When do you like to walk?

I like to use walk when the team is waiting for somebody or something to happen. Favorite response to that animation with this character, "bAss, you're turning me into a lesbian."

This is actually the character that I will most likely use the Walk on fairly often in a nutshell. She is an AI from the 26th century -- in her own time she is a hologram and cannot be touched anyway -- and her partner programmed her to be alluring specifically to distract teenaged gang punks. It's not that she's disconnected from her body, it's that she knows that there's nothing anyone can do to take advantage of her. So at some level it amuses her to play with the "flesh creatures" and make their hormones make fools out of them.

OTOH, she's not really cruel about it. It's a combat tactic, so when she's not in combat, it's more of a game, or just joking around. If she's around friends or allies that get that it's a game, then she enjoys playing around with it. Otherwise, she does have a sense of modesty, and doesn't want to be thought of as going too far. She does like being flattered, though, but for the right reasons, not the wrong ones.

I did try out the walk on one of my male characters, just to see what it was like. It did help moving around the base without seeming like I was rushing everywhere, but at the same time it was maybe a bit too slow. Turning it on and off seemed to be the most useful. And I haven't tried it on the Huge model yet, I'll have to try that.

The only time I've played with it so far is when I wanted to accentuate my favourite cool moment in the game - i.e. walking into the main square of Grandville as the Spider City music kicks in. Never fails to make me think 'oh yes, we're in the big leagues now.'

It's fun

Running about like a child... I love it I've never really been able to put into words what bothers me about running everywhere, but I think this sums it up pretty well.

Hmmm; I just tried Walk on Unseelie Sprite, my minimum-height fairy-themed female Dominator. It looks kind of odd on her since small characters move faster to make up for their small size.

thought turning WW's into a power suppression spot like that room in the AE buildings nobody ever goes into would've been good, but maybe just have the brokers emanate a small range "Walk" aura to forcibly detoggle you when you're in the market...not as big a problem as it used to be since there seems to be less people hanging out rocking their autofire heal auras or whatever nowadays. good healz0ring.
Interestingly enough, Walk is the only power you can use in Studio B.

Actually the other day I tried out walk with a zombie built on female chassis, Quark Zombie:

Ay,yi,yi! Radioactive mummies simply shouldn't walk like that! Breaks some law of physics I'm sure!

It was free, an requsted by RPers not even plays the game to kick ****.

I'm not a RPer, Never use it, but think that it was a good FREE power to help out a community

Not everyone wants to run everywhere even if they are a super hero.

I walk when I rp
I walk when I am in my base.. unless I fly building
I walk to show off costumes
I walk...

It is an em/power/travel we didnt had. A hole in the way we could move around. And that had to be made eventually. To set this game at same pace with other ones.

I would use walk more often if it had some tactical use. When you use walk, it shuts off all powers and darkens your trays. It feels like I'm going into "Stealth Mode". Maybe if they added a stealth component to walk, more people would use it.

I pulled the trigger. That's right, I did it, in Warburg, with the pistol. - Mista Chains

Everyone know the Tank Archetype get the most drops of all the types. This is because of their "Death Dealing" powers. I call it the front line bonus...but you'll never read this in the wiki - "Rx10"

I use it when I put my characters in their "civillian" clothes. That way they can walk down an alley and "change". Or I'm parking them for the day and logging off.

I showed the walk animation to my spouse once. That's been it.

A stealth component would be a remarkably unproductive addition to walk, and for one simple reason: Stealth has two points - either to fight without drawing aggro, or to pass by enemies without fighting them. You can't fight while Walk is active and you move FAR too slow for it to be a meaningful way to pass by enemies. And it doesn't make sense for a simple stroll to hide you enemies you are in plain sight of.

I've seen it suggested that Walk provide a recovery (and maybe regeneration) buff of some sort, since you are moving slowly and as such would be catching your breath, thereby acting like a constantly-available mini-Rest. It makes sense, but it sounds like Castle might do this at the concept, so I'm not holding my breath.

Personally, I'd actually want to see Walk respect weapons a little more, such that walking around with a sword does not constantly fillet my legs and walking around with a rifle possibly sees it carried in both hands. I don't necessarily expect to be able to fight in the mode, but I'd probably take that ability as a first choice.

I haven't used the walk emote/power much myself. I'll occasionally use it when I'm in the presence of RP'ers (like walking up to Father Time instead of running during the Winter Event preview), or when I'm on a female character in an instanced area by myself to watch her move around and indulge in the fanservice.

Every time Hami begins his glowie explosion thing. It's the perfect time for the dramatic walk away.

I use it for the dramatic crash on Power Surge. All my powers detoggle anyway, so I might as well look good doing it. It's like that super-cool strutting guy with an attitude.

Other than that, there was this one time I got so annoyed at the hostage failing to follow me......

I don't like to walk at all.
It moves way too slow; I don't know anyone under 70 who walks that slow or anyone over 18 who thinks that's how anyone would walk causally.

When do I walk? When I want to cause a scene.

Ha. Truthfully, when the mood strikes me or I'm running a 360 degree camera orbit around a a new costume to make sure it looks just right.

As for the female walk / streetwalker debate, I suppose that's just another thing best judged by the beholder. Some would look at this image and claim a point on the scoreboard:

I see athleticism, poise and creativity. When using this screenshot as my desktop wallpaper, I see a comic book cover.

As soon as they make it so walk simply suppresses toggles and doesnt detoggle everything entirely, then ill actually use it on a regular basis for everyday stuff.

Not very convenient atm, but i do like the idea of being able to walk (for rp/showing off/acting tough etc), but just me personally gonna wait till/if they ever update it.

I'd buy that for a dollar.

Then add one to your list. I'm 25 and, when I'm not trying to get anywhere specifically and just walking around, I walk even slower than that. And Walk in this game is most certainly not designed for those who need to get somewhere in a hurry.
