I can't help but think that this change was more of a quickfix and not fully thought through.
This is about the only problem I can actually see.

For anything else, bah humbug. I might be more inclined to care, but I'm allergic to nerd rage. Sorry, nothing I can do about it.

Nevermind, I are not reading well today.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

Tasks
  • Level 54 Archvillains / Heroes should now appear in Task / Strike Forces again.
  • Added restrictions to prevent player difficulty from affecting Task / Strike Forces
Your point? The standard trash is still +0/+1 on test. Its been tested.

I know, you caught that before I edited it. I wasn't paying attention. Work is distracting me today.

So the only options for TF's are those found when selecting an Ouro mish? ie buffed enemies, debuffed you, etc?

And you can't increase enemy level beyond default +0/1?

What about people that like fighting a sea of reds/purples on a specially formed Task Force Team? You know a team that has been designed to fight the toughest challenges the game offers?

Forgive me, but shutting off my ability to use inspirations and buffing even con enemies is not the same as jacking them up to +3. Even if the end result of difficulty is about the same fighting whites and yellows doesn't "feel" nearly as awesome (especially on a Task Force Team) nor do they reward commensurate with the difficulty as +cons do.

I personally want more challenge, but I personally want to be adequately and fairly rewarded for said challenge. That's why the Ouro settings were auto fail for me and from the sounds of it new TF's are going to be auto fail.

Unless I'm not reading it accurately, then please feel free to correct me.

You are reading correctly and this has been verified on test. It was in the Test Server Patch Notes for 9/24.

What task force difficulty options are you talking about Kit K?

Hopefully phase 2 of this fix is to add +level difficulty options in the TF challenge settings.

It's kind of annoying, because I have a bunch of Ouro badges left on my MM badger and I was hoping to put a decent dent in the next Infamy badge at the same time, but eh, I'll live. It'll take me a while to do all those Flashbacks and there might be other changes in the meantime.

I'm not.

I'm only sad about the bosses being demoted to LTs when soloing Ouro.

No. It's very obviously a bandaid fix that is going to be refined once they have the time to do it.

Besides, getting mad would be an overreaction regardless.

Nope. This is a game; why should I waste the energy to get mad at a game?

And besides, I run TFs for badges, costume parts, and merits. Last I checked, difficulty level of said TF wasn't tied to any of those. And barring specifically-mentioned Invincible runs, I can't recall a TF team I've ever been on exclaiming that the difficulty should be turned up. As a matter of fact, most of the time, it's been the opposite: "Sorry guys, I forgot I was running on Invincible. I'll turn the difficulty down after this mission." And if someone actually asks if there's a difficulty preference among the group, the usual answer is "I don't care." And neither do I, really. Certainly not enough to be mad about it.

Now, I'd like it if we could keep our difficulty settings for Ouroboros stuff, but I understand that there are technical issues keeping this from being possible. As such, I'm content to wait for a solution to this. And if it never comes, so be it. Outside of going back for missed content, I use Ouroboros like I use TFs: for badges and merits. So this doesn't affect me that much.

Actually, I'm pleased. I don't mind doing a Strask Force at a higher difficulty level IF I'M FOREWARNED. But the overwhelming majority of S/TF leaders recruit without mentioning they're turning up the difficulty, and that's just rude.

And I'm with Kit on this: It's obvious that this is a stop-gap measure to keep people from using the new difficulty sliders from doing S/TFs at -1. It's much easier to code a shut-off for the sliders in S/TFs than to fiddle around with the slider coding itself which runs a huge risk of introducing a bug for *all* missions.

I'd like to see level and size difficulty sliders added to the S/TF interface, but, that will take time to code.

Of course the Devs rarely do the sensible thing, they like to use sledgehammers to kill flies.

The only problem I had with TFs and the new diff settings was the nonsense of people setting to -1 on Master runs and getting those badges. Not so much because of the -1, but because it was bugged so that it was reducing the level 54 AVs all the way down to level 49. That was plain wrong.

Of course, the Devs could just cure cancer, but unfortunately the Devs are too self-centered to do that!

Hang on, let me consult my internal diagnostics.

... Nope, sorry, don't give even a tiny percentage of a crap about that.

Damn those selfish Devs!
i am disappointed in that i like running TF's on max occasionally for the fun, but i have confidence that this is a temporary measure. Still, i understand the change with all the people running Master of <blah> on -1, which just cheapens it. i do hope this is very temporary. Some way to disable -1 setting for TF's would do it for me. Or maybe reinstate the old difficulty for S/TF's.

Nope, don't care. Then again, I solo an emp, so I'd never use these options anyways.

Plus the nerf is causing you to nerdrage, and I so do love to watch people get angry over nothing on the boards.

Please, continue to type words for my amusement.
