New female poses

Question and suggestion, is it possible to make the females less heroic in stance and more feminine with legs closed and hands more to the side? If so, I would like to suggest this. I am sure the triumphant pose is cool to some, but it loses it's luster after a few years.

I hope not.

I hate typing suggestions. I am just asking basically for new poses when the character is standing still.

New poses as options? Sure, I guess. Standard code rant, etc, though.

As a replacement for the current pose? Hell no.

.... well, most don't want to go "Hey, check out what's up my skirt" to everyone in front of them. Which is how most of the male sit poses would turn out.

FWIW, yes, they used to be pretty much the same. At least back in I3. Which really annoyed me on my female characters... as *they wouldn't sit* like that. (Yes, I do tend to be aware of these things, mom was a model and, later, modeling instructor, so things like sitting properly, color, etc. are what I grew up around.)

You mean more demure or playful poses for women such as what you see in the other MMOs? The hips tilted one side, the shoulders another, the little sway back and forth while waiting for something to happen. That semi-impatient look from the end of the "waiting" pose?

Basically it's an "attitude" option. That what you're looking for?

I'd be /signed for it but I don't think the devs would be putting too much attention into it. It's like the girth-slider; nice to have, but when compared to bug fixes and new content, it's not that big of a priority.

Because I like the stance we have in this game, and don't like the stances in some other games.

I mean, I could explain why I DON'T want my 7'-tall metahuman brawler Red Vigor to look demure and traditionally effeminate when she's about to beat a platoon of Nazi supersoldiers into submission with her bare hands. But I don't think it really needs much explaining, honestly. And as a subjective preference I don't actually need to justify it at all. I like it. Period. The end.

You don't like it, which is fine, and that's why I wouldn't mind options. But when your suggestion is "take away things Hopeling likes", I move from "slightly to the favorable side of indifferent" towards "hell no".

Because there are more than likely far more people who like it the way it is. Seems simple enough to me. *shrugs*

I wouldn't be against your suggestion as an ADDITION to the game. It could probably be relatively easily added as a new stance emote. But there's rarely ever going to be a legitimate reason to outright REPLACE something like this in the game, especially since these kinds of things have been working well enough for over eight years now.

Heroin-ick sounds accurate.

Women are addictive and they make men feel good . . . for a little while, but then the feelings gone and they make you feel lousy until you get them to give you another fix. Unfortunately the euphoric feeling you used to get starts to wane and you have to find another dealer. The viscious cycle continues until they put men into their graves.

Thank you for the positive feedback(sarcasm). I am getting really sick and tired of coming into these forums and getting reactions like I just kicked their dog and insulted their moms. I am really sick of people thinking I am attacking them when I either make a suggestion or ask a stupid question. I am not asking you to justify anything to me, just asked a STUPID question to help me understand why such a thing would not BE a good idea so then I can drop it. If your having a bad day, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON ME! Attitude like this is why in the years I have reading the forums I never posted much if at all because people think this is World of Warcraft forums that any suggestion is stupid and a personal attack and that they need project it at the OP. Fine I will remain silent and not post again, give any ideas or suggestions or an opinion because some people get upset(had to clean it up) over it and recommend to others not to post too.

You seem to be the one with the attitude problem and overreacting.

Hopeling was more than willing to support your suggestion as long as he was allowed to choose not to use it over the original stances.

He never said it was a bad idea, just that he wants to be able to keep using the original stances.

Oh but that's not good enough for you, is it. There's no room for compromise with you. It just completely incomprehensible to you that there may be people that like the original stances and don't want to lose them.

No it has to be your way and anyone that doesn't agree with you 100 percent is just giving you an excuse to throw a temper tantrum.

If this is how you react to people willing to compromise and support an idea you suggested,

then this is probably for the best. I'd hate to see the tantrum you'd throw if they weren't willing to offer a compromise.

None of what he said was an attack, none of what you quoted was even attack worthy. Get your knickers out of a knot and calm down. Most people here have been supportive of the idea SO LONG AS IT DOESN'T REPLACE THE CURRENT IMPLIMENTATION. What is wrong with that? What part of "Hey, we can both have what we want!" caused you to go into this little passive aggressive fit?

I Do have to say while initially I did not know a thing about comics when I first came to CoX I have learned a great deal.. and part of that is.. well being a hero looking triumphant! Saying that Yeah i would enjoy some added stances(like the hero/villain ones) That you could turn on and off when you want/need to.

My Gosh! Some of the responses were darn right positive. You sorta make a lot of assumptions about Hopeling's intentions. I mean i could have made some assumptions about your posts (Like you want all the females to be demure submissive kittens parading around) But I read..-really- read your posts. Then waited Instead of making some emo filled post about your idea.

These forums are -nothing- like WoW forums if they were you would have gotten responses like " omg u r so dumb lolz" or " Omg yes yes yes mak chickz teh seski!!!111one"

Have you read some of the other suggestions ? there are some where the suggestion just gets riped apart into tiny pieces! Had Hopeling, Forbin or Lolthic actually went after you , you would know it.

I don't really mind our current poses for females..

That being said, I would also welcome new additional (I.E. Optional) poses that spiced things up a bit and gave more options. "Casual" and "Feminine" poses come to mind.

Might as well spread the love to the Males and Huge though. "Casual" could work for all 3, with maybe "Hulking" as an option for Huge

There have been other MMO's that did this, and it was a nice little addition.

Because of the variety of characters (male, female, alien, robotic, etc...) as well as the variety of players, the basic stance probably needs to stay more or less neutral so as to mostly fit with player concepts without stretching the imagination too much. Any changes would be best as e-motes like the different flying poses so that people wouldn't be stuck with something that doesn't fit their concept. Perhaps some different running, jumping, and swimming e-motes would be a good idea.

I apologize if that came across as an attack. It was not intended that way. You asked why I would want to keep it, I answered. And I wanted to emphasize the point that aesthetic preferences are not about being right and wrong. You can't prove me wrong about my preferences, and neither can I disprove yours, because that's not how preferences work. I like things a certain way, and you like them a different way.

The point of a suggestion is not to get exclusively positive feedback. It's to point out the positive AND negative implications of the suggestion, so that the suggestion can be refined to something better and more widely supported. Stance options would be outstanding, not just so that I can have a heroic stance and you can have a feminine one, but also because the same system could be used for other stances (and not necessarily just for women). Bestial crouch without using Beast Run? We could do that. Silly Deadpool swagger? That too. A stiff Robot/Frankenstein-type lumber? That would also be possible. And so on.

I would love to have more stance options for all character models.

I would hate to have current stances replaced with different stances.
