Obscure things you may not know about playing the game
Something I just discovered myself is this thread on making your own menus.
I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but am looking forward to what I can do with it. |

The Shadow Shard is the only place you can kill/defeat enemies with a plain Web Grenade (or some other -Fly power).
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
Pressing the 'descend' button doesn't cancel emotes while flying. By fiddling with the camera, you can move around while using any emote allowed in flight.

wow! I'm only 11 months in and I knew most of those!
Also, Wormhole works around corners, through walls, etc. Quite useful for isolating a boss when you gank all his friends away.

- Shield Charge up through a catwalk into a spawn above you
- Recall friend to drop someone in the spawn in the same way.
- remote nukes (rain of arrows) are flat out unfair.
- Carrion Vines is like a joke that never gets old.

I didn't double check to see if this was posted yet, but as a Mastermind, you can drag and drop inspirations onto your pets or pet names to make them use them at their next opportunity.

inspexec_pet_name
Activates an inspiration on a pet by name. Inspiration Name then Pet Name.
Example.
/inspexecpetname resurgence marion
That drops a Resurgence (large green) on your pet named Marion.
Useful for binds, not so much in combat. Maybe if you type 100 wpm . . .

Yes! Thank you! I was looking for that command! Now I can make my bind/macro to feed my Assault Bot tons of reds.
Only if it's a sideways invisible jet. To move at full speed, you have to have the camera positioned directly under you, having you flying buttocks first. Which is, unsurprisingly, hilarious to watch.

Then manipulate speed and direction as necessary with mouse.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Using the "Ninja Leap" emote while flying or hovering returns your character to their previous elevation in a "Kung Fu" stance.

An interesting advantage it has over other drop powers is that since it requires an enemy as an "anchor" it can be used by targeting through your teammates. This means that a teammate like a Stalker who has stealth can go around a corner and target an enemy then you can click their name to Wormhole whatever enemy they chose.

This may change in GR, but as of now Anti-Matter has a lab in outer space:
Tina Macintyre: We've had no luck finding a lead on Anti-Matter's plans, [playername], so we're going to have to go back to the source. I'm sending you back to Anti-Matter's home dimension. I need you to search Anti-Matter's orbital lab for any clue to his next move. Be careful out there, [playername]. I get the feeling that Anti-Matter is a cunning enemy, and a determined one. He won't take kindly to another invasion of his lab. |
Something I learned about the game the other evening:
Unless you break a Leveling Pact, the game will continue splitting INF even after you hit 50.
Last week my girlfriend and I were trying to figure out why her pacted MM was getting less INF per kill than my unpacted MM. The pacting never occurred to us until a few days later, when I logged in to her pact mate, and got an Infamy Badge.

I JUST found out today that you can continue to combine MORE enhancements in the "combine enhancements" window after the first. Until now I thought you had to exit it each time...
I thought you were going to mention things I didn't know.
While you can't directly resurrect someone after they use Self Destruct, they can still revive themselves. This is fairly common knowledge. However, if they don't have a rez skill or a wakie, you can still give them inspirations despite not being able to target them. Just drag and drop on their name.
