In the words of Douglas Adams.
"So long, and thanks for all the fish." -
You mean more demure or playful poses for women such as what you see in the other MMOs? The hips tilted one side, the shoulders another, the little sway back and forth while waiting for something to happen. That semi-impatient look from the end of the "waiting" pose?
Basically it's an "attitude" option. That what you're looking for?
I'd be /signed for it but I don't think the devs would be putting too much attention into it. It's like the girth-slider; nice to have, but when compared to bug fixes and new content, it's not that big of a priority. -
Okay, I don't know if anyone else came up with this idea, but I'm going to go ahead and suggest it anyway.
I realize that between the email system and the trading system, the whole idea of having the Vault Reserve for storage is sort of redundant. Okay, it's a nice Day Job location, but it's not exactly universal like the AE buildings are, or the hospitals and infirmary stations.
So my thought was... why not give the Vault a new purpose besides just a Day Job location?
I kept on thinking about all of those Vanguard Merits and Reward Merits some of my characters have accrued over the various missions, and some of them are really useless. For instance, the Vanguard Merits... they're nice for buying the Vanguard armor pieces, unless you already have all of them. Then there's not too much you can do with them.
We can't SELL these Merits. We can't TRADE them with other people. We can't EMAIL them. All we can do is hold on to them and maybe use them.
So my thought was, why NOT be able to exchange it?
This is where the Vault Reserve would come in. In addition to providing storage services, why not have the Vault officials serve as Exchange Agents for Merits? Go to a Vault Reserve (or Imperial Bank or Storage Assistant in Praetoria) and talk to that person, and they can offer to exchange a Merit or a Tailor Coupon for either another Merit/Coupon that the character would have access to. So if they accumulated Reward Merits but need a few Vanguard Merits to buy that costume piece, they could exchange Merits at the Vault Reserve. But if they're not Incarnates, they wouldn't be able to exchange Reward Merits or Vanguard Merits for Incarnate Merits.
Right now I'm thinking it would be a Merits-for-Merits exchange. I don't think the Devs would be willing to do an exchange for Inf or Prestige. PLUS it would give actual meaning to the whole "Banker" Day Job position for the Vault!
What do you guys think? -
Quote:Funny, I was just thinking about this yesterday as a possible "Freedom Freebie" or "Twitter Thursday" item.I was thinking of making a djinni to ride my magic carpet and I came to a horrifying realization. We don't have a turban. Or a vest without a shirt. Or a fez. In fact, we could use some more mythological type costume parts in general.
Living the dream of the forty thieves? Wanna look like you escaped from one of Sinbad's journeys? Sultan Haroun al-Raschid sent you on an eternal quest? Discovered the Key of Solomon and now you have amazing powers of dust and wind? You're stalking the night, one of the wretched ghuls? Maybe you were cursed by an ifrit!
There could be a whole series of these, and with the high quality of our recent costume sets, they could be really amazing.
Think of it. African mythology. Aztec. Russian. Lots of boss costume ideas hiding in those mythologies.
Just spitballing here. Anybody think this'd be a good idea? -

Maybe that's one of the things that gets fixed with tomorrow's four-hour patch.

You may also want to check the comic archives - http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/media-...comic-archive/
Issue 16 from the Top Cow version of CoH shows the Praetorian version of Paragon City.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Rikti DID try to invade the Praetorian Earth, but they were quickly turned away. Maybe they realized that the Praetorian Hamidon and Devouring Earth did more damage than they ever could? -
FUNNY you should mention that... someone recently pointed me to a website that has those old ads.

Sorry guys - you'll just have to Google it.

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the Mission Architect test window not appearing when testing missions.
I can still do slash-commands for the basic functions, but I have not seen a slash-command to end or quit the mission, so that function does not appear. -
How about moving the tailor inside and letting us get our new look there instead of having to change out in the middle of the street?
Oh, wait, I forgot, we're supposed to have "nothing to hide". -
Here's an interesting suggestion for the Paragon Market:
How about offering costume accessory packs?
These would not be full costume sets, but rather accessory pieces such as gloves, belts, shoulder, chest details and boots.
For instance, the first pack could involve Ouroboros-themed costume pieces, so players would be able to have the same devices as the Menders and acolytes of Ouroboros. Other accessory pack themes would include Crey, Knives of Artemis, Gold Brickers, and Rikti.
And because these would not be full costume sets, they could be marketed at half the PP of a normal costume set.

