Changes to APPs/PPPs
Why could they not have just added an extra power option to each set? I quite liked hurl boulder on my controller, it was a good power to slot cheap knockback protection in.

This was what I was wondering about APP/PPP's. Why not bump them up to 6 powers per pool. Keep the original powers for those that have builds built around concepts, and add in the new, more 'useful' powers as options.
The only reason I can think of is that APP/PPP's and normal Power Pools are hard coded in as being 4 powers, and the work involved in expanding pool sizes would be unreasonably large in comparison to the benefit.
I'm not personally impressed by several of the changes, myself, as my Archery/EM/Elec blaster's losing his ranged hold, my SS/Invuln/Soul Brute is losing his 'assistant' (90% theme reasons I'm annoyed by that, 10% usefulness), Focused Acc is getting gutted, IMO (changing from +20% tohit to +5% Tohit +30ish% Accuracy (unslotted)) is NOT a zero sum game in PVE as they seem to be claiming. Try hitting a high defence mob with ~+7.5% tohit slotted, compared to ~30% from the current FA (I'm thinking of Behemoths in a team situation, Rikti Drones, Capn Mako in the STF, Harlequin Fencer's that have got Parry off, various others, too). I think I can see why they've done it, but it bears all the hallmarks of PvP impacting PvE, and I really, REALLY don't want to start that old chestnut again.
I [u]DO[u] like the changes to MM upgrade powers. It'll massively reduce the time lag experienced by MM's at the start of missions. And since my MM is Staminaless and has his upgrades heavily end cost slotted already, it'll be a buff for him.
Sorry, I'm starting to rant. I haven't had a chance to actually play the changes yet, I'm reacting off gut feeling. And unfortunately, my gut is sending me little reminders from the days of I5, saying 'you're going to have to change how you play, again'
At this point, I'll just refer any readers to my sig and leave any further comment until later, if ever, once I've discussed it with other people to get their take on it.

That'll teach me to remember that beta means that things can still change. However, based on long and cynical experience, I'm not expecting major alterations during public Beta.

...What? I have an Elec/Elec/Elec and Shocking Bolt's one of my favourite powers both for looks and usage (No Tesla Cage. Heck, I cant even remember what that power's called). EMP was also handy on occasions, great when surrounded as it's essentially an off button for the bad guys.
This hurts my brain. What on God's green earth do we need Conserve Power for?

Em pulse i was never a big fan of but why remove shocking bolt it was a very handy hold, replaced by CP that is a waste of time CP dosnt last long and by the time your at a lvl to pick it end shouldnt be a problem.

Must admit I am gutted over shocking bolt, plus being elec, why on earth would i need conserve power?
I also misread the whole thing and was hoping my fire corruptor would be able to get Fire Mastery or something which obviously isnt happening

So, it looks like they know we're unhappy about some of these changes, and they might be doing something about. I suppose it's wait and see what they come up with next. Fingers crossed they do a better job of sorting out the PPPs this time.

(Focussed Accuracy issue still stands though... but I can see why it was changed. I use it on a Tank and two Scrappers, but it IS overpowered in comparison to other first-tier Epic pool picks. And not just in PvP)

Seems just one power "becomes available" at level 43 (so you'd get to pick it at 44)

And now my main villain has also been messed with without any need/want for my part: I picked Electric Shackles on my Rad Blast/Thermal Corruptor for a reason dagnabbit! I don't want or need Conserve Power, I want Electric Shackles on him!

I seriously hope they change their mind on Surge of Power (looks wise)...was considering taking it on my blaster as its more thematic than Force of Nature but only if I dont get turned into a mass of rubbish. I hate powers that conceal costumes ('Yea lets hide the best thing about this game! Take that Dark armour users!'.....joy)

In most cases where Conserve power was added as a second power, it got the removed. (Yes, Electric blasters score here.)
Dominators kept soul drain, dark consumption had to come back. (Soul Drain is better for Dom's without Build up)
Brutes get both Bile Spray and Arctic Breath.
Ice Tanks only get Shiver, Ice storm had to replace Freezing rain.

Well I changed my Ice/Fire to keep in mind these changes were coming to take the fire epic not elec, but it does mean that my blasters will have different epics and my Elec/Mental can proceed as planned to EMP greatness I guess. Now I have one blaster with ST control and one with AoE control at some point I will need one with ST damage.
It also means I could put in hotfeet and have slots to spare, so I guess I should be thankfull that it made me rethink my build

Cool. So if there are new ones being added they become choosable at 44 now in addition to what's in there presently.

Whee. I just realised, Carni can now have Ice Storm as before AND Frostbreath instead of the silly single-target attack or the ugly shields. Excellent!!
Glad for the changes now, not that I was personally too fussed as they were intended to, but this is a much better approach, giving more options rather than impose changes is always good thing to do.
Probably, if they had offered another option at lvl 44 from the beginning we'd be complaining "oh you should have made this power available" while as it stands now, everyone is relieved and saying how great devs are... cunning indeed.
Just logged onto test... and I only have world of confusion... tried a respec, and Telekinesis is NOT an available option... any idea when the changes will be implmented ??
oh... and also... is it me, or is world of confusion a total pile of *censored* ???? mag 2 confuse, barely hits minions, and the confuse lasts for all of a second or two...
and they wanted to take TK away for this?? what in HELL were they thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stalker Mu Mastery... Why conserve power? As a /Elec or /Energy then thats means your able to get Conserve Power twice? How dull...
I've never had complained about any previous issues, but i13 for me has turned into a big 'Meh'
