Do you play with your own music on missions?

I turn down the music to almost zero before going into missions, especially if it's a long one, and then play some of my music on Windows Media Player. My favorite stuff is from Muse, songs like "Take A Bow" and "Stockholm Syndrome".

Do you put your own music on when playing CoH? If so, what artists?

Occasionally. At one point, I listened to the Aion soundtrack. It was an odd mix.

But I generally listen to anime and game soundtracks. Gundam Unicorn and Phantasy Star Online's soundtracks are wonderful.

I haven't played CoH with sound in almost 5 years. I normally just open up Itunes and let the shuffle begin. For some reason i never really got into the music for the game and some of the power sound fx were just really annoying. At one point though I had downloaded the CoV soundtrack and was playing to that. Anyway..yes i listen to my own music.

It's either Sirius, Pandora, a CD or mp3s. I usually play with the game sound all the way down.

I listen to my own music when playing. Typically stuff like Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Metallica etc(helps me get in the right frame of mind when playing my Scrappers).

Though I'll listen to anything really, Rush, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks, Frank Sinatra, Dr. Dre, whatever.

Edit: Pandora too.

It depends. If I'm playing redside, not usually, I like the music over there.

Lately though I've been playing a lot of Blue. And I
Can
Not

the Blueside music. It's a crime against ears. So then I turn on iTunes. I've got some Ozzy, some Alice Cooper, some Greenday, some Nightwish... it's a good mix. Keeps me from hurling my speakers across the room in disgust.

Bring me the Horizon. Norma Jean, but only Bless the Matyr and Kiss the Child...Circle takes the Square...The Acacia Strain--hard stuff like that. sometimes its Frank Black or Mazzy Star. sometimes its MIA. lol i listen to music all day, everyday. I only play 1 toon. she is a brute so 9 times outta 10 its something heavy:P

I leave Pandora running in the background while I play. Sometimes the resulting music is highly appropriate (the Imperial March playing when the team encounters the Reichsman), and sometimes it's highly inappropriate (the Super Mario Brothers 2 music playing while fighting Romulus).

I think I stopped listening to the in-game music about half a minute after I first managed to get the game in Windowed Mode, which was about a couple of minutes after I first started playing.

It's not bad, but I just like my own music collection better. And when I don't, silence is usually what I want.

My tastes run mainly towards anime J-pop, classical, and lots of 80s.

Game music is turned off and I usually listen to netradio stations. Generally either ArmiTunes or KCEA. Sometimes I'll play my own stuff, which ranges from Blondie to Jpop to Ska

I practically have theme songs picked out for my characters!
But for most of my Japanese characters they all tend to get SUSANOOH (Hakumen's theme) from the BlazBlue OST, especially my main katana fighter.
But for the times I don't feel in a Japanese mood, or when I'm semi-stealthing/rushing through to take down a target, for that I listen to Flight Over Venice 2 from the Assassin's Creed 2 OST.
There are others, but these are the big ones.

Normally I'll be playing Fear Factory, Heaven Shall Burn, Children of Bodom, Machinehead, 3 inches of blood, Cradle of Filth, or just the Redrum Radio in another window if I'm feelin' like a mix. I love it heavy though, especially when on my brute. \m/ (>_<) \m/

Generally I have my own mix running, although from 8-6 every day that mix is on w00t Radio too. I'm a soundtrack junkie most days, but occasionally I'll need to switch to some flavor of rock for a really big fight.

But like someone said earlier, I haven't heard the music in CoH/V in many years at this point.

The one soundrack that really gets me 'into the game' on some missions and heavy duty difficult missions is the "Dark Knight" soundtrack music. If you haven't tried it, give it a go; to me and a few online friends, it's a perfect fit for the game.

I'm not a big soundtrack guru, but I have to admit, the Dark Knight Soundtrack has the right motivating and epic sound you'd hope to hear in place of the current tracks for in-game mishes.

I also use Windows Media Player with a playlist of heavy metal, rock, rock accoustic, or some alternative music to listen to depending on mood.

The Cape Radio is also a great source, pending the style/selection at the time.

Spotify keeps me sane if I'm on an 8man team, Speed Boost has a strange karmic balance with blues/soul classics. Solo I usually turn game sounds on full to stay careful/alert etc.

I usually have the game music set to 0, the other sounds set low but not off, and have Pandora Radio playing with what ever I'm in the mood for Done this for a while now, I've pretty much forgotten what the game music sounds like.

I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, Keep me here!

It depends. Sometimes I'll have w00t radio running... or I'll have a soundtrack mixed together.

Speaking of which, I published my mix with iTunes...

I don't. I'm more comfortable with the game sounds. I tried listening to my own music while playing, but I love my music library so much that I get distracted by it. I'll be trying to all dance and sing along and then I'll get plastered by an elite boss and ****. It just ain't worth it.

The first few words of this thread's title had me excited, but then the rest of the title killed the mood.

No, it really shouldn't be. I've no desire to see anyone else's, erm, parts thank you. Or talk about what I do with mine.

I tend to stick to the ingame music. Mostly because I've no music on Craptop due to lack of HD space (soon to be fixed with a wee bit of investment in at least a 500Gb laptop disk, larger if I can find it)

That is awesome. Thought I don't get distracted like you do, I think I can understand where you're coming from. Sometimes when I'm in the right mood and the right song comes on, I get more interested in the song then whatever activity I have going on in game.
