

As altmodes go, a Mad Max style truck suits him. The tarp hood/shoulder cape thing is a interesting touch. Though I'd still wait to see him in the movie. It may well suck simian reproductive organs yet.
As for that toy, I'm guessing it's a voyager mold (that's medium sized, for those not familiar with TF toy nomenclature). I'd like to see the leader class version.

It was speculated a while back that Megatron gets a new look for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Some images of his DotM toy have been leaked and seem to confirm this. Granted it's a prototype, so the final look might end up different. One thing I noticed is that it looks like they kept the damage that he received to his head near the end of Revenge of the Fallen.
