New female poses
I do find it annoying that a lot of women's sit poses aren't ported over from males.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Question and suggestion, is it possible to make the females less heroic in stance and more feminine with legs closed and hands more to the side? If so, I would like to suggest this. I am sure the triumphant pose is cool to some, but it loses it's luster after a few years.

I'm with you Golden..While I am not massive feminist It did kinda ..strike me wrong at first, But after reading more I think i see what he is saying.
I Do have to say while initially I did not know a thing about comics when I first came to CoX I have learned a great deal.. and part of that is.. well being a hero looking triumphant! Saying that Yeah i would enjoy some added stances(like the hero/villain ones) That you could turn on and off when you want/need to. |
I got such a creepy vibe off it, in fact, that to be polite, I did not type out my first response, which would have been extemely hostile. I waited until others came int the thread, and their responses kinda confirmed the bad vibe, but were polite anyway.
And then reading further, to find out that my impression was that OP really did want to change all my heroes (I don't use the word heroine for my female characters) to some sort of demure schoolgirls or sex kitten poses - UGH! The best spin on the poses OP describes as his(?) request sounds like "Hey, here I am on the red carpet - please take a picture of my fabulous dress!?"
What is this - the 1950's? We've come a long way, baby! (dating myself a bit, aren't I?)

I'm in favor of more variety in stances, running and walking styles, and idle emotes. And I'd like the ability to modify the ones that any particular character uses, so that I can customize my toons more. I'd love to be able to have my Super Reflexes tanker "You Can't Hit Me" have more of a skipping Run animation (like "tra-lala-lala"), and follow that up with automatic selection of juggle emotes when idle.
I'd like my robotic (limbed) characters to make a more metallic sound when landing from a jump or other drop, rather than the more generic thud. I'd like my little War Faerie to make a tiny girl voice, or my smaller Huge model characters to have normal Male voices while the 7' 6" Male model characters to have Huge voices, but only the ones I want to have that way.
Variety and options are almost always welcomed and embraced by the City community, but "changes" are not always going to be viewed in the same light, often by large portions of the populace. So just because you and a bunch of others think something should be changed, doesn't mean that you won't face significant vocal opposition. In a situation like this, much better to offer a way out than to insist on your only solution.

Seeing the female perspective being voiced, which I honestly hadn't considered, (sorry ladies) I'm starting to wonder if the OP went ballistic on Hopelings benign post as a way to bail on his suggestion without addressing the concerns of our female population.
Then again maybe I'm reading too much into his last response.
If you take two portmanteaus and make a third portmanteau would that be a portmantwice or a portmanthrice?

.... well, most don't want to go "Hey, check out what's up my skirt" to everyone in front of them. Which is how most of the male sit poses would turn out.

Just want to understand not attacking anyone, but why keep it? The MMO women in those do not stand like the ones in this game, why not change it?

*edit*
That's not to say I'd mind base animation customization. Far from it, in fact. I've always wanted to customize my stances, running, jumping and flying animations, or at least have a wider selection of stance emotes. But that doesn't seem to be the question here. The question, as I read it, is why should our women not act like what other MMOs perceive women as acting like, i.e. "Why won't my hips unsway?" The answer is pretty simple - that's just one depiction which is no more or less justified than what we have here. In fact, it's actually a little LESS justified since that behaviour package assumes a photoshoot model more so than an actual combatant.
Basically, I'm all for more customization and all against outright replacing of stuff.
