I reckon once the honeymoon wears off a significant chunk of the hardcore will jump ship to Pandaria.
Thats what my hardcore gamer buddies are doing anyway. SWToR will probably loose a chunk of players too. -
you could use them to make moulds and then cast them in resin I suppose.
Hmm, that way you could sculpt on all kinds of extra detail with greenstuff before casting. -

Well I think that if nothing else there is a great human interest angle to this chain of events.

Hi Tony, just sent you my BBC contacts email address by PM.
-
Yeah, that was me. I sent him a link to the co-ordination thread and mentioned Titan Network as well.
Hes also an Ex-MMO player and was the one who got me playing CoH in the first place. -
I thought that a friend of mine that does stories for the BBC might be interested in whats happening to us. He agreed that it might be newsworthy so who knows...

Thank you sir and your wonderful team for allowing my dreams to become a 'reality' of sorts. Best game ever!

I think if you are a confident GM who is familiar with the system then GURPs is a very good option.
I played in several WW2 themed superhero games based around 500 point characters. It's a good number of points to make a reasonably competent hero without being stupidly over-powered. The GM should check the characters over before play to make sure they are fairly balanced. -
This whole thread has made me think about the issue is sides. Personally I can't see the justification for keeping heroes and villains from travelling to Paragon City or the Rogue Isles. Its not like a villain can't travel incognito or in a cargo crate or whatever.
I would add an airport to Talos Island and Cap and allow unlimited travel between the two.
There is also the IP to Shark submarine.
Then I would flag all the mission contacts in the game as either Blue, Red or Purple. Doing a blue arc gets you hero alignment, a red arc gets you villain alignment and a purple arc for vigilantes/rogues. Add purple merits so the neutrals don't get shafted on rewards.
Add hero contacts to all the Rogue Isles zones for some undercover work and villain contacts to all the hero zones for some smash n grab skullduggery ect.
Merge Oroboros for travel purposes.
Everyone get the best of both worlds and all the squabbling about my side needs a revamp falls away. -
I suggest Shield/War Mace.
Shields aggro aura boosts your damage based on the number of enemies around you.
Shields def is easy to softcap to ranged, melee and aoe, it also has perma HP boost, decent resistance values and great def debuff resist.
You can customise the shield.
Shield charge is awesome.
War mace has lots of AoE attacks (better than Axe imo and smashing damage too).
Clobber is amazing.
War mace is customisable.
My Shield/Mace tank was one of my fastest of any AT to 50 and one of the most fun
PS: I have played every AT to 50 at least twice. -

I don't think adding mildly annoying restrictions is a good way to make the forms unique.
I think the fact that dwarf form is tough and is a melee only form and nova is fragile and ranged only is unique enough tbh. -
Personally I think anything that isn't a either a direct damage attack, a heal or a shield should be available for use in forms. I honestly can't see that it's overpowered.
-
I have always thought that we should be able to use powers like pulsar, inner light and hasten while shifted.
I don't see any reason why they are human form only. We can use things like secondary mutation while shifted so I don't think that it can be the mechanics behind the form shift that locks them out. -
In the end I used the ability to have three builds to make an all human, a dwarf and a nova build.
I find that for teams that have a suitable 'tank' I use the human build and if I'm solo or on a team with no 'tank' I switch to the dwarf build. So far I really haven't found much use for the nova build.
I dwarf tanked the ITF for a team last night and it worked out pretty smoothly. My build uses IOs to get as much additional hit points, regen and recharge as I can and it seems to work out pretty well. I find that because the build only has two forms I can slot it much better than if I had tried for full triform. I still feel the forms could be a bit more interesting, their attack chains are rather dull.
I also think that the Kheld inherent is a bit half-baked and could use some serious work. -
Hi Bloodly,
If you are on Union I suggest you try getting on the Sals Badgehunters chat channel. They run lots of task force teams and are generally really helpful answering questions.
If you are looking for a character that will have an easier time levelling up I suggest giving either an Any primary/Will Power Scrapper or Brute or Any primary/Dark Miasma corrupter.
Any of those should do really well solo or in teams.
You can make the villain archetypes on hero side now so if you want to team up more often I recommend starting on Blue side.
PS: Maybe avoid pairing Energy Blast with Dark Miasma if you try the corrupter option. The knockback of Energy blast will most likely be counter productive.
Good luck
PPS: The reason I picked Will Power is because it doesn't require IOs to be very survivable and it works well with any primary (it can also be set to no graphics option so no costume obscuring). I picked Dark Miasma because it gets awesome survivability early on and just keeps getting more awesome as you go. Its solo friendly as none of the powers require team mates though many of its powers benefit a whole team, it also gets a pet that heals you and makes it harder for enemies to hit. There are fantastic guides based on SOs available for both powersets on the appropriate AT forum sections. -
A bit off the original topic but I don't think changing the self heal into an AoE heal is a good idea. It would be bound to get reduced in some way as a self heal.
I not even sure it would be that good on an all Kheld team (khelds have plenty of ways to stay alive). On any other team there is bound to be some team mates providing support. If for some reason you happen to find yourself on a team with 7 blasters you are better off tanking for them in dwarf imo. With dual builds available there is no reason not to have a second build that focuses on dwarf. -
I don't like the idea of being turned into some kind of 'healer'.
-
I would like photon seekers to have a stun secondary effect rather than knockback.
PBs have enough powers to knock stuff into another area code already.
Adding a to-hit debuff would be nice too but probably asking too much :P -
Some optional animations in the customisation section would be nice. I know some people also preferred to old light form animation (i guess it wasn't compatible with forms).