It took a long time before dual pistols became an option.
Same for shields.
Same for Demon Summoning.
Same for Power/Color Customization.
Same for Titan Weapons.
Next up is Staff Fighting.
So I would hope at some point a Moon Zone would become MMO reality.
Sadly, though, I suspect we'll see another often-requested item before then...
CLOWN SUMMONING! -
That's a question I have to ask myself, since some of the computer I use are stuck with Intel graphics and those chipsets were retired.
And no, getting a new computer just to play City of Heroes is NOT IN THE CARDS! -
Quote:/signed on the music./signed
I don't think I've ever been in a club that has remained the same for so long. PD definitely needs a makeover (and if it's really so secret, new access points) and change the bloody music already!!!!
Also /signed on the idea of a "summer zone", as long as it's done right. -
Actually if you read one of the comic series over at the City of Comic Creators website, you'll find at least ONE MORE child of Marcus Cole out and about.

Have a few suggestions for Mission Architect which may be a bit tricky for the devs, but I think would really improve the overall experience.
1. Specific Map Placement - As it stands right now, when you add in a boss or an object to a map, you're given a general placement area, and the program randomly places the object(s) there.
But there are some map locations where you should have a specific placement of objects or characters. For instance, in Tyrant's cave, you should be able to put a boss character in front of his throne, if not sitting ON the throne itself. Or having a giant monster be where you would EXPECT a threat like that to be instead of some distant corner of the map.
I don't suggest being able to do that to all objects, but certainly for "Defeat a boss" or "Giant Monster" options we should be able to specifically place them on the map.
2. Mob-Generator - I would love to add mobs as an option to a mission to add a little confusion, or to make things a challenge. (The TPN mission inspired this one.) You would be able to customize the mobs so they can be generated after a certain event, or be already on the map.
Kinds of mobs:
Passive - crowds of people just standing in the area. (See City Hall in the "new" Atlas Park.)
Rally - crowds standing and cheering. (The "Going Rogue" launch video for an example.)
Protest - crowds holding picket signs. (See the protesters in the "new" Atlas Park.)
Scattered - the people are all running around. (This is currently in some of the normal missions already.)
Riot - the crowds will actually attack you with rocks and pipes. (This is similar to the "Call Posse" power in the Thug mastermind powerset.)
3. New Maps - I love seeing the old Atlas Park go through the changes, but I would really love seeing the NEW Atlas Park in missions as well. Also, maybe the devs can bring back the Outbreak map? There was A LOT of that area that really went unused back when it was the tutorial for heroes that would be a great option for MA designers. Speaking of which, I would also like to see the new Galaxy City map as an option.
Okay guys, what do you think? -
One of the add-on programs called "Splasher" allowed you to substitute the music for the boombox and Pocket D. I don't know if that still works, but you can give it a try if you know where to look.
-
The idea has been proposed before. And of course I'd have to say /signed as well, although I think someone would point out that supergroups were "never intended" for solo players.
But it would also work to recruit other people who are off-line, so if you knew that Samson Sledge was on that server, you didn't have to wait for them to be online at the same time you are to recruit them.
The downside, though, is that you could potentially get deluged with off-line offers once you do log in, and I don't know how that would affect certain players. -
Quote:I think what would have helped would be when NCSoft comes up with a way to market Paragon Points like they used to do with game time cards.Indeed, it only takes 1 purchase of $5 to unlock chat.
Even that small of a barrier though, gets them in the mindset of; "This is only going to be worth it if I shell out the cash to be ViP..."
Then the feeling in game rams the point home even further.
I'm not saying everything should be free, that would be stupid. But with the Dev stated goal of designing everything for ViP's because we are still their primary focus, I think they aren't getting the true feeling of what it feels like to come on board completely new. That more than a few of the RL friends I talked into giving it a shot, had the same complaint upon quiting, that it felt like the free and premium levels were nothing more than a glorified trial tells me all I needed to know.
Old debate is old though.
Sony managed to do this with DCUO, allowing people to buy the cards in places like WalMart and choose to apply them either to their VIP time or as store points.
I know this is something that was brought up on another thread (sorry, you'll have to do a little search to find it), but sufficient to say, being able to get a gift card and apply that and, even for a month or so, be VIP and be able to unlock some more of the items would work wonders on its appeal. -
