Issue 17 Overview
My turn. I didn't find out about this until midway through an ITF last night, so I apologize for being late to the party
[...] I am pretty impressed on the whole, now where is a link to GR Pre-order??? |
The Pre-PURCHASE (I only stress that because you have to pay the full amount, which is not always the case for a pre-order) will be available next week. Only for the upgrade edition, not the complete (which is a mistake IMO and will stop me from pre-purchasing anything).
You say that like it's a bad thing...
You'd basically be getting paid to click two buttons "take money button" and the "report spam" button. I wouldn't mind that heh... Sure it'd be 1 influence but with their energy/time, they might send ya 1 million by the time they stop |
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

I am currently debating trading in my 295 for the upcoming fermi... Will I? or Won't I? That is the question.

Emails can be sent to local as well as global names now.
Emails with attachments can only be sent to a Global name. Valid attachments are Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item. There will be 20 mail cap to inbox. Mails sent to full mailbox will bounce (bounced mails can exceed cap). If you are at the cap you cannot send mails. Items with attachments cannot be deleted until attachment is claimed. They can be returned to sender. |
Your clarification was worth more than just one raspberry.
Triumph: White Succubus: 50 Ill/Emp/PF Snow Globe: 50 Ice/FF/Ice Strobe: 50 PB Shi Otomi: 50 Ninja/Ninjistu/GW Stalker My other characters
since they changed the epics at 20, why not change the roman costume pieces so people who don't have a supergroup, or play at odd hours or don't play with more than maybe 2-3 people can FINALLY get them, on all the characters they have (I have tons) but I can never do those taskforces. Change the rewards in task/strikeforces to be supergroup related loot and let the costume pieces finally be obtained by people like me.
I mean there's absolutely no way since the game came out and even before then when I played other mmos will my work schedule ever change or will I have enough hours on the occasional day off to get that stuff on like one or two character, let alone 17 characters. On my days off I spend time with my family, it's a serious event as someone is very sick in my family, so computer games are out of the question. I am just suggesting this because really the EPICS now available SO early.... when I had to earn all of them on both sides. That's fine but make these costume pieces in these strikeforces available too now and PLEASE think about changing the loot rewarded in those types of missions to people who play in big groups and have supergroups with bases that need items or recipes or whatever, I just want to finally get some well deserved costume pieces for variety that I'll never be able to get any other way. Release the hold on those costume pieces like you did with the epic classes (which I think is a bigger deal.) |
Sending tells to people lft, who's name isn't greyed out over the search menu (the name is blue). Or looked at badge channels/TF channels on whatever server your on?
ITF is one of the funnest, fastest (not including speed runs when I say this), Taskforces. And on Virtue, I see ITF's forming all the time.
Yes, you'll have those time for a bit longer ITFs (my record is 9+ hours straight on one ITF)...but usually they fall in line with 1-2 hours.
[EDIT: And I usually PuG ITF...and I run them all the time! One toon I went from lvl 35-50 in a few days as all I did was ITFs]

As I read it, you can only send attachments to YOUR OWN characters. So a spammer can't send you the 1 inf. in the first place.
|
In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.) |
And to who ever said that you lose all stuff going across, I seem to recall a Dev, Posi maybe, saying that you don't and so can effectivly create a smuggler.

EDIT: NM, I see the clarification I needed in later posts.

So what happens if the boob (the hypothetical "boob") forgets or typos his global name and sends his much coveted PvP IO that he just spent 3 billion Inf on to someone else? Will there be a means to cancel or recall the email if the recipient (who hypothetically, unfortunately happens to exist) hasn't opened the email and/or claimed the attachment yet? If not, how will NCSoft Customer Support deal with the boob's desperate petitions?

<shrug>
I'm thinking that's user error and the buck stops there. At least it should.

Make sure you type the right now. Or if you do make a mistake, hoep the other person on the other side is nice enough to return the item.

Will there be a charge for sending attachments though the mail?
If not, I humbly suggest that there be one (dons flameproof clothing).
My argument:
-This looks like a great opportunity for a inf sink.
-A new feature that allows people to avoid the fees (and risk) of transferring items outside of the market.
-If it turns out to be unpopular you can always get rid of the attachment fee. If you start off with "free" mail, you will have an electronic riot if you try to "tax" it once it goes live.
The sender should pay. I am thinking something like 5% of infamy, the vendor sell value of salvage and recipes. Enhancements would be tougher, but something could be worked out.
Hardly backbreaking, but every little anti-inflation measure adds up.

Can we email currency between characters on different servers?
1. Logon RichHero
2. Send Awesomething to @Starchild 3. Note that you have new mail with Awesomething attached 4. Log off RichHero. 5. Log on PoorVillain. 6. Note you have Email with Awesomething attached. 7. Try to claim it greedy villain, go on I dare you. 8. No you cannot have item! You are villain! 9. Log on PoorHero. 10. Note you have Email with Awesomething attached. 11. Claim Awesomething. I'm not going to go through all 30 characters. |

I'm really curious if this also applies to special salvage, like the halloween salvage for the 5th costume slot. I have 50 or so full sets on one server (after upgrading just about every character on that server), and I'd love to be able to send those out to the others on different servers
Wouldnt it be easier to just implement an accound wide vault tab, so that any of your characters on the same side can access? That way, rather than having to actively send each item one by one to your own global name, you could just drop the items into the vault.
|
Second, this mechanism isn't just to send stuff to your own alts. You can send things to other accounts too, so it's more flexible than a vault could be.

I take that to mean that they're serious about keeping influence and infamy separate. So your inf will be reset to zero when you cross over.
On the other hand, recipes/salvage/enhancements aren't associated with a faction, and of course you'll earn those as drops while you're doing the crossing-over arcs. I don't see them being taken away. So my guess is that you won't lose any items, only inf. So it'll become standard procedure to invest in expensive goods when planning to cross over, then selling them after the process is done.
This is all speculation/supposition, of course.
