The aforementioned threads have been noticeably pruned from the forums. It's time to get the thread back on track.

I love the issue. There are a few more things I would have liked to see (pool customization), but what is there is great.

I am most excited about the emotes, as I hope they are new combat stances. I will never make a character with a tail, but I am really looking forward to seeing them on others.

The best is that I will no longer have to wait for someone I trust to log on to move inf. This will speed some things up a bunch.

My biggest hope is that I can get a new video Card before it goes into beta. The nVidia 285 I want is sold out on Newegg, and will not be in till next month

Personally, I think we're a weird group. Swishy Tails is not a new activity, but we're a community that thinks it is (Me among them). So it's hard to gauge how much this content "has" when our gauges are so very different.

This game is, for me, about feeling a connection to your character. Having "tailed" characters become a more aesthetically viable option is great for me. I'm really excited.

Also need to experiment more with the Mission Architect now that Giant Monsters are added. I have wanted to make a Lovecraftian story for a while now, and my big question was how to nail the "So great, it shatters your mind to acknowledge they exist" aspect. This... helps.

Some people like things, some people don't like the same things. C'est la vie.

Nobody needs to get all huffy about what others opinions are, and if they do please don't respond to or quote them. Quoting them just makes my life harder since they will get deleted individually by hand.

I'm excited by Ultra-Mode (at work at least my computer can handle some of it), but for me the content is a bigger deal. While the quantity might not be to the level that some like, I'll tell you now the quality is very high.

In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)

It'll be interesting to see how relatively new players who get to 20 will handle their new Kheldians and Arachnos Soldiers, and if we'll see a long-term increase in the number of active characters from those two ATs. And on a personal note: I'd rather the unlock not happen until 25; that way, it can at least be said that a player is halfway through the game. Just feels better to me than at 20, y'know?

I'm pretty stoked about this issue but I'm not sure I'll be around to play it come April-ish.

Not me. I hope with more people playing them, the devs see just how bad the PB needs work. To me level 20 EATs can only be a good thing.

The flip side is I think we will see a lot more posts about how Kheldians are "Teh suck" Which they are not, but ya know how it is.

Slightly off-topic, but I was mentioning City Of to friends at Uni over the past few days.
One is a W:AoR fan, and I may try the trial version, while she said she'd give CityOf a go, mainly because she had never heard of it.

A couple of people said 'Oh, that's still going?'
Can we please have some noticeable marketing for the game? Paper ads in comic-books, hells, go to google ads and just make a few banners. It really is a shame that CoX is still so unheard of, despire being such a solid game.

On-topic again.
Well...
Gimme?

I see this game every time I go to Best Buy. They have time cards, those jet pack cards and MA boxes. And every now and again we do have online ads on MMO sites and web comics.

That bit has me a bit stumped to be honest. Why the increase to 7? Know its a good feature dont get me wrong, just wondering what caused them to implement it now.

The issue changes sound good.

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no NO!!!!

They have already buffed kheldians lately, when used correctly they can become tank mages! If they are looked at again, then a buff to the lower level but nerf to the highers will happen!
I like my warshade as it is! Liked that i had to learn how to play it properly

Recent notice of complaints coupled with ease of implementation I suppose. WW personal issue that she pushed onto someones plate now that she can maybe?

Because 8 (not Mod) would be ostentatious.

Ultra Mode includes a superior graphics rendering process for players who have higher-end graphic cards. Each feature can be enabled or disabled in the graphics menu options and will be scalable. Ultra Mode works on both Macs and PCs. In specific, it offers dynamic shadows, screen-space ambient occlusion, and dynamic environment reflections (including planar reflections and environment mapping of reflective surfaces).
This alone makes me squeee with joy. Very much looking forward to the new look and feel.

Epic Archetypes Unlocked at Level 20
Previously, you had to have at least one character at level 50 to make an epic archetype character. No more! Now you can create an epic archetype character as long as you have any one character at level 20 or higher.
I know some have an issue with this being so low, but getting it at 20 is really no less exciting than getting it at 50. Yes, 20 is very easy to get to; well, great! There's plenty of challenges throughout the game, no need to hold back some of the more interesting Archetypes to play.

Quote:
Animated Tails
No more tails lying about like dead weight! You will now be able to select tail body parts that will react to your movement and have a swaying or swishing idle animation mode. You will need to go to a tailor to upgrade to the animated version.
I loved them in CO (one of the few things I did love), and can't wait to see how they're implemented here. A very nice addition to character customization.

