Somebody brought up giving scrappers more love this morning on the Coffee Talk stream. And the Devs mentioned something that was scrapped. I'm not sure what that person meant by love but as far as new power sets go, I think it would be really cool to expand on the Vorpal power from the Judgement set for Incarnates.

There has never been a 'Knife' class added to melee AT's probably because of the idea that a super hero wouldn't use such a short blade if he/she could be using a sword. If a hero could use a knife and teleport to/behind enemies like the vorpal kick and attack then teleport back I think this would make for a very cool power set, I would buy it if it ever came out. Just an idea I wanted to throw out there.

Knife Melee would be cool, but there are a few that need to come before (in order of importance):

Triple Chainsaw Melee
Chainsaw Melee
Psychic Melee
Radiation Melee

When those are done, THEN they can work on Knife Melee.

While it doesn't really fit the concept you described, there *are* knife weapon models in the game. Dual Blades and I believe Broadsword both have their share of smaller bladed weapons.

Rather than knife I want to see a whip meleeset which is actually effective in middle to close range with some hold and immobilise effects. Or a baton set which can be used with shields to produce policeman like superheroes.

Like the baton model that's already available in War Mace? To go with the riot shield in Shield Defense?

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Only if you want to have to spend billions to be in any way effective.

Seeing as how I use RedCap Daggers when I use Dual Blades on my main (I switch her AT around), I thought we had knife fighting

Generally I don't think Scrappers need much in the way of Love. They're pretty perfect as they are now.

The Scrapper love I would love to see anyways though is...

80% Resist Cap

MORE DEFENSE SECONDARIES OPTIONS! There's still combinations of not graphic intensive concepts that I'd love to see!

And lastly, but not likely to happen...GUN FU! This can be done with existing and a couple of new animations and still keep the ranged attacks equal to what some other melee sets already have.

Oh boy do I remember *that* conversation. Suddenly everyone as a munitions expert, and guns could not, under any circumstance, for any reason, be used at a range of under 15 feet. I really got sick of listening to the forums during that little debate.

Still, I think the Martial set coming out for blaster in addition to all the other fun things Blaster is getting will largely satisfy my "gun-fu" itch.

What was worse was the use of maximum ranges from the real world, which would have had Pistols Scrappers operating at the same range as AR Blasters...

I still think a Pistols Scrapper set would have played not dissimilar to Spines. Ah, well, that's a 'what could have been.'

Sadly, I don't have the same feeling, as DP/MC won't feel dodgey at all. :/

You sure? I get the feeling that a DP/MC/Mace Blaster will feel very dodgey. Softcap S/L/E and you can blap your heart out. I'll probably be making one, even though I know there will be hundreds of them running around.

That takes quite a while to feel dodgey Also, that doesn't feel dodgey to me in actual game play personally.

It'll likely be nicely survivable though.

Scrappers are pretty loved. I'm okay with taking the back seat for a bit to get Blaster2s, Dom2s, and MM1s some attention. Maybe even Khelds. Ahahaha...

Hmmm...I never thought Doms needed any love. Unless you mean more powerset options.

MMs do need more powersets, but... I think the exchange rate is one pet set to three normal sets. So much more work its ridiculous.

That said I still want Pirates.

Totally want this. Especially after watching Equilibirium (sooo many I's!). Not sure there would be enough demand for it though..since a lot of people arent really keen on the DP animations.

I love my scrapper! I don't think the game gets better than this, running into a group of enemies with Shield Charge! Watching them get bowled over with a huge smash, then crunching them with a Crowd Control! Wearing a cute chainmail outfit that is fashionable yet functional! Earning new shield and mace customizations! And, and....

Oh that's not what this thread is about...

I know that there are Knife 'skin' for BS and DS sets and I guess Kata has a smaller half blade. But I mean more like a combat knife like a soldier would use it could be a mix between street fighting melee and the various sword fighting classes. Also I thought the idea of them capitalizing on vorpal or void from the Judgement incarnate ability would be cool because you don't see these sort of things in the game a lot. Technically void could be darkness or gravity, but Vorpal is basically just the kick power from judgement and it is really cool and would be a cool set.

I once put an idea together for an army/combat knife and pistol melee set, primarily for Stalkers. Put together for a more Hitman or Nick Fury flavour. It featured an attack where you knock your enemy back/into the air with a strong kick and then shoot them, various close combat knife attacks which caused debuff and control effects and the Stalker's AS would be an Executioner's Strike with the Build Up making it short range (40ft) as well as a damage buff, but no +tohit. Ended up looking somewhat like Street Justice crossed with Claws.

I'd quite like a set like it, whether it's just a combat knife, close quarter pistols or both.

PS: Warmace Scrappers are awesome.

I hear you. I *still* would have preferred Dual Pistol / Super Reflexes, but alas.

At very least, I know I can probably soft-cap S/L defense for Dual Pistol / Martial Whatever, which is good enough for me.
