When do you like to walk?

Recently I heard of a different use for Walk. Walk allows for fortune cards to stack their effects whenever you recieve to different types; getting the same card twice still negates the previous application. It's a bug for sure, but it's there.
Lately, I've taken to walking in AP whenever I'm just wasting time. Usually it's back and forth from the SG Portal to Wentworths, but it's kinda funny to use Walk.

Plus it detoggles me, and I usually run between 4-9 toggles on most toons. So its a whole lot of no fun to retoggle them just to shake my money maker on lady toons for the lulz. If I really want to see a wiggle, i just call my wife into the room for some made up task, then say nevermind once shes here- then watch her walk out in a huff- this provides the same type of mesmerizing booty fun, but its in real time, and I dont have to retoggle after she yells at me. |

I use it to power down fast (shut off all toggles with one click); it's perfect for Wentworths, because I don't have to worry about accidentally firing off one of my powers when I try to type a number; and I like it for roleplaying; btw, I think it looks good (on female toons).

I know this is a very old thread, but I arrived here after specifically Googling "City of Heroes female walk". My main character is female and I designed her to look attractive. Since I discovered her ability to walk and saw how she does it, I think I'm in love...
I can see how some people might have female characters for whom the walk animation doesn't fit. But I could watch mine walk for a hundred miles without getting bored.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Well hai thar!
The female walk certainly is hypnotic.

I've never used it. Literally not once. I don't want to move slower, I want to move faster.
I never walk, and I am frustrated at any point int he game where I am forced to walk.

I use walk for 2 things
1)If I'm standing around idling for an extended period of time and don't want to be irritated by the panacea +Hp 65's floating up over my head at random (It turns the proc off)
2)In a PvP zone when I'm helping friends get their PvP Fusion Generator for their base so I can die faster.
Edit:Blast! Caught by Necro.
I'll use it rarely; every once in a while usually at the end of play session when I'm done with real play, just to watch it. Like Sam, I do find it wonderful to watch, but I'm a bit self-conscious when 'walking' in front of other players. It feels like a deliberate 'look at me' statement, or even an invitation to RP (which I'm very self-conscious about).
Even so, if it didn't de-toggle everything I could see myself using it more here and there, when waiting on stragglers to arrive, etc., or doing the 'walk down the hall' during a mish Thing. But having to re-toggle everything renders all these opportunities moot.
Edit: didn't realize this was such an old thread lol
I tend to walk when the situation demands it, like the news conferance in the SSA, peace discussions and austere occasions such as Statesmans death. Not quite due to roleplaying, but more that it would be disrespectful to be running about at a conferance.
Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)
Generally, when strolling through the supergroup base. Sometimes when wandering around a hub area waiting for teammates to arrive.
Otherwise, not very often.
And I *really* don't understand people who get turned on by cartoons.
Slightly old thread, indeed....
Though I did get some comments from a (smaller) team in a mission a while back when I'd immobilized an enemy, then just casually [walk]ed up and finished them off. They loved it.
the ONLY time I've ever used walk in this game was as part of a costume contest- these folk were running an RP CoH take on Project Runway called Taskforce: Runway. My ma/sr scrapper made the finals and they invited us all to their base, which included a very impressive recreation of the Project Runway stage.
Everyone else was walking, so I dug around and found the power out of respect for all their effort.

I use walk for three things. First, if I want to shut down all of my toggles really quickly. Second, for screenshot caps.
And third, whenever I want to look awesome. My favorite place to walk is currently at the beginning of the final phase of the DD trial.

I used Walk briefly a couple of times in my SG base the other day, on characters I was moving to new day job locations (via base teleporters), just to see what the walking animation looked like (it looked better on my female villain than on the male ones I tried it on).
However because Walk turns off toggles (instead of suppressing them) I doubt I would ever use it outside of safe areas like the SG base - indeed I have removed Walk from those characters' hotkey bars and will probably never use it again - I don't RP or make machinima, so I really don't have much reason to use Walk, though I am glad the Devs added it for those who enjoy such pursuits.
