Returning Character/Galaxy City Bug

I re-opened my account last week after more than a year and logged in to my primary character. I was in my super-base, and jumped into the main portal. That deposited me into the older, now empty, version of Galaxy City. I couldn't board the train to escape, but I was able to run out one of the tunnels to a neighboring zone, and rejoin the "real" world.

Now that I've read the old patch notes, I see that returning characters that had logged out in old Galaxy City were sent to Atlas Park instead. You might want to check all character in bases that have portals set to return to old Galaxy City and do the same.

Er...

Characters logged out in Galaxy should still be in Echo of Galaxy City at this point. They *did,* at one point, force you into Atlas, but don't now.

The teleport beacons for Galaxy now point to Echo: Galaxy City.

The train should give you an option to go to Ouroboros.

Try running the gate into Perez Park or Kings, it should zone you.
Bill, you only get the Oro options if you have access to Oro, no Oro Portal then you only get the can not enter pop up.

I know that originally if you logged out in Outbreak and selected Galaxy City as your starting zone it would start the GC load screen then switch quickly to the AP load screen and load you into AP instead.

Recently I tried that with a character I had logged out in Outbreak and it sent me to a totally empty GC. I had the same issues with the tram that the OP. The train didn't give an option for Ouroboros, just a message saying "You cannot enter".

Also, the map and /whereami all said I was in Galaxy City, not Echo: Galaxy City.

If I go to the Echo: Galaxy City on any of my characters. the map and /whereami both say Echo: Galaxy City.

I think something broke recently in relation to the code that was handling where to send players if they picked Galaxy City as the starting zone from Outbreak and for where it sent players that had logged out in Galaxy City.

EDIT: I just double-checked by logging that character back in that is listed on the character select page as being in Galaxy City. He's still in what is labeled as Galaxy City instead of Echo: Galaxy City. The character I logged off in Echo: Galaxy City shows on the character select page as being in Echo: Galaxy City.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Incorrect.
In fact, you can use the Echo of Galaxy City as a workaround to OBTAIN the Oro Portal. Go to a base, use the teleporter to the Echo, exit to Ouroboros, get the exploration badge.

You can't use the train station to get into Ouro if you are NOT ELIGIBLE (i.e. too low in level) to enter Ourooboros.

What I find strange/intriguing is that you mention being in your base and that the main terminal took you to Galaxy City.

When you say the "main terminal", do you mean the portal that will take you to the zone that you entered the base from?
And, if so, what zone were you in before you went to the base?

I'm just curious. For a moment, the only sense I could make of it was that you logged into the game with your character in the base and the reason the main terminal took you to Galaxy City is because that was the last zone that character was in before entering the base (many moons ago)... However, we can't log into the game within a base, so that's the source of my confusion!

In the end... this just sounds like some whacky timey wimey stuff! Or is it the beginning... or the middle...

Ah, see, yeah... you seem to be saying that you logged into your base! That shouldn't be possible (even though I'd like it to be!).

Ya, you're right. When it happened to me the character was under level 10 so I only got the can not enter pop up.

I had last quit the game about 550 days previously while in my base crafting, and when I came back I'm pretty sure that's where I still was. I had entered the base from Galaxy City, which I've always preferred to Atlas.

I can't use a portal to get back to my base because I'm way past due on upkeep, and I haven't gotten around to paying up yet. The portal I used was the default base portal that sends you right back were you entered the base.

I've got another character bug as well. I've got a tray full of IO's that tell me I can't slot them because I don't have privileges to use IO's. However, every indication in my account says I'm a VIP, I've paid the monthly fee, and none of the IO's I have slotted are greyed out.

And don't get me started on all my costumes that are locked for illegal parts. That's an account-wide occurance. My Mastermind is 4 for 4 on locked costumes, and my scrapper is 3 for 5. I don't think all the game codes I purchased in the past are correctly applied to my account. Once I figure out what's going on, I'll ask for official help in fixing it.

There are times that the game and store don't sync properly. When that happens, you can usually correct it by logging out and logging back in. Some find that it corrects itself if they choose a different server.

If that doesn't correct the problem with the IO's, be sure to file a /petition in game about it. If the responses aren't getting it corrected or seem to be responses that don't apply to your situation just stay polite and ask that the ticket be escalated to a senior support person. Sometimes it takes a bit to get someone that actually reads and understands the problem fully as well as how to correct it.

As for the costume parts, they've shuffled several of the costume parts around and that will often flag an item as an Invalid part. One of the big ones recently dealt with combining "Standard" and "With Hair" in the Masks sections (I think those were the two that were combined, but it could have been something else beside Standard). It usually just involves selecting the costume pieces again from where they've been moved to.

If it was the sync issue causing it, it should clear on it's own when you get the store and game to finally communicate together about what you've purchased in the past.

Again, if that doesn't resolve it, file a /petition stating what you've purchased and what specific costume piece from that purchase is showing as locked. Stay polite and ask for escalation if the initial responses can't get it resolved or seem to not apply.

Sounds like the auto-teleport field in Galaxy may be busted.

Characters who are in Galaxy are supposed to be bounced to Atlas, but apparently it isn't working anymore.

Galaxy City is still there, just with key NPCs removed. "Echo: Galaxy City" is an entirely new zone that was created as a copy -- an entry point was added from Ouroboros and the base beacons were modified to send you there instead.

For a while the arcane teleport beacon in bases was bugged and would send you to the real Galaxy City instead of the echo -- you could run around for a few seconds before the auto-TP kicked in and sent you to Atlas.

Dark Astoria, however, they did the opposite. The original zone was modified and became the Echo, and the "New DA" was created as a brand new zone. The subtle difference lies in what happens to characters who logged out there, as well as old missions that have their entry door there.
