not true O.o atleast with tanks dont see anyreason not to take them.. sure they dont do as much as i'd like but a tank without its res is no tank. i have made so many tanks and passives are just as valuable to servival

Those are picked by many, its more towards powers that basicly never are chosen by anyone. (like my earlier dispersion bubble of blaster set).

I don't think it would be an matter of axing all brute pets, or all stalker snipes.

The reason the PPPs have so many similar powers was because they couldn't be respeced. Now that is changing, they can make them more different to each other.

So if a brute wants a pet, he could select a patron with a pet, otherwise he could select a patron without a pet.

Same with stalker snipe. They reallly only need 1 or 2 patrons to offer this, not 3.

Visa versa, PPP doesnt have pets.

Those first 4 afaik are blaster only, as villains have no blaster counterside (all have either control or protection abilities), i wonder if they would do any good on the APP side.

They could all easily be put in for dominators without stepping on the toe's of there primary and secondary

Aye, I was going to add that these would all be for the squishy ATs. It looks like a Focused Accuracy equivelent would be the only new power for stalkers and brutes.


Yeah, it would seem fair to give pets heroeside, especially blasters and defenders, but I don't know which powers to replace, and it would probably have to be an existing pet, since there is a lot of development work in creating a new pet (AI stuff).

Sad thing is, I'd want FA for my Brute but wouldn't have room in my build for it. I use -every- power I currently have, including Mu Lightning and Ball Lightning. Oh well, we'll see how this goes.

PFF could fit Mace Mastery for Dominators in place of Disruptor Blast? MMs already have it and Corruptors are sure to get it anyway. Everything else on that list, eh, can't think of thematic matches from current PPPs. Coral Embrace..?
And Villains already have a power named Force of Nature in the form of an Accolade Power, might cause problems somewhere?

I think its a case of a functionaly similar power, rather than an identical power with same name and graphical effect. Coral Embrace is possible, and Hibernate or a similar powor might also fit in Levianthan Mastery. RotP doesn't fit, but a different self res might, e.g. Soul Transfer in Ghost Widows set.

Hm. Some sort of coral encasing the player in a Leviathan Mastery style hibernate power could work, yes. Maybe Power of the Leviathan or something as a FoN clone, too. Heh, Mako'd gain some popularity with non-VEATs this way...

Soul Transfer could work well, too. Well, depending on what the devs do, this could get pretty interesting. As long as they don't take my Crab's Patron Pet... Or my Brute's Blast and AoE... Or my MM's Soul Storm... I'm being selfish, right? <_<

Heaven forbid and make it an extra possible power you could pick, rather than removing something that a players character took and risk decreasing their effectiveness via IO set bonuses?

I know I wouldn't particulary like to see my PPP Stalker snipe dropped as its to me, a useful PvE power and helped me avoid alot of debt in certain situations.

And at same time, buff certain PPP's that are totally underwhelming in too many instances.

Hell tbh I'd love to see the choices for each PPP increased for each respective level but obviously some sort of change hero side would be required as well then (combine them allowing for one of each lvl 41 power ect?).

Sorry for the threadomancy, but after recent discussions I was thinking about this review and there are a couple things that keep me uneasy:

First of all, I think it is good the devs take steps in this direction, I just hope they keep in mind some factors beside raw numbers, such as for example, Fighting Pool in which, people take Boxing / Kick not because they're any good (they're rubbish tbh) but as a toll to get to Tough / Weave so although they might show they're taken by many people, doesn't mean they're any goood.-

I was also hoping devs don't stop there and also do some review for powers that everyone takes, such as Stamina and Hasten and give suitable options to diversify builds.

Ideally, they should cut out the Fitness pool.
Why should you HAVE to take three powers just to be able to play the game without complete stressage? The only set I know that doesnt need it is regen, because it gets better versions of Health and stamina. And possibly MMS, although I still find it a must on mine.
I see no reason why the 'Fitness trio' should be a 'must-have' in builds. Three less problems, three more power choices in the main sets, and more usage of stuff that is currently underrated.

And now they've taken 2 powers out for that?

First off, Stalkers losing their pets, ok I understand that they are the stealthy types and don't particularly need friendly Mu mystics blasting mobs, but I always used mine to take the aggro off me, they start attacking the pet meaning I can get into a situation where the mobs have used the alpha up on them as well as the pets holding the aggro of the ones I'm not attacking. My three spiders were great cause even if a big attack killed one I still got two more running around and being annoying. I can understand why others would want it replaced but with disruptor blast? I always try to get as little aggro as possible as a stalker so most my attacks were single target, so why give me an AoE that'll only cause more trouble. I'll end by saying, changing it? ok (despite the purple recipes I had in it) but not for an AoE.

I have Elec/Elec/Elec and all I can say is that I liked my holds. They were handy, but what I'm getting well I can't say that its too bad either. I could say that Conserve Power is no use, but that would be a lie, especially for toons who don't use stamina (I know not many but we have to take into consideration that people do, and the devs tell us we don't need it despite the fact that every NPC you encounter in the game has inherent fitness, but thats a different discussion) or are heavy end users. God mode for Blasters, got no complaint there, might even get a little cheer when I test it out more.

Probably not much of a change of playstyle, didn't really use chilblain and probably would use shiver about the same. I will say this though, having more AoE's is always good for a tanker. Changing Ice Storm to Freezing Rain is actually good, I like me de-buffs so actually more useful.

Like most changes chances are I will just have to change my playstyle to adapt and its not as terrible as it first appears. I've been playing the game for 4 years now and if I have learned anything its that the bad stuff that come with changes are generally forgotten sooner or later, I mean nobody talks about ED weakening their toon nowadays do they?

Trouble is that puts you in the minority. Most people take powers because they are , well powers, not for how they look.

Im not saying this is wrong or right obviously, everyone's gotta do whatever floats their boat.

Well I certainly hate the changes to elec mastery for Blasters, will have to look at one blaster because its become a waste of three powers now but the other has only lost out a bit though I was really looking forward to EMP. I can see Conserve Power going down badly personally but then I dont know how everyone plays their blasters and it may be useful to some. Badly built ones maybe. But some

I'm really anoyed with the change to muntitions mastery, i have sleep grenade which is slotted with a purple set.
Now they've gone and changed it this means i lose my purple set and recharge bonus which was the whole point to picking and slotting the power in the first place.
Should have given those affected a choice wether to keep the old power or swap to the new one.
Whats the betting this new power wont take purples.
I was finally happy with my blasters build and spent a hell of a lot of inf on him.

So far the loss of EMP Pulse on Blasters will modify the concept for my Ice/Elec/Elec Blaster who i was looking forward to take to lvl 47 to get EMP Pulse, although a godmode is not that bad.

Interesting changes on FA, will that mean Tactics has been tweaked too? Hope they reviewed the end usage or FA or I can't see many people getting it just for a 5% ToHit, although the most interesting feature of FA for me is the ToHit Debuff resistance, which might have been changed too or not.

For the rest, no idea I'm afraid, but I like the fact they haven't changed Dark Mastery for scrappers.-

I think you will find you only lose the power, and the purples bonus if you respec.

I might be wrong there though.
