Which Zone or Zones are the Worst?

Blue: Easy one, Skyway. The design is just BLECH. The raves spiced it up a bit but it is such a shippable zone.

Red: This is a hard one. I love Grandville. Hidden tunnels, buried town, and levels upon levels to climb up. It is a very unique, and unfortunately lagtastic, design.

All the CoV zones are well done but if I have to pick one it is going to be Port Oaks. Never really enjoyed it that much.

Both sides: Cimerora

Now, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the ITF. And the wall has been a decent farm spot when I'm bored. But the rest of the zone? There's nothing to it.

Boomtown, Striga, Dark Astoria. No reason to go to any of those zones, ever. Hollows sort of has a reason now even though I still skip it. Faultline is better.

Cim only makes it because of the ITF. If it didn't have that, nobody would go there ever.

Wha? Striga has 4 great story arcs and two of the most enjoyable TFs in the game!

Dark Astoria

I can't tell you how many times I've faceplanted into the side of a building, trying to fly through it, or god forbid X'ing down for an Oro Flashback, where I lose my fly, and have to spend forever an 10 years trying to get to where i'm going, only to be met, face to face, with Adamaster, who unceremoniously smashes me into the ground.

God, I hate that place.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is easily fixed by only traveling down STREETS to get to your waypoint. Do not take off across the landscape as the crow flies, because you will meet many obstacles.... go down the street, where there are none.

This will take slightly longer, but beats running into skyscrapers 50 times.

I always take a travel power at 14, this way I don't have to deal with being exemped down out of it - and I don't think any Oro arc is going to send you to DA below level 14. But I'm pragmatic like that. Fly, and Adamastor will never bother you.

DA is my favorite zone:
Bad

p.s. Worst zone is Independence Port, of all zones blueside this is the hugest waste of time. Its just stupid. I have a travel power when I get there, and it's still stupid. Go there with a level 50 - yep, still stupid.

The landscape is boring, and its 4 miles long. I see nothing to love about it.

More than once, IP has made me avoid taking my cape mission on heroside, since I know I have to swim all the way up to the corner to talk to that one contact and then aaaall the way back to the tram.

It's especially fun when I put travel off to post-20.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I am gonna say Terra Volta. Prior to the jet packs if you didnt have fly or super jump you just end up being stuck if you fall in a ditch. No way to save your toon outside of a petition.

hollows and boomtown...never go there at all anymore..infact i dont like the first 20 lvls of this game anymore

its just too old of content and meh to faultline as well

I had forgotten about Terra Volta. I actually like KR, for the same reasons some people don't, but IP and TV are just such pains. I wouldn't mind the size of IP if they'd done it like Talos with all the relevant stuff in a small area and the faraway bits left as something to explore or not, as desired.

Though, I have to say the octopus is neat, and I really like the long bridge, and the bits of rocky shoreline. So it's not all bad. Then again, I like Dark Astoria, too.

Zones I don't like:

Boomtown: As others have said it's unremarkable to look at, and the enemies aren't very interesting. A Hollows style makeover, with a 5th Column base and some arcs that followed on from the events of the I15 TF would be brilliant though.

Founders Falls and Peregrine Island: FF has made no impression on me. Every mission I picked up sent me to a different zone, so all I did was run back and forth from the contact to the train station. I really had no reason to stay in the actual zone.

With PI it's the behemoths in the parking lot of Portal Corp. Actually, it's not the behemoths as such, it's the fact that noone pays any attention to them.

Zones I love:

The Hollows and Faultline: Fun to explore and great story arcs. If every heroside zone was like this my villain alts wouldn't outnumber my heroes 3 to 1.

Grandville: Just awesome in every way - jaw dropping visuals, great music, non-stop spider smashing action as you explore and some very cool story arcs. Then there's the Fab. I love to take Nightshade up there to see how far I can push her performance. I'm really looking forward to taking a brute in there

and I really like the long bridge

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL I turned that bridge into a character on Protector server- Valour Bridge, a pissed off she-bridge tank who wields a giant war hammer. Talk about a way to clean up her deck, walking around whacking Family and Tsoo in the face with a huge hunk of iron!

Boomtown, yes. Waste of a zone, no reason to go there. Striga? Heck no! It's a great zone, has some great arcs and a couple awesome task forces. Dark Astoria? Another great zone, go there, level from 21-30ish, get rich off arcane salvage. I really wish there was more to do there though, some contacts/arcs or a "stop the BP!" type of task force. even as it is, it's one of my favourite zones in the game.

I go to Cimerora regularly, but only to run the wall.

Faultline is great since the revamp and I wish they would do more like that to other zones.

I'd say the PvP zones are the worst, because they have PvP. But besides that...

Hero: Abandoned Sewers Network. I don't go in there. I did the hunting mission in there a couple times back when I couldn't avoid it, but now that I can drop that mission I have no need or desire to step foot into the zone.

Villain: Grandville. I still think it's ugly and a pain to explore. I like all the other CoV zones.

Atlas Park and Cap Au Diable. Especially Cap. I can avoid Atlas entirely if I try hard, but Redside keeps throwing reasons to go back to Cap at me, and the zone design is especially terrible for clustering all the useful bits right around the Black Market and AE building. If they'd open up routes to Bloody Bay and the Midnighter's Club in other zones, many of my characters would never enter Cap Au Diable again.

Nerva annoys me because it's so frigging huge and takes forever to get across it. Navigating all the bridges on foot is a pain, too.

If I were an AE'er (which I'm not) I'd say "what are zones?"

I'll put in a vote for Indy Port, miles long, ugly, no university, no Wentworths, some of the stores and contacts at the FAR ends and therefore avoided.

I see a couple contacts near the tram, do the Icon suit slot mission, and avoid from then on.

I really dislike the early lvl zones. To me it dosen't start getting fun till Faultline. After that I love the next 20 lvl's or so.

Faultline to Striga to Croatoa. I really like the look and feel of Founders Fall too.

I don't really see a purpose to Boom or Galaxy. IP is kind of blaaahhh.

My least favorite zones in the game are, in order:

1) Skyway City - no WW, no university, no tailor, no easy way to get around, and all the contacts seem to make you run from one end of the zone to the other and to other zones for all their missions. I flat out hate Skyway City.

2) IP - I dislike this zone for all the same reasons I hate Skyway, but there is something about it that makes it slightly less unappealing to me than Skyway. Maybe it's the fact that by the time I hit IP, I ofetn have a travel power and don't have to burn all the time on the raptor ot zero-G packs to get around.

3) Sharkhead. I just dislike Sharkhead due to how hard it is to get around with all the mining pits and what-not.

Boomtown.

And it will never get fixed because the villains keep blowing up most of the forklifts and the gravity controllers take the rest.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Dark Astoria, definitely.

The idea is pretty cool in theory, and I appreciate that they wanted to create an appropriate mood. But the reality of navigating a zone with near zero visibility is just plain obnoxious.

I think instead they should have made Astoria a zone of eternal night time rather than fog. Or just restricted the fog to certain "especially mysterious" areas of the zone.

Sirens call. Its rubbish. BB and WB have PvE reasons to go there and they're more interestingly designed, but Sirens is pointless.

And Atlas Park is depressing now, wirh all th AE spam
