I really do not think it was a joke. I can understand messing up your name. But I also agree that if you mess up your name you should not get your stuff back (unless the person does not exist of course). This would be similar to how the market is done, you may by accident put in 1M instead of 100,000.

Caveat Emptor. Customer Support doesn't fix botched local trades between characters, nor do they fix any sort of snafu in the Auction House (bidding too much on items, etc.); I don't see as to how this could be any different.

Um, no.

A byte does, indeed, consist of 8 bits. But it can contain up to 256 distinct values. Depending on whether or not it represents a signed or an unsigned byte, those values are either -127 to to 128, or 0 to 256.

The size of the data being used to store the information has nothing whatsoever to do with the number of active missions.

Sorry if I missed a post to quote somewhere in the thread, but consider this a giant "thumbs down" to the exploration badges. These to me are the least rewarding to get, but they make sense as a way to get new players to try to learn the game better. But to double them? They were tedious to get the first time around, especially in zones with fog of war. Now we get to criss-cross all of the zones again?

I dub thee fail, additional I17 exploration badges.

I dub thee success, rest of I17.

P.S. I realize it looks silly for me to be complaining about badges while I have a badge-tracking avatar. I assure you that is due to pure laziness. Using the stock avatar is easier than finding something else I like.

Man why can you not leave that long dual grind alone. I use the Posi TF as a merit farm.

Yes I solo the things over a couple days sometimes weeks haha

If I were a betting man, I would say the foot soldiers over in customer support would gather around, point and giggle. Then they would draw straws to see which one would get stuck with the petition.

However, you can prevent this from happening to you!
You just need to PRACTICE!

My only reasoning I can see DOING this means a harder mechanic is going to be implemented o.@ The main reason for hiding / randomizing clickies (Which is the only reason you can't find them right away, if they were static we'd /we do find them immediately from memory) is a method of time sinking and maintaining your userbase.
I must admit I've had to turn up my sound to find the clickies. But I was ok with that in the end, I knew how to tackle it.
I can see another possible reason for it. Possibly they looked at there ingame GM logs and decided that petitions for "last glowie in mission seems to be missing" made up too large a percentage of the requests. I know that the only 3 or 4 times I've contacted in-game support were for such instances. Once I actually saw the enemy fall through the wall and another time I was able to target it on the other side of the wall, but in the remaining one or two times I finally found the last objective while waiting for the GM to respond, wedged in between a crate and the wall that I must have passed 5 times before giving up and sending the petition.

So for me, at least, this change will result in a possible 50% reduction in GM usage, and the ability to say where outside the map an enemy ran off to in the rare instances when it happens.

Shush!

I mean - of course you'll keep a second account active, *Ahem*
You wouldn't want to hurt their revenue, right?

On a serious note, I've got no doubt that there are plenty of people that keep multiple accounts for other reasons = to Dual-box/Triple-box/?-box TF's, or to have "a metric ****-ton" of alts on the same Server, or to have lots of AE arcs, and... probably some other stuff too.

Or more likely, it would be combination of all the above reasons to have multiple accounts.

Oh great and mighty Pohsyb, Please tell us we'll be able to mail SG/VG invites to our Global Names - and thus easily invite ALL of our Alts into a new or existing SG/VG, (assuming they aren't already in a SG/VG on that server).

Dang, I just realized - that could also make Server Transfers much more attractive!
We could move all our 'themed-characters' into existing SGs that actually fit their back story & concept!
We could move them from "lonely slots" (i.e. one Hero or Villain on a server otherwise full of the opposing faction), Or for characters that side-switch, this would still give them a friendly and/or more appropriate place to reside after a "faction-swap".

Hmm... that could result in a TON of server transfers. Maybe we'll get another chance at a few free transfers after GR goes Live => After we find out just how side-switching affects characters, SGs/VGs, Prestige, and all those sorts of things?

Now I'm seriously stoked about I17, I was afraid it was gonna be mostly Ultra-Mode that my current system won't be able to handle and some fluff. But, Ultra-Mode aside its still chock full of WIN!

Holy Jeebuz - I was feeling pretty confident that my rig would be able to handle the Ultra, but now...

Mod8's saying their *work* PC (have to imagine it's a pretty beefy rig) can only handle "some of it"?

It's probably as many as any character would realistically be working on at a time, but you can definitely have more. It would take some work, but a level 40-45 Hero could have six normal Paragon City contacts, a Detective in Peregrine Island, whichever normal contact in the RWZ they are working on, Borea, Marcus Valerius, Senator Decimus Aquila, Daedalus, Five contacts in the Shadow Shard, The Pilgrim, Percy Winkley, whichever contact in the Invention tutorial that they have gotten to, and the same for any contact in the Architect tutorial that they might still have open. You'd pretty much have to make an effort to get that many open at once, but that's 21 total, and I might be missing something.

Edit: I was missing something, aside from contacts that are only available during events, DJ Zero, once unlocked, will stay with you and open until you run him out of your current allotment of Defeat Snaptooth missions. So make that up to 22 for the open contacts at 40-45 overachievers.

On Twitter, Positron said a bit ago that he doesn't think any computer can handle ALL of Ultra Mode. Seems to imply that you can toggle some features and will have to choose.

In time, when computer parts become cheaper, full Ultra Mode will become more common place. This is a long term plan they have. If they planned specifically for just today, their hard work of updating the graphics would be irrelevant a month from now.

Remember we were chatting about Laptops, not gameputers

If he is rockin a 9800 he can play minimum settings, if he has lower he wont be able to use Ultra mode at all. The higher up from there the better and more of it you can use.

I am currently debating trading in my 295 for the upcoming fermi... Will I? or Won't I? That is the question.

I hope one day in the future they can make some new zones for CoV with Ultra Mode in mind, like they are for Pratoria. Especially a zone for lvl 7-25.

You have to remember, TheOcho's primary task is to moder8 the forums, I figure he'd be the low man on the totem pole for a high-end rig.

My computer takes that as a direct challenge. I'm fairly confident my rig can handle Ultra mode with some power to spare.