Quote:
Dark Mirror features two new Hero and two new Villain story arcs for levels 20-30. Each of these story arcs has four missions, and the story arcs highlight the Dark Mirror's sinister new enemy. Acquire first Hero story arc in Talos Island, and the first Villain arc in Sharkhead Isle.
Can't go wrong with this at all; cheers all around!

Quote:
Silver Mantis Strike Force Update: The Silver Mantis Strike Force will now be available to all Villains, not just supergroups. You now can access the Silver Mantis Strike Force via Silver Mantis, located in Sharkhead Isle. You can also run this Task Force from your supergroup computer.
Great choice in making this more accessible to the players. I bet there's plenty of people (including me) who have yet to do this Strike Force.

Quote:
Positron Task Force Update: This Task Force has been split into two halves and dramatically upgraded and updated to ramp up the fun. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy.
Holy frijoles, I love it! I've been wanting to run this TF again, but frankly couldn't bring myself to slog through the mess. I remember slamming this out back-to-back-to-back years ago during a hurricane, my eyeballs were about ready to fly out of my head. This change actually makes me want to play it again!

Quote:
New Badges: Along with adding badges for 500 Badges Earned, 750 Badges Earned, and 1,000 Badges Earned, we are adding new exploration badges to city zones, almost doubling the number of exploration badges. You can learn new Accolades for finding all of the exploration badges in each city zone.
Not much of a badge hunter myself, but there's plenty who are; if they're happy, I'm happy.

Quote:
New Player Emotes: We'll let you know more about the new emotes soon.
Tease!

Quote:
Craftable Temporary Powers: You will now have a much cleaner and more consistent way of finding and crafting temporary powers.
Sounds cool, obviously a wait-and-see thing.

Quote:
Increased Mission Count: You can now have seven active missions (previously three).
Full of win.

Quote:
Show Last Objective: This UI improvement lets you find your last objective on a mission map, making it easier to find something you've missed.
This is another update that has me jumping for joy; the times I've spent cursing the hidden glowy, while turning up my speakers so I could try and distinguish the glowy sound from the hum of the underground base I was raiding, are too numerous to mention.

Quote:
Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe.
Sounds cool, obviously a wait-and-see thing.

Quote:
In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)
Very nice QoL update.

Quote:
Mission Architect Improvements

Experience: You can now handpick the powers for custom enemies and still receive experience for them (within game balance limits).
New Maps: We have added approximately 20 new unique maps.
Giant Monsters: You can now add giant monsters to some outdoor maps.
Exit Mission on Complete: You can now specify that players have to leave the mission manually on completion.
Escort Missions: "Lead to place" technology allows you more control over escort objectives.
Not much of a mission creator, but this is a nice update for those who are.

All in all, it's a solid update; and one, I feel, that will have far reaching, positive effects for some time to come.

One thing that I think people are overlooking also, as they always do..is Mission Architect in this new edition.

"New Maps: We have added approximately 20 new unique maps.
Giant Monsters: You can now add giant monsters to some outdoor maps."

Are you kidding me? 20 unique maps (as in the current game now doesn't have them?) This is freaking AWESOME!

I just don't get the hordes of people first off that say they want new "dev created content" when we have this awesome tool at our disposal. To tell you the truth, many arcs in AE blow the "dev created ones" out of the water, you just need to go RUN THEM!

If you don't do them because you only like grinding purples, then please quit whining about wanting new content... you can grind purples wherever people.

20 new maps and GMs now..I can't wait to see the new content coming out of AE..we have endless good stuff there!

Posted

Hmm... For the new Story Arcs, why 20-30? Because we need content in that range... or that will be the minimum level for entering Praetoria when GR comes out? The time for speculation is NOW!

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

In Lord of the Rings, I often take multiple missions at a time so that I can complete them all at once while in the same area.

I assume this follows the same mentality, in that we can complete seven instances at once. Very convenient.

WS(s) are fine, and have been. My greater concern is that the PB does need to be looked at still. But that is not here or now this is he i17 thread

More than I'd dared hope for, probably still less than it'll take to get me to log in on a daily-ish basis again (that's what Going Rogue is for).

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Is that like all of the sax and violins on television that people are always complaining about?
