I used to use Equip Thugs on Fluffy for ***** and giggles on my old MM. There's just something hilarious about watching an entity of pure darkness rummage through a duffle bag.

I'd say two major changes:
In missions, the rate at which one takes down the mobs influences how the surviving mobs act in two ways: it influences the attacks they use, and their aggro radius. At the start of any mission, the mobs hold back from using their strongest powers, are less prone to using powers that create reinforcements, and have a small aggro radius. If a player is killing quickly, they remaining mobs will start using their heavy hitters more often, use pet summoning abilities immediately, and will have a doubled or tripled aggro radius. The harder you hit them, the harder they hit back, essentially.
Also, instead of having mobs run away almost randomly, the mobs will only run if they're minion class or lower and the last or second to last mob in a group of six or more. The mobs that run away will NOT come back. Instead, they'll seek out a nearby group and join up with them, increasing the group's aggro radius and causing the group to preemptively use certain buffs. If there are no other groups left on the map, the runners will head into a corner and cower, and will be considered 'defeated' at that point.
Neither of these, however, applies to EB or above type mobs. -
...I'm sorry, what was that? I was too distracted by the inherent obnoxious silliness of the word 'sheeple'.

I've never seen a set of devs that spoiled their player base so much. They're absolutely awesome.

Occasionally. At one point, I listened to the Aion soundtrack. It was an odd mix.
But I generally listen to anime and game soundtracks. Gundam Unicorn and Phantasy Star Online's soundtracks are wonderful. -
It's a constant process of create and clean up. New tropes are run through the 'You Know That Thing Where...?' section, fixed up, given examples, or considered redundant and deleted. Once outside of the YKTTW, if they're too similar to other tropes or too vague or the like, they'll be put up for discussion in the Trope Talk section to be fixed, considered fine as is, or cutlisted.

I can't say much about it's effectiveness, but it's quite fun to use when triple-slotted for KB.
-
I had to improvise. :P
-
@Golden: Yes. Especially the bikini tops and skirts. Paragon needs more fabulous.
-
Most tropes have multiple categories of examples, and some don't even have an anime category. You'll notice the 'Anime & Manga' category first, but that's because the categories are listed in alphabetical order.

Fingers.
More seriously, branching missions that allow you to choose between being a standard super hero or an anti-hero/super villain or a complete monster. For example, a villain mission that involves disposing of the evidence or a crime where you get to decided whether that evidence includes the helpless labtechs or not.
Oh, I'd love to see all the costume parts be unisex. -
As others have said, tropes are writing tools, not cliches. Some tropes my qualify as such, but most are too simple in nature to qualify as such. They're just segments that fit together to help build a story.
And I'm a long time Troper (hey DKellis. It's Miijhal. By the way, the whole 'TvTropes? More like AnimeTropes' thing seems to have died off). We actually have a heroside and villain side SG (Designate Heroes and Card Carrying Villains), although they're both pretty inactive.
@Primal: Yeah. The channel name is Tropers. -
Hey, who's to say that Britain or Swaziland don't have their own 'City of Heroes'? :P

I put a lot of time into making my characters.
First, I generally make a character because I feel inspired to try a certain archetype or powerset. So I head to the board for that archetype and see what powersets looks fun, or check if the powerset that's piqued my curiosity sounds like something I'd really want to play. If it does sound fun, I'll look for a primary/secondary that works well with it and again, sounds fun. (Generally, I want combinations that can solo -1/x8 missions by around level 35, but can still offer something to a team. Oh, and have no endurance issues by then.)
Next, I try to see if I can think of a good concept for it, provided I don't have one in mind already. Concept is as important as performance to me. I'm willing to bend things a bit (my Rad/MM Blaster has a neutron star theme), but something like an Elec/Stone Tanker really wouldn't work for me.
Then I make a cheapo build (Generally under 250mil, something I can make before level 47) for them to see how well I can get them to perform on a budget and to compare them to other powerset combinations I might be thinking of.
Then I have to come up with a name that fits the theme, which is always the hardest part.
If all goes well, I'll have my next character. -
I'm getting the feeling the thing that's getting Fireminded booted isn't his build.
As for why I use Mids? I have certain expectations of my characters. Mainly, I want them to be able to solo -1/x8 missions without faceplanting. I find fighting off endless waves of foes to be one of the things that draws me to this game. It's not exactly a massive goal, but one that's hard to accomplish on particularly squishy characters with just SOs. So, I use Mids to figure out affordable builds that boost their survivability and effectiveness to that goal become easier. And I wouldn't say I'm particularly prone to making FOTM builds. My current active characters are a Fortunata, a Claws/Elec Brute, an Ice/Ice Tank, a Rad/Psi Blaster, and an AR/Ice Corrupter. -
Can't think of any particularly horrible ones off the top of my head. Most I've seen are just generically bad.
That said, I have a Fire/WP Scrapper named 'Generic Shonen Hero' and SS/Inv Brute named 'Manly McMuscleton'. -
What about having one's available slots in Wentworths/the Black Market show up under one's enhancement tray while respecing?
Of course, this means you may have to respec two or three times if you're completely rebuilding, but it's better than what we currently have and I can't imagine it's very exploitable. -
Have a mind-computer interface designed, hire a military force to rival that of the rest of the world, take it over, and create one global City of X hivemind.
Of course, this would require expanding the server size. As well as the zones. Removal of the war walls and adding zones for the rest of the world would be necessary. It'd probably be a good idea to add more villain and hero groups as well, since I don't think the entire world wants to be foiling Nemesis plots all day long. Customization should be increased as well, with more every day clothing as well as some more fantastical parts, all unisex. A graphics update would be required as well.
The AI would further need to be heavily updated, especially those of the civilians. They should act more 'real' and less like incredibly stupid roombas. They should at least be capable of conversations on par to the average well built chat bot.
You did say 'unlimited resources'. :P -
Brute Claw's Spin.
Archery's Rain of Arrows.
Plant Control's Seeds of Confusion.
Storm's Freezing Rain.
Thug's Gang War
And the 'I Win Button'. -
While you can't directly resurrect someone after they use Self Destruct, they can still revive themselves. This is fairly common knowledge. However, if they don't have a rez skill or a wakie, you can still give them inspirations despite not being able to target them. Just drag and drop on their name.

Eisenzahn. I love you. Marry me.
That was hilarious.
The closest thing I have to this is Your Friendly CFI. FF/NRG Defender. Shields put off for KB powers. Everything KB power triple slotted for KB. She wants to teach the villains of Paragon City how to fly.
I may switch her to a Grav/FF instead, because Wormhole.
I also made a secondary build for my Ice/Storm Controller that has every KB capable power pool ability and runs Hurricane and Whirlwind at the same time. Everything is slotted for KB, and if you haven't seen Jump Kick slotted for KB, it's hilarious.
I've flung a war wolf from one end of Striga to the other on her. -
Pretoria. It actually looks like a city!
