If you did that to me, I'd take the TOs, and then flag each of the 20 emails with /ignorespammer. This would put you on my ignore list so you couldn't do it again, and flag you for a look-see by the GMs. Hope you had fun playing CoH while you could.

The SG/VG invite through email could easily be handled by a base item that created SG Invitation "Inspirations" that could be mailed or given out. You could also do promotions that way.

I've got nothing on how to stop blind SG spamming with this solution, but I'm sure someone else can come up with an idea.

Make it so you can only SG invite your friends. And you need to accept a friend request first before they can even send you an SG request. To be honest, the whole offline friend request thing proves that the tech is there for an SG invite.

Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.

Valid attachments are Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item.

There will be 20 mail cap to inbox. Mails sent to full mailbox will bounce (bounced mails can exceed cap). If you are at the cap you cannot send mails.

Items with attachments cannot be deleted until attachment is claimed. They can be returned to sender.
Hm... "Global name" did you say?? so... Would I be able to send influence from a hero placed in UNION to my global name, and claim it using a hero placed in DEFIANT, then?

Yes

QR,

Why not just have a global bank? This would eliminate the need for switching toons.

Kind of have that now. Just send the items to yourself, globally.

How will this interact with the "Spam" button?

And then players can use their Inf to bail it out?

Sorry, but I think you won this thread!

to TO THE END!

Sweet, that's two weeks earlier than I was gonna predict. On occasion it's nice to be wrong.

Well, they'll have had an extra month to work on DS, so by the time it's ready for a beta, it might be pretty closed to being ready - so it might only need a few days of testing, like DP.

Closed beta for Issue 17 next week? That is excellent news! I am really enjoying the pace at which things are getting done, news is getting out, and etc. lately.

Props to all those hard working people involved!

Wonder if they'll do the same GR-eligible thing for i17 or if it'll be different requirements.

At this time, I'd like to reiterate to any Paragon Studios staff that I use an ATI 5850 video card and would thus be able to test the Ultra Mode changes for ATI cards as well as run most if not all Ultra Mode options on the highest settings, and that having fully recovered from the bout of Norovirus which heavily cut into my Dual Pistols testing ability, I'd be able to fully devote myself to any and all Issue 17 testing.

I'm also available for children's parties and can write a mean run-on sentence.

To be perfectly honest, I was too.

Though, if the release date of April that I've seen bandied about in a couple I17 articles on MMO websites is correct I can see it. If they don't expect a lot of testing to be needed for I17 they could easily be shooting for an early April release of the issue which would still allow for a couple weeks of testing for Demon Summoning if they hold off on making it available until the end of the month.

Of course, that's just me and 100% pure Grade A speculation, but still. It's a thought at least.

I too thought that the testing would go:

1. Dual Pistols
2. Demon Summoning
3. Issue 17

Happy to have shiny new graphics to test sooner than later though.

I don't see why people get so excited about testing XD I hate testing. It ruins the surprise, and effectively you are playing the unfinished product that will be really buggy. For me, testing get rids of the "ooooh, shiiiiiiny" because as soon as it goes Live you're like "oh, meh, I've been repetitively playing that stuff for the past 4 weeks, it's boring now". But that may just be me because I'm immensely fickle.

Testing the hell out of it means I wont get bugged by bugs later on on Live servers.
I. Hate. Bugs and Glitches.
It grates on every single artistic relay in my chassis. Like the square rocks in the snake caves that havent been fixed in ages. Little things like that.

And I've played the game for around three years, some of it on blueside. I think Im immune to repitition by now

I've never understood the concept of "It ruins the surprise." Whenever it happens to me, whenever I find out, whatever it is--I'll be surprised then. And if I'm not surprised then, I'm sure as hell not going to be surprised at some epic later point in time.

I feel sorry for them.

This will basically be 5 straight months of NEW NEW TEST TEST. And what will it achieve?

People saying "What's next! Give me something new!" before GR is even out of testing.

More of a...do I get surprised "on test" where I'll have to replay it all on live.

OR

Do I get suprised on live, and play it all for the first time on live!

I'm pretty sure that's what the poster meant.

There is a difference for some people. Even more so, for those people (not saying the poster is one of them) who complain about playing through something more than once or twice.
