One thing I've noticed, is relationships made through online, when they get to the boyfriend/girlfriend level, tend to last (if they make it past the general internet psycho determination period.)

You know what's kind of surprised me?

That the all-mighty Ocho has let this thread continue as long as it has.

I figure it's one of two things:

1) Ocho's head has 'sploded from the epicness of this thread . . .

2) Ocho is lying on the floor, curled into a fetal position from the
paroxysm of laughter that has ensued . . .

I have to agree with this. I met my girlfriend online, not through CoH but she happens to play which was actually what part of our first conversation consisted of. All in all she's the most awesome girl ever (took me 30 years to find a girl I could have an intelligent conversation with) but the similar interest in video games makes for a huge difference. e.g. I asked her something last week and she said "hang on, I can't pause this"... do you know how FREAKING AWESOME it is to have a girl say that to you when most can't comprehend that same statement?! lol

Ultimately, most relationships fail because of how they start which is usually due to some kind of physical attraction... which I do think is necessary but if there's no common ground other than that it eventually comes to light just how shallow the relationship really is and it becomes dooooomed.

As far as meeting people through a game, a very good friend of mine met his girlfriend of several years through FFXI and they're quite happy together, and they both play CoX :P

But that allows you to move onto the next hollow but physically attractive relationship without looking like a jerk, amirite?

If that's you're goal then yes you're correct lol but it gets old... trust me.

I've been through the gauntlet when it comes to women, if I went into detail about the amount of crazy and stupid I've seen nobody would believe me.

Having found a good woman after many years of searching I'm reminded of a spiel by Ron White that ends with "you can't fix stupid". When I think back to all my ex's I'm reminded of this over and over and I will leave one detail... walking outside with one of my ex's I pointed out a dead bird that had clearly been mauled by a cat or some other animal... she turns and looks at me and says "did it fall?" I really wish I were making that up... especially since I married that one >.<
