I think the Helper got confused.
Maybe he meant that you can't become a Rogue without the alignment system. -
Wow I had no idea about that, that's really awful. I have never experienced it, but it's just ridiculous that you can be one-starred for not producing enough xp or simply for no reason at all. Farmers are one of those things you have to live with, but that they believe they are actually in the right by farming is a notion I can't understand. Mission Architect was not created with the purpose of allowing players to create farms. But I digress.
You should be unable to rate an arc you cannot complete. The weighting system for ratings should be altered so lone one-stars amid several 4 and 5 stars can't have such a negative impact.
There should be no front page of arcs, people should have to search.
I'm not sure what the "Like" system would achieve. If you had that you might as well not have a rating system at all. Ratings are present for two reasons, one so writers can get a sense of how good their arc is, and two, so people can find more highly prized arcs. With this system, an author would find it difficult to work out whether someone thought his arc was good or not, especially if they couldn't even put Dislike, so he wouldn't know he needed to improve it. People searching for better arcs would unequivocally fail, because the number of likes would be massively associated with the number of plays. And Farms get the most plays.
If you were to institute the "Like" system, don't have a rating system at all. -
Nice comic. I have one qualm however, your intolerance of villains is almost villainous.

Over Shoulder Mantle Cape, virtually all robes. Those are the only things I tried it with, every single one of them clipped. Basically, anything raised around the clavical/shoulder area will clip with it. Normal hoods sit nicely on top of them.

500 Million Influence you say?
Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging. -
The CoT hood is both awesome and incredibly annoying. The shape is brilliant and the fact that you can combine two colours on it makes it also awesome, but it clips with everything. Well, I'm sure everything except the CoT stuff. But all I want is the hood. I can't even wear a cape with it.

See, I think that in general, the mild-tech costume pieces, with not too many extraneous and no glowing bits can easily fit with Steampunk. All you need to do is colour them brass/copper. Both Rocket Boots and Piston Boots. With my Victorian Steampunk character, Bicarbonate of Soda, I plan him to use Piston Boots with Super Jump.
I think that Rocket Boots with Fly or Piston Boots with Super Jump will work fine, coloured correctly. Obviously if you're going for a "set-matching" costume they will disrupt they won't work for you, but purely going off of appearance, most things brass or copper look Steampunky. -
People's arguments that "so it's middle of the road, every new powerset doesn't have to be uber" are null.
Yes, not every new powerset has to be uber. Free powersets don't have to be uber. But powersets you have to pay should be superior to free powersets. Otherwise, make them free.
Personally, I'm not a powergamer, I never choose powersets because they're good. I haven't bought Street Justice, but that's because I have no desire to do so, not because it is not that great (I didn't find that out until this thread).
But people do powergame. Powersets that you have to pay for should be in every aspect superior to free powersets, both in in-game effectiveness and other appeal (interesting mechanics, looks good, interesting concept). It doesn't have to be better than all Melee sets in every way. But in my opinion, it has to be so good that it fills a niche where a powergamer will go, that's a powerset I can use. -
Every character should be a mime. Seeing as very rarely does a fist actually impact with someone's face in this game. Usually your character just mimes punching someone and they are magically damaged.

K, October 4th. My billing date was October 2nd and I am yet to receive my 400 points.
-
Ok, now the VIP Beta is over I assume that is the reason why I can't log into Test anymore. But I'm not concerned about that, I don't really want to play on it. What I'm concerned about, is the strange loss of data. I created a character with an absolutely perfect costume on the test server and saved it multiple times. But that data, along with all the other costumes I saved, seems to have disappeared. I can't even find anything other than the test launcher on my computer. Somehow all of that information has disappeared from my computer, and I can't understand how, or why it has disappeared.

Horrible, horrible.
Well...The episode was alright, although the whole "time is happening all at once" representation was a bit ridiculous. Especially seeing as time was continuing, yet happening all at once.
The horrible part was the question. As soon as they remotely associated The Doctor with "The Question" I was like *facepalm*. This is going to make me massively cringe.
And it did. But I suppose it was inevitable. They still didn't have to make him ******* look into the camera though; yes, we get it, you're punching the 4th wall, bravo. -
Although, catching up is still pretty damn long. Especially if you are right at the bottom of the ladder. I'm slightly above that, but I still calculated that it will take me three years to get to Tier 9 VIP.
-
Well, the obvious one.
Telekinesis. Your character is just telekinetic. And, one assumes, knows something about fighting as well
Kinetics and Kinetic Melee are just high-precision telekinesis, to the extent that one is able to manipulate energy with one's mind. I have a Mind Control/Kinetics Controller who is an extremely powerful and high-precision telekinetic (he's also a telepath), and I could definitely see him being capable of Kinetic Melee as well. But I wouldn't consider remaking him until they released an Archetype that was Melee/Support. I just couldn't justify any of the Defence powers with him. -
Something that hasn't been released yet cannot be nerfed. It's impossible.

