  1. Although I'm very fond of Dark Armor, afraid I've never really got the grasp of Broad Sword for some reason. In any case, anything that does defdebuff on the target pairs well with Dark Armor since it makes Death Shroud, Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom to land easier (specially Cloak of fear and its lowered accuracy).

    At a first glance, this is how I'd do it. I know it doesn't have Hasten, it's a pet hate of mine getting Hasten on DA, not fond of the sudden endurance drop. At lvl 35, you'll probably need some toggle management turning them on and off as needed. Atlas Medallion accolade should also help you on end management and should be easy to get at lvl 35:

  2. I'd prolly go for something like this one at level 50 and make a second build with SO's for anything exemplared below lvl 27 (when Granite is not available).

    For pure Psi dmg, swap to Minerals, it has the disadvantage that, if other dmg besides Psi, you'll have to rely on Barrier, Rebirth, Melee Hybrid or just purple and orange insps.-

    I like having Fire Blast and Fire Ball on my Stone/Elec, it allows me to stay at a distance on situations like BAF or LAM where you might need to get out of melee quickly (can't rely on always having SB on you) like BAF rings or Marauder's one shotter in LAM. Super Jump is just there to move around when not in Granite and Teleport Foe is, well, I had to choose a lvl 49 power.-

    For Incarnate Powers, Spiritual is imho best choice to counteract granite's rchg penalty, on Lore, I'd choose Rikti for the Rikti Guardian's AM while every other Incarnate Power is open to your liking.

    Atlas Medallion would help on possible endurance issues as well as Portal Jockey Accolade:

  3. I like journal posts since they offer a different perspective than guides.

    In a game with such a huge build diversity to adapt different playstyles, guides stating "you must do this" or "you must take this" are largely irrelevant for playstyles different to the guide writer's one while guides stating "I'd take/do this because of..." are journals in essence since they're largely based on personal experience and gameplay from the guide writer.-

    Other kinds of guides that simply state what a power does are just putting in words what we can see on Mid's or in Combat Attributes ingame numbers.-
  4. I can see the point about getting Lightning Field sooner, although lvl 24 doesn't take really long to reach so the problems stated might happen in just a few situations on the way to 24.

    From an exemplaring point of view, it would only affect Positron TF since, having chosen Lightning Field at lvl 24 will count on exemplaring from lvl 19 onwards, it means that for anything relevant after Positron TF, Lightning Field will be on the build so I personally don't see that crucial getting Lightning Field sooner.

    If the Elec/ Tanker while levelling perceives that Lightning Field is needed, can use the second build feature at any given time being TO's and DO's really cheap and can even design a second build at lvl 50 with SO's to cover up for Positron TF when exemplared.-

    Some secondaries can also allow taking Lightning Field even later than lvl 24, but that'd be getting into particular powerset combos and not with Elec/ in general.-

If you don't like Hover, which I only wanted for a LoTG (doh, should have counted them) you can always take One With The Shield, it's a decent power for tight spots and you can allocate there the Gladiator's Armor +3% def, thus saving a slot to allocate anywhere else. Another option would be getting Bash instead of Maneuvers, add there a couple slots (prolly one from Health and another from stamina) to have a ST attack chain without resourcing to cones.

    I personally don't use Hover for movement unless speed boosted in certain maps or to get out of caltrops so it's very situational.

    As I posted in another WM/SD thread, I'm no expert at minmaxing / numbercrunching so I like keeping my builds simple. This is how I'd personally do a WM/SD, I'm sure there are more efficient builds out there but this one would do the job for me:

  9. On the DB/Elec side, I personally deleted mine because he was too dependant on Sweep Combo for survival at zero defense plus I hated the redraw issue. As to how it compares to Claws/Elec, well, prolly there isn't much difference between spamming a certain combo and spamming Follow Up so I guess not much change on gameplay.-

    Also deleted a Fire/DA, cannot explain why, but I felt he lacked something, probably Fire Melee doesn't compliment such a great toolbox set as DA by just adding dmg to the table, despite being great dmg and all that, felt DA deserved something more, re-rolled him as DM/Fire and never looked back.-

I also realized that (in Freedom) a lot of ppl who spam Incandescence, for some reason, don't spam other more useful buffs they have like AM, SB, RA, Cold Shields, Thermal Shields, Bubbles, Fortitude, Forge, Frostwork... in most cases, you get one of said buffs at the beginning of the trial (when lucky) and then you rarely get any again during the trial, yet the incandescence tp prompt is there every 30-45 seconds (yep, I've also seen people alternating them, even once a guy with 3 accounts who got 3 chars into a BAF alternated it on his 3 chars).

