As I read it, you can only send attachments to YOUR OWN characters. So a spammer can't send you the 1 inf. in the first place.

Why 20? to me that seems rather low. Seriously, you can hit level 20 in a day. Make 'em earn it. Move it to 35.

[...]

I am pretty impressed on the whole, now where is a link to GR Pre-order???
Speculation here, but I would lay good money that there is a (or quite possibly one for each faction) EAT that you get access to after completing the 1-20 intro arcs for GR. Granting access to all EATs at 20 now forestalls the "why do I have to go to 50 for VEATe/HEATs, when I only need to go to 20 to get my PEATs?!?" wines.

The Pre-PURCHASE (I only stress that because you have to pay the full amount, which is not always the case for a pre-order) will be available next week. Only for the upgrade edition, not the complete (which is a mistake IMO and will stop me from pre-purchasing anything).

Sure it'd be 1 influence but with their energy/time, they might send ya 1 million by the time they stop
I look forward to this.

I agree. If I can't have a Martial Art/Shield Defense Lusca then the whole thing just sucks.

If Lusca doesn't get Octuple Pistols proliferated, this issue WILL BE A SLAP IN THE FACE! IN THE FAAAACE!!!

From what je_saist posted, nVidia looks like it sort of blew it with Fermi. I'll wait till I see more reviews before I make the decision but right now I'm planning on going with ATI.

Thanks! Now I owe the following to yet more marketers that I've talked to in the past that said item and inf transfers were bad for the game:

Your clarification was worth more than just one raspberry.

Triumph: White Succubus: 50 Ill/Emp/PF Snow Globe: 50 Ice/FF/Ice Strobe: 50 PB Shi Otomi: 50 Ninja/Ninjistu/GW Stalker My other characters

Change the rewards in task/strikeforces to be supergroup related loot and let the costume pieces finally be obtained by people like me.

I mean there's absolutely no way since the game came out and even before then when I played other mmos will my work schedule ever change or will I have enough hours on the occasional day off to get that stuff on like one or two character, let alone 17 characters.
On my days off I spend time with my family, it's a serious event as someone is very sick in my family, so computer games are out of the question.

I am just suggesting this because really the EPICS now available SO early.... when I had to earn all of them on both sides. That's fine but make these costume pieces in these strikeforces available too now and PLEASE think about changing the loot rewarded in those types of missions to people who play in big groups and have supergroups with bases that need items or recipes or whatever, I just want to finally get some well deserved costume pieces for variety that I'll never be able to get any other way.

Release the hold on those costume pieces like you did with the epic classes (which I think is a bigger deal.)
Truthfully I have to ask, have you even tried to form the ITF on your own?

Sending tells to people lft, who's name isn't greyed out over the search menu (the name is blue). Or looked at badge channels/TF channels on whatever server your on?

ITF is one of the funnest, fastest (not including speed runs when I say this), Taskforces. And on Virtue, I see ITF's forming all the time.

Yes, you'll have those time for a bit longer ITFs (my record is 9+ hours straight on one ITF)...but usually they fall in line with 1-2 hours.

[EDIT: And I usually PuG ITF...and I run them all the time! One toon I went from lvl 35-50 in a few days as all I did was ITFs]

From the opening post:

Quote:
In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)
You can only send attachments via Global Names, so the email is accessible by all characters on the account although only the characters on the same side of the law will be able to access the account.

And to who ever said that you lose all stuff going across, I seem to recall a Dev, Posi maybe, saying that you don't and so can effectivly create a smuggler.

Now if I could sent SG invites I would REALLY be excited. Please look into this I know I am not alone in wanting this feature.

So... if I understand this correctly, I could email something to my own global name, and any of my toons could access it?

EDIT: NM, I see the clarification I needed in later posts.

Only the ones on the same side of the law. But yes.

lrn2type?
<shrug>

I'm thinking that's user error and the buck stops there. At least it should.

This is what I imagine will be the case.

Make sure you type the right now. Or if you do make a mistake, hoep the other person on the other side is nice enough to return the item.

Will there be a charge for sending attachments though the mail?

If not, I humbly suggest that there be one (dons flameproof clothing).

My argument:
-This looks like a great opportunity for a inf sink.
-A new feature that allows people to avoid the fees (and risk) of transferring items outside of the market.
-If it turns out to be unpopular you can always get rid of the attachment fee. If you start off with "free" mail, you will have an electronic riot if you try to "tax" it once it goes live.

The sender should pay. I am thinking something like 5% of infamy, the vendor sell value of salvage and recipes. Enhancements would be tougher, but something could be worked out.

Hardly backbreaking, but every little anti-inflation measure adds up.

Can we email currency between characters on different servers?

I'm not going to go through all 30 characters.
Wouldnt it be easier to just implement an accound wide vault tab, so that any of your characters on the same side can access? That way, rather than having to actively send each item one by one to your own global name, you could just drop the items into the vault. Of course, that would mean updating the vault to allow recipes as well, and a field for adding in influence/infamy. Still, it would be a less cumbersome process

It sounds like we can transfer anything (inf, enhancements, recipes, or salvage) to anyone, on any server, as long as they are on the same side.

I'm really curious if this also applies to special salvage, like the halloween salvage for the 5th costume slot. I have 50 or so full sets on one server (after upgrading just about every character on that server), and I'd love to be able to send those out to the others on different servers

First, they didn't say an attachment could only have one item in it. So presumably you could send a bunch of items in a single email, eliminating the "one by one" part of your objection.

Second, this mechanism isn't just to send stuff to your own alts. You can send things to other accounts too, so it's more flexible than a vault could be.

I don't see what possible reason they'd have for excluding special salvage. If it can be traded or sold, it should be able to be an email attachment.

Assuming the AI was even reasonably smart, the AV would have your powers, your abilities, about ten times your health and double your damage. You'd have ... an insp tray. Oddly, you might have an easier time defeating your AV doppleganger if you were an SOed low level Blaster than if you were an IOed level 50 Scrapper.

I remember that too, although someone on the forums said that it apparently was (partially?) retracted later when another dev said something like "what makes you think you'd take your notariety with you when you crossed over? You're starting anew."

I take that to mean that they're serious about keeping influence and infamy separate. So your inf will be reset to zero when you cross over.

On the other hand, recipes/salvage/enhancements aren't associated with a faction, and of course you'll earn those as drops while you're doing the crossing-over arcs. I don't see them being taken away. So my guess is that you won't lose any items, only inf. So it'll become standard procedure to invest in expensive goods when planning to cross over, then selling them after the process is done.

This is all speculation/supposition, of course.