So, I will be next billed on October 2nd. Will I be given my points then, or will it be on November 2nd? If so, why?

I would really appreciate some feedback on the story before I continue - specifically about the Golden Apple of Discord. Are most people familiar with the myth, or do I need I to expand upon it further within the story?

I was going to play an Exalted since I heard about Freedom, but unfortunately I'm a roleplayer and I can't exactly ask Union to move to Exalted. But I think I will create my joke characters over there. Bicarbonate of Soda to the rescue!
-
I've come to understand that their approach to Freedom was entirely different from any other MMORPG developer's approach to Free-to-Play. They did not introduce VIP as a way to keep current subscribers happy. The entire system was built around VIPs. The system is built to heavily tip the scales in the favour of subscribers, that is simply the type of system they have created. They want everyone to subscribe. That is the only conclusion that one can make from Paragon VIP Rewards, VIP-Only server, content restricted completely to VIPs. That is their system and personally I like it. It's the least F2P F2P game I have ever played. I don't like F2P games as a rule.
I'm happy with the way things are. -
Power Pool Customisation. NOWZ. Stree Justice, nay, everything can wait.

Despite the fact that my villain is an utterly amoral psychopath, I found myself doing the least evil things. I didn't harm the Longbow, only threatened him. I didn't kill Fire Wire, because I didn't think he was worth killing, and my character found his betrayal amusing. I only killed Lt. Harris because he attacked me first. I said to him that I thought he was deluded the entire time (truth) and then when he asked why I helped him, I said that he had no need to know. I loved that option, it was exactly how my character would have responded. I also saved the villain in the Longbow base after some long deliberation. I decided my character would probably Two-Face it. And so he helped me out in my final mission. I was actually able to Walk the entire time because all my minions took care of things easily
Overall, I liked how they dealt with the lack of instances. Unlike blueside, I thought they did it especially well, including how they slowly edged you up to Fort Darwin with those successive tasks. The only thing I find at all irritating was the fast respawn. Longbow are pretty tough, and my demons kept getting killed by being spawned on top of. All I have is Force Bolt so I couldn't exactly do anything about it. -
An average man, of an entirely average height, average appearance, with an average demeanour, dressed in an average beige three-piece suit walked up the steps towards the Atlas Park bank. He would have been entirely disregarded, if it were not for the host of thugs, tights pulled over their heads, following him inside. And it was clear even to the most casual observer that they were not pursuing or harassing him, these men were following him.
It was mid-morning outside, but it took the superfluous fluorescent lights within to illuminate the fact that the average man was in fact wearing tights pulled over his head as well, beneath that fedora. But they were torn, almost symmetrically, the tears appearing to form a sinister grin across his otherwise expressionless face. Standing at the entrance to the bank, he produced a single handgun from within his jacket with his black leather gloves, just as the thugs behind him produced some rather more dangerous semi-automatic weaponry of their own. The people within the bank paused for a moment, before screaming, some rushing for the door only to be knocked back by the thugs blocking it.
Ladies and gentleman, please stay calm, murder is not on my agenda for today. His words, seeming to shake the air with a supernatural...what could only be called persuasiveness silenced the previously hysterical room. Behind the counter the tellers struggled with the emergency buttons that produced no response and the phone that was dead.
I can assure you, bank employees, that I have saw to it that the police will be completely unaware of our- The average man suddenly clutched his head as an overwhelming pain flooded through it.
An average woman, of an entirely average height, average appearance, with an average demeanour, dressed in an entirely average grey robe sat in a place that defied all description. Its incandescent, indeterminable, ever-changing beauty defied any attempt at mortal description, or perception. It's brilliance persisted seemingly in spite of this average woman. The magnificence of the being that stood behind her surpassed even her surroundings, an effervescent idol that shook one's soul both with an unbearable weight of having witnessed such height of pulchritude one would only bear sight of lesser things until the end of time, and the heartbreaking realisation of one's own insignificance in the face of a being that gave off a very aura of transcendent power. The average woman was the first to speak.
I suppose brother, that you as well will be attending that forced charade, while I am spited without an invitation? Spoke Eris, Goddess of Strife and Disorder.
You lie with your very appearance sister, do you expect one such as yourself to be brought to a celebration? Spoke Ares, God of War. Eris sighed with an annoyance that masked many other much more complex emotions and an instant of brilliant machination.
