    My SS/WP Brute, while good for running round pounding stuff struggles at +4x8 level

  5. Survivability is definitely not an issue unless i get giddy and try for +4/x8 I was just wondering if It was possibly to enhance him any more now I have had time to save a little cash - might be worth throwing some cash at a different alt
  6. Thanks guys - definitely not willing to sacrifice survivability for a little extra recharge - with current build I have perma-rage anyway so probably wouldn't benefit me. If at some point purple defence sets come out then it may be worth considering - for now guess I will stick to saving up

    Some time ago I sought advice on a sturdy build for my SS/WP Brute, and as always I was not disappointed with the advice I received

    I feel the time has come to 'upgrade' (although I use the word tentatively) and wedge a few purple enhancements in there. Now I understand Purples are not suddenly going to make my Brute a zillion percent better however is there any scope to improve him further or am I better off sticking to his current build? I dont want to spend a fortune on purples then find out I have gimped him beyond all recognition!

    I have never really done anything much in the way of PvP other than the odd street brawl whilst mooching through RV, however it is something I would like to dabble in.

    I have started a Elec/Wp Stalker as this seemed to be a popular choice for someone who needs to make life as simple as possible when learning the ropes, however when trying to plan my build in Mids what am I aiming to acheive in the way of numbers? (Defence, Speed, Recharge, Status Protection etc)

    Also, I have seen a lot of builds with Stealth, Shadow Meld etc so are there any powers that are 'must have' and any that are pointless for an Elec/Wp stalker?

    Is anyone having problems getting onto Union tonight? I can load the game etc fine but get Unable to connect to DBServer error when trying to get into Union. All other servers are fine but I have no alts anywhere except the big U

    Reknowned as you all are for your helpful and sage advice to those who dismally fail at searching and cannot create their own effective builds, I am currently levelling 9 and surprisingly enjoying) a DS/DM mastermind.

    I can control the pets (to a degree) and have as yet caused only minimal team wipes - although this is largely in part to mostly playing solo atm

    Does anyone out there have a guide for a tough and survivable DS/DM MM to give me some guidance on what powers are skippable and how to slot these pet things that insist on following me around?

  15. My SS/WP Brite has taken over the Favourite Alt position (previously held by my Fire/Fire tanker for a good couple of years) - it plays well on SO enhancements alone and for me it feels very brutish wading in with fists flying.

    WP has great survivability from the start and although it has no actual Healing power as such the various healing buff powers you get tend to more than compensate.

  17. Playing last night after the delightful i17 appearance, i was on a mission with a glowie hunt and after decimating everything in sight I began the hunt.

    Eventually it appeared my hide and seek skills were not up to par and I was getting annoyed when I noticed on the map a HUGE white star that said 'files' (iirc) and led me to them.

    Is this new feature designed to help muppets who cant search a simple map (like me) or should it not be there??

  18. Having actually run a mission with the new build I have to admit the regen is pretty awesome. He ran through like a steamroller with bosses barely denting his health for more than a few seconds. Definitely wise advice from all concerned and an impressive new build at the end of it.

For some random reason the prices dipped so after xferring inf from every other alt I have I have completed the build (including FF +rech proc) - cost about 2bil in total partially cos there is some expensive stuff in there and probably mostly because I am too damn impatient and dont want to bid now and wait to get stuff so pay more than I could do - but at least others get to benefit from my impatience

    All I need now is time to actually have a play and see what happens...

  22. Thanks again ultrawatt, you and twilight have given me a lot to think about. I will play with mids tomorrow and see if I can come up with somyhing that rings in the best of both! I never thought of using lower level enhancements so there is more flexibility there than I first thought!

    Any idea on the best way to respec without losing a fortune on the enhancments I don't need as you inlet get to keep 10 - I have a couple of respcs available so would it be best to do it over multiple respecs?

  23. Thanks for the input guys - would either if you mind posting your builds if possible so I can compare numbers?

    Slightly aside from this when the time comes to rebuild (respec) do I need to respec a couple of times to avoid losing crafted enhancements or is there any way of doing a full respec and having all spare IOs left at the end to sell?

    I am slowly trying to get to grips with the whole IO set bonus thing - I was trying to get as much regen in there as possible hence the 3 lots of 2 Numina and 3 lots of 2 LotG.

    I could get rid of resurgence if there is another power that would help me better somehwere else - other than that I figured all other powers were pretty much useful on a regular basis?
