How are the Zombie invasions explains in game lore? What makes the zombies appear? Are they typical Zombies mindlessly trying to eat brains, or do they have other motives?

I'm curious why Longbow isn't swarming all over Striga Isle trying to stop the Council from making any further inroads there than they already have... the Legacy Chain is already busy helping out in the Hollows...

Longbow was founded by Miss Liberty, and everything she does is motivated by her grand-uncle Reccy not hugging her when she was little. See also: The Vindicators. What she does always somehow revolves around him, and every other purpose is secondary at best.

More serious answer: The stated purpose of Longbow is to bring peace to the Etoile Isles and topple Arachnos. Paragon City is the City of Heroes and has plenty protectors, so Longbow goes to the place where justice is not even in the dictionary: The City of Villains, Etoile Isles. Their work there would have more impact than anything they could do in Paragon City and vicinity, what with super heroes patrolling everywhere already, anyway.

Also my money is on the Council in the case of a Longbow assault.

Except that Longbow can be found throwing their weight around and hassling citizens of Paragon City wherever they feel it appropriate to be doing so. King's Row and Atlas Park in particular. Whatever their stated purpose might be, they've encroached into our territory in the meantime and they do it in ways that are borderline villainous themselves (or at least they don't mind Punisher-style justice). And then there's the whole RWZ storyline.

Seeing them as being all about Lord Recluse is taking too narrow a view of them, IMO, whatever their stated purpose might be.

Galaxy City, too. Dag burn it, am I the only one that starts their new toons there!?

Anyway, though, Atlas/Kings/Galaxy city are places where new heroes need help... so that maybe why they are the exception. Plus, it would be a good "training ground" for more hazardous zones, by lore standards, for Longbow.

Well, Galaxy City IS the headquarters of Freedom Corps, so you'd expect to see them there. I guess I took that for granted. *heh*

I haven't trusted the Legacy Chain since one of them dropped a Ryleh's Rain (old base salvage IIRC) on me...

For the curious...

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

However that works...how can you have rain in an underwater city? Perhaps the Legacy Chain mislabeled it, and it's really from a small town in New England?

Magic. Magic can do anything if you know how.

Kinda skipping ahead of the thread here, so I don't know if this has been addressed, but why aren't there any United States military personnel in the Rikti War Zone? C'mon, we dragged ourselves out of the Great Depression so we could go into the second World War, but when we've got invaders on our own soil, we leave it to Vanguard? Remember, Vanguard is part of the United Nations Security Force, which the American military, as I understand it, does not trust to tie its collective shoes in the morning.

While it's true that superior Rikti technology owned the sauce out of almost everything the military threw at them, it's also true that Vanguard has hardware that seems to do okay against them, so you'd think that the Pentagon would've gotten their hands on some newer weaponry, too.

We've got Rikti, Vanguard, Longbow, Crey, the Circle of Thorns, Arachnos, the Council, the Devouring Earth, Malta, the Knives of Artemis, the Nemesis Army, heroes, and villains. There's a war going on in America, and America's military is about the only group that isn't involved.

Didn't they used to have American GIs in there back when it was still just the Rikti Crash Site, like there are in the Shadow Shard? Basically just animated props, though, so no actual fighting.

I believe you can still see Tanks driving around in the RWZ.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll double-check, but I think those tanks -or rather, their turrets- con as Vanguard entities.

Edit: The turrets on tank-like bodies con as members of the "Turrets" faction, and the actual tanks can't be targetted. They both have Vanguard emblems on them, however.

Correction; World War Two dragged us out of the Great Depression. But that's unimportant : )

I've got a new question, this time involving Baumton.

In a mission from Operative Wellman (15-19 villain contact introduced by Marshal Brass) titled "Destroy Building Supplies" you are told of an attempt by Paragon's Heroes and Citizens to rebuild Baumton (Boomtown) after the carnage of the Rikti Invasion. You are told to destroy two forklifts and five piles of building supplies, and upon entering the mission the message mentions that the place is "Still smoldering from the aftermath of the Rikti Invasion.".

Assuming this mission is set right after the Omega Team forces the retreat of the Rikti I gotta ask: What the heck happened?! You mean to tell me that a bunch of villains destory some forklifts and supplies and the good guys just stop, pick up and move to Faultline instead?! You've got a nice sized map of an under construction Baumton, why not flesh it out?

I'm working on a new MA arc that involved the Imperial Wind and I would really like to know a few things:
Like who were other members/notable members of the group, what powerset would The Lord of the Frosts use (Okay, this is overboard) And are they all dead for good?

ComicCon and prep work for GR, I'd bet. Either that, or we've asked some seriously revealing questions.

I think I've figured out the reason that all the White Dwarves and Bright Novas are painted 'black' in the Imperious Task/Strike force, but it would be nice for confirmation.

I believe it's actually a bit of a technical limitation (then) in the faction settings. From what I can gather, the Nictus in the past are all supposed to be only Dark Dwarves, Bright Novas and the Crystals way back when.

But the faction that it calls and maps in the spawns is just the (slightly tweaked) Nictus faction, which has the Peacebringer fanatics that don't want to reconcile with the Nictus.

So that's a tech limit.

Which reminds me, are WD/BNs actually part of the Nictus 'faction' or just using the tech to appear in spawns?

It would make better sense that they are just randomly showing up to kill the 'pansy reconcilists' and the Warshades on principle and don't actually work with the Nictus themselves.

Still here, even after all this time!

'Cause Manti isn't one. That aside, I was trying to be nice. Primeal Earth Marcus Cole is a hero. The other two are not. One serves a dictator, the other is one. Is Primeal Earth's Cole the exception?
