Sooo, patch on Wednesday. If it contains this bit, they are dead.

The patch will be the current test configuration.

I, personally, am very happy about the drop rate fix.

No doom here, sorry.

I defy you to provide a single example where updating computer code lead to the death of a human being(s).

Selfish aren't you? You can enjoy the game with the recipes still existing and dropping, but they are completely elminating something here.

Explain to me how the reverse isn't true also? You're freaking and jumping up and down because of a change that makes your game a bit less fun, and can't for a second see that on the whole A) the change isn't that bad and B) there are other good things coming that outweigh the pain for the time being. If Cat's the selfish one here, I need stronger meds.

So am I, except for those characters who are out of content and need Ouro to get those properly-dropping drops, since I find farming eye-gougingly dull.

Meh, they've waited around for increased difficulties, they've waited for the drop rate to be fixed, they can wait a little longer I guess.

Recipes are STILL dropping though. It isn't like they completely removed recipes a couple patches ago.

Wasn't your entire point that if people wanted to do something harder, they should get rewarded for it? You really are talking out of both ends now. Stop for a second and think about the number of people who run regular missions and use the difficulty system every day, and the number of people who run TFs. If you think for a second that TFs are the majority of the content run, then I've figured out who needs the stronger meds this time.

Simple fact is, this patch may not be the best solution, but it's helping the most possible peeps in the time they have. Until they can do better, then you're better off filing diligent, complete, and reasoned Bug Reports than you are ranting in the forum, calling people names, and implying that the people who made this patch deserve death.

See above. Like others, I think this is just temporary to eliminate the "Master of" on -1, but I'm sure you'll eventually be able to crank up the difficulty.

And like KitsuneKnight said, if you really cared about a challenge, you could always use the Ouro-like difficulty settings.
Repeating myself annoys me.

Challenge without equitable reward is stupid.

Yes, I also believe the devs will eventually put in a better solution than the one we're being given. When they do, I'll go back to running TF/SFs when the mood strikes me.

Until then, they'll be a boring waste of my time.

Be well, people of CoH.

Personally, I have seen a great many people *ASSUMING* that it is only a temporary measure. I hope that's true, as I think it's a bad move, but we haven't been told for sure.

Exactly. We still don't know how long it will take for them to relook at MA critter rewards ;D

I hope it is temporary. I liked doing 'invincible' ITFs and LGTFs and Oro missions.

I think Positron should've just made you take the maximum level bump difficulty option to earn Master of badges. I think he thinks of badges as a bit of a joke anyway (back when he put ONE of those Infected at the RV train just to shut up badgers before you could Ouro Isolator? lol)
Don't get why people get in such a twist over Master badges, honestly, not unless they get tied into an Accolade or costume unlocks. I assume it's the same people that get offended they don't have a Dev come and award them the rare Bug Hunter badge for finding a typo in an ancient blueside story arc or something.

As long as they don't touch the Difficulty slider for anything else. Subscription gets canceled if they decide to nerf Fun. I'll pick up Aion or something.

It's not just the Master badges. The lower difficulty makes speed runs even faster. People doing the -1 runs rack up merits like mad. Merit rewards get lowered, everybody else complains, and rightly so.

Then there's the fact that encounters that are designed as "the hardest encounters in the game" are trivialized to the point that my Scrapper got two tells this weekend inviting me to a MoITF run. Seriously, how many people actually seek out a PuG Scrapper on a Master of anything run?

You clearly don't play on Pinnacle. We'll run anything with anyone.

I've seen ITF and LGTF speed runs at 21 and 31 minutes. I don't see how -1'ing the enemies in the maps could possibly make them go faster. Heroic was already pretty incredibly easy, anyway, assuming your team wasn't 3/4 AE pl babies who don't know how to play the game outside of boss farms. but yeah, i expect Posi will get slashed to like 20 merits. More to do with the super awesome new sidekicking...wish the old blueside Phalanxer and Shard TFs would get overhauled to be more fun :/

The hardest encounter in the game is the Abandoned Sewer Trial imo. Requires actual teamwork (one teammate keeps blowing up their generator before the rest of the team is ready with theirs? you fail) and speed, not just building the right team and excluding ATs because they're 'dead weight'. My stalker, my MM? never gonna have a Master of Recluse. Master badges don't impress me...it's like, congratulations, you discovered the Holy Trinity. Welcome to MMOs of 10 years ago. Want a real master badge? All your fancy IO bonuses, gone. No defeats or temps allowed. +4 Buffed enemies only. Your team suffers Debuffed status. Badgers can be happy, won't be anybody but them to care enough to bother with it again.

And they probably helped with this..

I'm just waiting for a monster movie with a cast of pretty white kids being stalked and killed off one by one by race conditions.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Let me make it easy for you then. The AVs spawn at 49 instead of 53. All the hunts for EBs and ambushes and crystals go faster because everything spawns blue.