    Maybe some come from other MMO's where healing is crucial and don't adapt to CoH playstyle, maybe others just think it's cool so they go for it right upon finishing being AE farmed and maybe some others are just so pathetic that they enjoy annoying others.
  11. I'm no expert in specialized min/maxed builds so i tend to keep my builds as simple as possible.

    When on weapon sets, I always go for Body Mastery because I hate the redraw and in non toggle mez protection sets, I try to avoid Hasten to keep things as simple as possible. I know Hasten makes builds more efficient and all that, in this particular case, there are no high recharge heals or stuff like that, the longest recharging power is Shield Charge and I can perfectly live with its recharge being 7 - 8 seconds longer.

    This is how I'd like a WM/Shield, I'm sure there are more efficient builds out there, but as I said, I like it nice and simple:

  12. I personally think it would be worth skipping maneuvers and get a Gladiator's Armor +3% def, you'd still be softcapped and could get Hover instead of maneuvers to allocate the Lotg Global recharge.

    Other than that, I like the build. It seems you need to use Shatter and Crowd Control as part of your ST attack chain even with Hasten on. As they're slotted with poor endrdx due to Obliteration set, getting rid of Maneuvers should help a bit.

    I take you got Agility Alpha to be just 1 purple insp away from Incarnate Softcap, I would have taken Spiritual instead, but that's just a matter of personal preference.
  13. I always take both. CoF is a must for me because of my DA chars concept. Made once the mistake of respecing out OG from my DM/DA and got him faceplanted non stop on an infamous ITF run so respecced it back in and never looked back.

    The way I see DA is that everything helps so I always take all DA powers bar the self rez.-

  18. I personally use this build to farm Cave runs. Dark Obliteration and Burn take care of minions/lieutenants and Dark Melee's ST dmg is really helpful for the +4 Bosses. It works for either Fire Cave runs, S/L runs and for the Unai kemen's Council Empire mish when I want to try fishing for purples:

    Dark Armor: CoF should have a review on either it's accuracy or end usage (not both). I'd much prefer it's accuracy to be 75% base instead of 60%. I'd also like see a Mag 3 fear on scrappers instead of Mag 2

    Energy Melee: Whirling Hands is very lackluster, pretty much anything would improve it.-

    SR: The always 1 trick pony, thought Melee Hybrid would help a great deal but at the time I didn't know Hybrid toggles can't be always on. The resistances from passives are not enough, but not sure what could be done to improve the set, I guess pretty much anything would do the trick.-
  22. You can at least get softcapped to melee and just 2.3% shy of softcap on ranged/aoe def, keep body mastery to help you with end issues while using ET as a mean to avoid alphas though:

  23. The biggest advantage imho of Body Mastery would be Energy Torrent which would allow you avoiding Alphas.-
  24. Ah, I was hoping I shouldn't need another respec. Guess I need to squeeze a bit more enrdx from atatcks.

    Removed the KD Proc from Smite and used a dmg/end/rchg, also reworked a bit the enhancements on Siphon Life and Midnight Grasp to squeeze a bit more endrdx. Swapped from Numina Unique to Miracle (guess Melee Hybrid should give me all the +regen I'll need) and moved the second slot I was using on health to Stamina so I have slotted Stamina with 4 Performance Shifters (once using a 4th slot, thought I could get the 2.5% extra recovery).

    All in all, should be an improvement and hopefully Dark Consumption and Ageless will smooth the issue more smoothly than what I have so far.-

  25. Heya,

    This is my current DM/Invuln Scrapper. His build is (almost) exactly where I wanted it to be, it is, softcapped to S/L/E/N/F/C, however, his blue bar vanishes really really fast.

    As you can see, I can only devote 3 slots in Stamina (I'm sure there are ways to add a 4th slot while keeping him softcapped and without losing rchg but afraid I can't find any) so i thought of changing the 3rd endmod IO and using instead a Performance Shifter Proc but hey, using 3 Performance Shifters grants a sweet +HP bonus so my question is, if I slotted Stamina with 1x Performance Shifter Endmod + 1xPerformance Shifter Endmod/Rchg + 1x Performance Shifter Chance for +End, would my endurance issues improve or get worse compared to the current 3xendmod IO slotting?
