Looking for a girlfriend who plays COH/COV

This is my idea for finding a girl friend who plays City of Heroes or Villains. I have dated many woman that DON'T play any kind of MMO's. But at some point the relationship gets to be a pain. Eventually my girl friends have wanted me to either stop playing or play less. I don't think that is right them telling or suggesting me what to do. I leave those kinds of relationships because I sense too much control on their part towards me. So I was thinking I should maybe find a woman who understands about MMO's and maybe City of Heroes/Villains. So I was thinking as usuing this thread as my idea to find a female between the ages of 32-46 of any race. I am a 46 year old latino father to a 13 year old little girl. I don't mind if you have a child(s). I live in California somewhere in the Los Angeles area. San Fernando Valley to be exact. That is about 15 miles west of L.A. So someone near that area or nearby would be perfect. I am serious about this and I just would like to make my next relationship easier. I don't want the hassles I normally have with explaining about being a MMO player.

Words of wisdom; You do not want relationship advice from gamers.

Not really an appropriate post for the Suggestion forums though.

Oh, and on a side note, I'd be careful of that "any race" clause.

While most of the cat-girls or cross-dimensional-elf-girls are OK; the hydra-girls, banished pantheon zombie-girls, and viper-girls usually leave a lot to be desired in the relationship department

Age 20s is not ok?

I think it's pretty reasonable to expect your future romantic interest to share other of your interests, including your gaming interests.

Not sure why they have to be 32-46 though. They can be 14 years younger than you but not one year older? This is a double standard that women gamers will not like much and might make them dismiss you as a possible boyfriend.

I am a woman in my early 40s who plays MMOs and married to a gamer husband who is 2 years younger than me. So I know of what I speak

Do they have to be female in real life, or just in game?

I wish you the best of luck. My wife is a gamer as well. We went to Hero Con 1 even (missed 2 cuz of a play BAH!). And I am blessed to have her. My only suggestion is that, because we still argue now and again as to how much we play, it's a timing thing. Sometimes you do have to step away for real life (sorry fanbois, but you do) for eachother. But I CAN see why you want a girlfriend who does game. It sure makes things a bit easier. Good luck to you sir, I hope true love jumps up and smacks ya in the face.

I think this is rather obvious. He wants the girl to have her tier nine primary, but not high enough to slot purples and be better than him.

If you're dating women who say you're spending too much time on the game:

If you play an hour or two a few nights a week when your other responsibilities are done (taking care of your daughter, working, finished with any chores that need to be done around the house), then yes, she's probably being a little too overbearing.

If you play several hours a night almost every day of the week and/or neglect her, your daughter, work or chores, then I'm guessing you probably let a few "keepers" get away.

Anyway, best of luck to you, Mr. Myysty.

And to all you single ladies out there, I'm turning 30 next month, and would be happy to make the acquaintance of any 25-35 year old women who are interested in casual gaming with a decent guy who has a full-time job and a reasonably clean apartment.

I agree. However, I also think that part of making a relationship with someone you like work is making compromises. I say find someone you like and don't worry whether they play CoH or any game at all. If they like you as well, they'll at least try out your hobby, even if they ultimately decide they don't enjoy the pastime. And if they don't, so what? You don't need to play the game 24/7; take some time off and spend it with your partner

I took a gamer girls off the market a little over four years ago, and have no regrets Best of luck to you.

Also, beware those Facebook game aps - it can be all downhill from there

Speaking of gamer girls, I was also lucky enough to take one off of the market 10 years ago.

Having someone who not only shares your interests, but shares them to the same degree that you do is both a blessing and (sometimes) a curse

Why just last night, as I went to bed, she was playing Dragon Age. I woke up this morning to "Arrgh, boom, swash, boom, zap" . . . she'd been playing all night. I walk into the living room and she's like "what are you doing up?" and I'm like "honey, it's 6 AM" . . .

Girl Gamers, gotta love em. Just don't let them take over the PS3

It can happen:

I met a woman at a bar about 10 years ago and during casual conversation we divulged that we were both shopping for new computers. I was reticent to admit that I wanted it for gaming but when I did spill the truth, she gushed, "ME TOO!" Now we're married and have 4 computers and 6 monitors on side-by-side desks. She got so heavily into Everqeust raiding for awhile, that I had to fix and serve dinner for her at the computer five nights a week... while playing my own games.

Good luck, OP.

On a side note, i think i'll place an ad also.

I'm a married 34yo male. My wife is 31 and also plays CoH when not at school. We would love to find a girlfriend for the both of us that plays CoH, too. Although, playing CoH isn't a must, just something to have in common to start. PM if interested and we can cover basics from there. East Coast is a must.

I completely agree with Fleeting. There has to be compromise in any relationship, and even if you both play the same MMO, it doesn't mean it's going to work out.

I do wish you luck, though, OP!

@Anasthesia is my gamer girl, and along with City, she plays WoW, DDO, SiN, HL2/HL2: DM, NWN, Halo, Fable, Assassin's Creed and a few others.
She's also been off the market for 10 years now, and luckily I found her when she was mere level 21 and I was 28.

Speaking as a former gamer girl (now a gamer wife), I wish you luck, but if I had been single and read this, I would have laughed. CoH isn't a dating service, although there are plenty of successful marriages that have come out of MMOs (I'm in one).

I'd say look for someone in game but that's so chancy these days (especially if you play on Virtue).

Might I suggest one of the many geek dating services instead?
