  1. I just wanted to say that you were all like a second dysfunctional family to me and I'm going to miss you all, even KoIS
I'm too choked up to log into the game this weekend but I hope to see all of you later in the week.

All the IP Addresses can be found at Paragon Wiki, here's the link. (you need to click on the [show] on the far right to see them)

    Try these:
    206.127.144.229
    206.127.144.81
    206.127.152.19
    216.107.240.141
    64.25.36.22
    64.25.36.4
    64.25.34.133
    64.25.34.134

You will get the message "Destination Address Unreachable" because the servers don't respond to pings, so that's normal.
    Good luck.

I have tried the sound setting on Compatible and Performance with no difference, it will still crash eventually.

/unloadgfx does not help like it used to.
Don't know if this would help, but you could try silencing the Beast Mastery sounds. Zombie Man posted a list of BM sounds here.
  5. I have had problems like this on occasion, I contacted my ISP and guess what, they FIXED it.
I used PingPlotter and let it run for a few hours, forwarded the info to my ISP, and insisted on having it escalated when the current support person couldn't handle it. It was fixed by routing me around the blackholers, or, the blackholers were fixed.
So at least some ISP's will take consumer complaints seriously and will work to fix things. Give it a shot.

    is it just me?

Go to the ALL ACCESS: Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs and post there after reading this.
And no you are not alone, you're standing on monkeyslap's foot.

    A very odd fps?

Some anti-virus products scan running processes, which can cause periodic slowdowns. I'm not familiar with Avast, but if it does see if you can exclude cityofheroes.exe from being scanned.
  8. Sorry, totally forgot about your question
Against bosses, even elite bosses the -reg isn't going to matter to you, you'll be taking them done too quick. That said I did take both dart attacks my self, love the pew-pew-pew
  9. It looks like you want to hit the Incarnate soft cap (59% defense), I did a little tinkering.

  10. Some ambushes are character targeted, they home in and attack you through any and all stealth. WAI and annoying.

What can help is Placate the big bad as soon as he comes into view, run, and the remaining mobs follow you. Defeat them then go back for the boss.
  11. And the answer is YES, I can be confused.
I made an AE mission with a Succubus boss and she DID confuse me in the mission.
So its not just a display bug, the confuse protection is indeed gone upon zoning.
  12. I Moniter my Confuse Protection on my Ninjitsu Stalker. Its showing as 10.8 where it should be 10.4, and it vanishes when I zone, i.e. it becomes zero. So I have NO Confuse Protection (according to Combat Attributes) after I zone until Kuji-In Rin fires off again. Bug report was sent in.

All my other status protections are displaying the correct values (10.4) and none of them vanish upon zoning.
  13. Looking at your pathping, if I'm reading it correctly, hops 3 and 4 look like they are blackholing. 100 packets lost out of 100 packets sent. Also I would guess that the 2 nodes, 10.1.8.254 and 10.20.0.1, are routers in your apartment complex. I think you need to talk to the management company that runs your complex.

  15. "Now who's the Nabob of the Nile!"

Dating myself, but my first thought was that Matt reminds me of Victor Buono.
  16. You can track your level shift along with many other aspects of your character using Combat Attributes display. You can see how to view it at the bottom of the page.
  17. Actually that giant boulder is covering you! Of course you can't see.

I also found it annoying fighting those Knives of Vengeance with the Earth powers. One of those powers drops a few large boulders on and around you, so all you see are the boulders. What worked for me was zooming out a good ways and also leaving the vicinity of those Earth powers that are obscuring the combat area. Don't worry, those Knives of Vengeance will follow you (and continue to try to bury you under boulders).

In fact, you can use the Echo of Galaxy City as a workaround to OBTAIN the Oro Portal. Go to a base, use the teleporter to the Echo, exit to Ouroboros, get the exploration badge.

You can't use the train station to get into Ouro if you are NOT ELIGIBLE (i.e. too low in level) to enter Ourooboros.
Ya, you're right. When it happened to me the character was under level 10 so I only got the can not enter pop up.
  19. Just wondering, do you have the NCLauncher set to close after launching? If not, its under File --> Settings, the first tab in a drop done menu.
And to launch the game in safe mode run the launcher, click on City of Heroes then click on the arrow to the right of it. Select Properties and you'll see a check box for Launch in Safe Mode.
As for the Event Viewer, its built into Windows, here's the instructions I was given to use it:
    Quote:
1.) From within windows operating system click on the start button.

2.) In the Text Box above the start button type in “EventVwr” and press enter.

3.) In the left side of the screen you will see “Event Viewer (Local) and then underneath it “Windows Logs” double Click on it.

4.) Then right click on “Applications Icon” and click on “Save all events as” Option. A window will pop up, double click desktop icon located on the far left top.

5.) Then in the file name box at the bottom of the window, type in APPLICATION and click save

6.) Then right click on “Systems Icon” and click on “Save all events as” Option. A window will pop up, double click desktop icon located on the far left top.

7.) Then in the file name box at the bottom of the window, type in System and click save.
    Hope some of that helps.

I couldn't board the train to escape, but I was able to run out one of the tunnels to a neighboring zone, and rejoin the "real" world.

Now that I've read the old patch notes, I see that returning characters that had logged out in old Galaxy City were sent to Atlas Park instead. You might want to check all character in bases that have portals set to return to old Galaxy City and do the same.
Try running the gate into Perez Park or Kings, it should zone you.
Bill, you only get the Oro options if you have access to Oro, no Oro Portal then you only get the can not enter pop up.
  21. Green Arrow
New TV series and a publicity stunt, could be.
Besides, his name is Oliver Queen!

That last bit was a joke.

Pop the case and blow out your fans with some compressed air, see if that helps.
Just make sure to keep the fans from spinning when you're doing that, you don't want to risk damaging the system.
