I was actually seriously asking, since I am (South-East) Asian, and so I noticed the "Asia" part before any pun possibilities. And I am... okay, not "youth", but not so old that I don't remember being "youth". I honestly thought there was something special NCSoft had planned for Asian players.

Because that, to me, would be highly relevant and interesting in terms of Issue 17 news.

I suppose it's because "euthanasia" to me would be "you-tan-na-sia", while "youth in Asia" is, well, "youth in Asia".

Don't worry. Most of these "phonetic" puns really depend on the particular accent of the people designing it, and those not from an English-speaking country (especially the US) tend to have a rather different pronunciation and idea of spelling-to-sound. I remember an old pun that tried to pass off "khakis" as "car keys" despite two words not sounding like one unless you have the kind of accent that melds them together and you pronounce "car" the same way you pronounce "ka," which I don't. Being Eastern-European, I have a very heavy and hard R in my speech that you'd most often recognise as a "Russian" accent, so it's impossible for me to say "car keys" without including a very un-khaki R in the middle of the word.

For what it's worth, it took me several minutes AFTER I read the intended pun before I could reverse-engineer that it was supposed to be a pun to begin with.

I hope so as well. I have about six villains only one which I play regularly. I dont make more villains because Mercy and Port Oakes are so ugly and difficult to navigate. With ninja run and soon ultra mode both those issues should be resolved. It would be GREAT to actually be able to get a team redside.

In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)
This somehow bothers me. I'm completely thumbs-up for the rest of the Issue, except for Ulta-mode graphics, which thankfully are optional.

Sending Inf to your alts is something I was always "meh" about. Every character can be completely self-sufficient, so it isn't needed, and there are a number of workarounds to get the transfer done. But it is a welcome QoL improvement to do so. I always treated Inf transfers to alts as being a treat, not the all-important NEED that some claimed it was. Because it wasn't.

But sending $Inf via Email to other people's characters? How often would anyone other than a RMT customer need this? Can't you simply have one of the recipient log onto thier alt and do the transaction face-to-face via the existing trade mechanism? I suppose that it would make RMT buyers more confident, knowing that they don't have to share thier account passwords to recieve thier ill-gotten gains. (Just thier credit card numbers...hah! Good luck with that.)

But, I have decided not to get too concerned until I see some actual details about this.
Example:
*Is there going to be a "postage fee"? We've already seen discussions about the need for Inf sinks, and with the Market taking a chunk of Inf during Inf transfers, I could see a fee for using a service that is more reliable and safer for doing the same thing.
*Is there going to be a maximum amount, less than the soft Inf Cap of 2 Billion? I don't imagine so, but we'll see.

Time will tell.

It found it interesting that the TF revamp comes not long after the lead designer post passing from Positron to War Witch. I remember at the anniversary party in Pocket D, Positron was very much against revamping old content, while War Witch seemed more receptive to the idea. Hopefully, we'll see more of the older content getting a make-over in the future.

Amen to that. The comment of WW's that got me the most excited was that 'Not every issue had to have shiny new gizmo's in it'. That smells vaguely like the start of work on shoring up the game chassis.

God knows, it needs some work. Especially Blue side. People complain about Mercy and Oakes being 'boring' and whatnot, but at least they have a solid, steady range of content that doesnt have you trekking across half the damn city.
Blueside? Fedex, Security Chief, contact intro, fed-ex, hunt....[LOUD EXPLETIVES!]

I like the Hollows and Faultline, but it would be nice to have OTHER places I can level normally from 1-22...

Prediction:
Within one month of I-17, a player will post:
{{I'm angry! I want my money back! I sent X Million Inf to my alt ".SuperName" and it went to some complete stranger named "SuperName"! He won't respond to my tells or Emails demanding it back. I should get it back and he probably doesn't even play anymore and should get banned and I should get the name, too! <rest of angry rant>!}}

Predicted Response:
"If the Lottery is a tax on people who can't do math, this is a tax on people who can't spell thier own character's names."

And I shall laugh.

I've seen a few contests where they had in-game currency as the reward, so I imagine it'd be useful for those. It'll also make transactions above the inf cap easier, since people can more easily spread the money across multiple characters. Even for straight-up transfers to friends who are online at the same time, it saves some annoyance of having to trek across the game world to hand them the money.

The 'send to other people' bit isn't hugely useful, but it's something I would've used a few times if it had been around from day one.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I would see this as extremely useful, especially if salvage, recipies and enhancements can be posted. I'm in the middle of crafting IO's for a toon at the moment and I have a very helpful SG who are supplying me with Salvage. At the moment we either have to meet face to face or have it dropped off at the base if necessary, meaning they have to go out of their way to do help.

We haven't gotten anything 'good' since I12? Really?

*rolleyes*
Well, I certainly feel this way. Of course, that's just IMPO. Personally, I haven't done AE in a bit, partly due to the difficulty in searching for various missions, partly due to the negative stigma of "AE babies" (as the community has coined), and partly due to the negative stigma of how various players turned the AE into a giant exploit farm (until various changes and stop-gags were placed). Additionally, the AE has always been the holodeck to what I consider the "meat and potatoes" world of contacts, papers/ scanners, arcs, and TFs/SFs - in other words, a fun distraction, but not why I subscribe to the game.

Yes, this is what I personally look forward to. Issue 12 had the excellent Cimeroran content, and it was extremely enjoyable. Since then, though, besides a story arc sprinkled in here and there (as a test bed for Bruce in some cases) and the 5th anniversary TFs (10 missions total, 5 each side), there hasn't been a sizable bulk of content since then. Lots of QoL changes to be sure... but for me, there was no point updating the "quality" if the "life" part wasn't going anywhere story-wise.

Again, this is just me personal opinion. In fact, if and when I do start playing again, all of these little content updates sprinkled over the past few issues, along with GR, and in addition to all of the QoL changes, might keep me entertained for a good while. But I want something to do while looking cool with my new animated tail. I want to be going in-between new missions and arcs as I drink in a cityscape drenched in Ultra Mode. I want a reason to keep several open arcs open.. because they're new canon stories carefully crafted by our developer story writers.

That's the day for which I'll be waiting

As to the derailment of the thread a few pages back, there is no need to feed a troll, regardless of who he/she is attacking. Report and move on.

I kind of agree. PP complains a bit, well a lot, but damn. It is almost like middle school here some days. Also, I can't blame a dude for getting mad because people are trashing his wife. I would get mad.

I think people( the legit ones) complain because they are passionate about the game and see much potential not being used. So I can understand them.

Because?
Its all opinion and subjective anyway.

That is all well and good, until some one starts making personal comments. I can handle people disagreeing with my opinion, once they step into personal insults (which several did) that is taking it too far. Some of these behaviors would not be tolerated in the real world, and why people can't conduct themselves with a level of maturity here is beyond me.

As for Silver_Lobo's comments, I don't blame him. If some one spoke to my wife like that in person, there would be an issue. If any of you would let your wife (the person you have pledge you life with, and who may have had your children) be spoken to this way and not step up, you should check for a spine. Is that personal enough? I am sure that may have enraged some of you, see how it feels?