I hate that my own brother speaks such ill of me, this will not do. I seek to change this sad state of affairs, so forgive me this action out of character. Here, she produced a wondrous golden apple in hand, take this to the celebration. Lay it quietly on the table with the other gifts, I wish only to affect the opinion of my brother with this action.
Ares took the apple. He paid no heed to such baubles, he would bless Peleus with a mighty sword, so he barely glanced at the apple. Eris had anticipated that he would never notice that she had inscribed upon the apple: 'for the most beautiful'.
Broken Verse cried out as the vision faded; disoriented, he saw a shaking security guard raise his gun and nervously aim at him. Verse was still dazed, his mind trying to collect itself from the strange invasion it had just suffered. There would be no way he could react before that bullet had pierced his skull. A bang and a hole appeared in the security guard's head, he dropped to the floor. Solomon, the man of constant moral ambiguity, and the only one of them who was not wearing tights over his head he wore an olive hood and a scarf pulled up over his face returned his pistol to it's holster. As Broken Verse managed to gather his bearings and his breath, he muttered under his breath...
Two murders in two weeks Solomon, the hero of the people has such blood on his hands... he raised his voice, everyone proceed as planned. Disruption is only a fact of all us. Empty the vault.
This is war. Solomon retorted in a whisper. Innocents die, it's just collateral damage. Regardless, I couldn't exactly let you go and break your promise, could I?
You are an interesting man, Solomon...Forever clinging to your rules, through the chaos. Do you feel-
-save your rhetoric Verse, I have no taste for it. Solomon spoke loudly as he interrupted him. Have we not established that?
I'm sure to some it's an acquired taste... Broken Verse regained his voice as he straightened his posture. He stared out into the crowded room. But these people, I'm sure they'll just eat it up. He approached them with a nefarious grin broadening across his face. Solomon grabbed his arm.
I have questions, Verse. This was an order from the young man to the creature with the face of a man, many years his elder, and many years since one could really call him human. Broken Verse's voice dropped low again.
...of course you do. All consumed with the search for answers, struggling-
I said I had enough of that. Solomon was beginning to get irritated, although this was not uncommon for a man who saw himself as 'good' sharing time with an utterly amoral psychopath. Will you answer my questions or not? In a blur of movement Broken Verse has grasped the wrist of Solomon, who was still holding onto his arm. The leather of his glove audibly cracked as he tightened a close to bone-cracking grip around his wrist. Yet he simply lifted Solomon's hand off his arm, the most passive, and gentle of motions.
I will answer you. Though I tire of your need to know things. I assured you many times, you would be better off in ignorance. These people certainly are. He gestured as he spoke loudly towards the crowd.
First of all: what happened to you earlier? You seemed to have some kind of sudden migraine, but it only lasted for a few seconds. What's wrong with you? If you're dying, you better get moving on holding up your end of the bargain, and not wasting my time with this ********. Which leads me to my second question: why the hell are we robbing this bank anyway?
Only a few seconds you say? Well isn't that interesting...The truth is... Broken Verse suddenly burst out laughing and pointed his gun at one of the hostages as he wiped a tear away from his eye...Solomon grabbed his arm and pushed it down again. Nevertheless Verse pulled the trigger, shooting one of the hostages in the foot, provoking a massive scream. Solomon moved to hit Verse but he merely turned and looked Solomon straight in the eye, and he backed down.
I apologise... he said to the crowd, I just find the word truth, he paused and giggled a bit, so hysterical! Now where was I....I don't have the answer to that question I'm afraid Solomon. Who knows, maybe after all these years I'm going insane... Solomon observed the first moment he had seen from Broken Verse that seemed to demonstrate some real, tangible emotion.
As for your other question I thought better of you. Surely you would never ask me, why I would do something? We both know that the answer is utterly irrelevant...if even existent. He grinned at Solomon, returning to his expressions of utter falsehood. But his emotion appeared again.
The Broken Verse heard his name whispered. He spun around, terrified, eyes searching the room for anyone who may have spoken, his hand clenched tightly around his gun. There was only one man alive who knew his name, and that was not his voice. -
The running motion for women annoys me. It's the reason why I only have one female character. It's the reason why I haven't finished Dragon Age II. I don't like the look of the male running animation, but the female one physically irritates me. That definitely needs to be changed, along with the "omg my nails are drying" flying stance. That is my opinion on the matter.
