Let me feel my feelings, Turk! We worked on this!

That is unfortunate to hear. But thank you for clearing that up. I had about 12 decent concepts that I was going to pump out this weekend. Now I can put more effort into one so that's the bright side!

No Staff for Double XP weekend? ...laaaaaaaaaame!
I thought I was playing a superhero game, but I guess I am playing a game made by Lazy Boy and ...uh...The Recliner! Yeah, Lazy Boy and The Recliner!
To make up for such slackery, they should have a second double xp weekend when staff releases! ...HEY! I can dream right! lol. :P -
Quote:What is to stop some perverted guy from making a slutty female character and bowing at men's feet with. You don't need mastermind pets for that. That argument doesn't hold much weight in a court of logic.Okay let us start with one that Masterminds have been asking about for years.. Aside from some paranoid delusion that allowing us to have the option to have female minions will result in the end of the known universe. Why cant my female MM have female pets!
please let me clarify that years back the answer was that the dev team was afraid that perverted males would use binds or marcos to have female minions bowing at their feet and this would be very sexist. Then the same group churns out one costume set after another that denies females some very cool things the males have while giving us one scanty option after another.
I REALLY think the development team just like doing their own things and doesn't really care what we want. On occasion they will do something special to appease us rabid wolves. It is THEIR game, so I can't blame them, but from a business standpoint, it isn't very smart. I plan on going free to play soon. -

Quote:I hate to think that I have had to stoop to this. But with the way this whole thing has gone awry, from a reasonable gunslinger pack request, to this ridiculous special treatment for females from now on rubbish. I dunno, what this game is coming to. I assume unless I see some really cool updates after i22, it will be a matter of months that I will get bored and quit this game. They are, they just seem to play this game more than getting pulled in to an internet war on the forums. ;P
It is sad to think that I have played it this long, had two pieces of my artwork put in the game, bought every pack and expansion, and now when I ask for a simple request like porting some Carnival of Light pieces to males, they do not respond, they do not send tells, not even so much as a maybe, but they do the exact same thing for the females with the Baron pack, the Steampunk pack, the Gunslinger pack, and now the Dynasty pack, and announce that this will happen for all future packs as well just for females. Well that is a pretty big slap in the face. If the shoe was on the other nicely textured foot, it would be an unfathomable injustice. -
How many tops with skin options do females need? An actually manly looking chest piece with SOME hair on the chest and stomach, not the crazy monstrous fur piece. I would like chests with pierced nipples, without those lame belts and arm strings, or a pierced sternum, a topless chest piece with abnormal growths of bone structure, say like that villain from the Hulk movie, Abomination. Some better looking topless zombie chests with ribcage showing, or a beating heart, ANY chest with quality skin texture (the witch and barbarian chest details have bettor looks skin and muscle tone) Did we get a better looking chest quality muscle tone for out barbarians? No because we have a 7 year old muscular chest piece already. And one smooth chest piece with no muscle detail at all. This is just things I am coming up with on the spot, off the top of my head. If someone was paying to to do research and draw concepts I could do a lot more. Plus LOADS of possible tattoo options that could be used for both genders.

Actually, that is exactly what is going to happen now. Females will get everything males get, plus special unique things. And males will get nothing unique.
Quote:Our practices, discussed at great length and worked out with the Community, are: Unique pieces for females and everything else equally ported between the body types. Yes, this ends up resulting in more pieces for females overall, however after the last 12 months of reading feedback and lengthy discussion with the Community we made this decision.
It's very unlikely we'll alter course on this in the immediate future. -
Thanks for the support! Another thread about this topic I am starting to get grieved over the same argument. That men like to look good too.

Quote:Agree with all of this!I actually really, REALLY dislike how the body sliders affect female characters for the most part. Physique aside (that's just breasts and butt), almost every other slider just makes your woman "wider." But heavier-set women are not simply wider side-to-side, they are actually larger. You'll see this very clearly if you compare as upposedly big female character from this game with a big character from a game which actually supports this, like Saints Row or Lineage II.
Let's take the Waist slider, for instance. Yes, that makes your waist WIDER, as in it's bigger left-to-right, but it does not actually make it thicker, as in it's just the same thickness back-to-front. What this means is you have a woman with a very wide stomach when looked at from the front, but who still has that nasty curved spine and tiny little waist when looked at directly from the side. Neither muscles nor fat widen a waistline in this way. Muscles, especially, make the waist more rounded, rather than more elliptical.
Or how about the shoulders? If you widen your shoulders, you literally do just that - your shoulder joints pull out of your body and spread apart. The thing is, people who are said to have "broad shoulders" don't have that just because they have unusually long collar bones, but rather their shoulders are broad because their chest and rib cage are bigger. From behind, a broad-shouldered person with a big chest is very obviously different from a smaller person, and it's just not because one person's shoulder blades are farther apart than the other's.
I get that our models are hugely legacy and that messing with them in any way opens up a can of worms, but I feel it's high time we did something to fix up at least our basic skin model so it looks less like a balloon animal. Seriously. -
People like you are why men are given negative stereotypes. "Men don't care about the way they look". This is absolute crap.
Quote:I like cheesecake too. But unlike you, I am a man that actually cares about how he looks. I go to the gym, I do cardio and lift weights. I go shopping and I enjoy it. I like nice dress shirts, as well as creative graphic tees, designer jeans, a variety of shoes, different coats and suits and accessories. My closet ranges from from sharp and dressy to casually stylish. Because I want to look good.COH Artists and Developers: Please include VASTLY MORE costume pieces for female models than you do male models. More accessories, shoes, boots, and costume items. The more attractive, the better. Scanty is quite alright. Sheer and lacy items are wonderful. Cutouts are awesome. Shiny is fantastic.
Because I like Cheesecake, and I'm willing to pay for it!
I am a V.I.P. subscriber too. This does not make me special, nor you. The majority of players here have at least one V.I.P. account. Some friends of mine have two. And as a subscriber, I also pay for the costume options being made. As do all the other V.I.P.'s here. We all have opinions, and I am proud to say mine happen to differ from yours.
Quote:It's not that we're saying we have nothing, a lot of us are saying we're tired of the overly sexy costume pieces we keep getting.
So when I make characters, I tend to go with more "conservative" outfits. Yes I still have the "sexy" and "skimpy" outfits from time to time, but that's only if it would fit with the character's personality. For me, having sexy after sexy coming out leaves me with the same things to keep using, and it gets old.
I fully support as many possible costume options for BOTH genders. As well as a Huge Female body type. What I am really getting sick of, is the female costumes getting special treatment. I want more male equivalent costume parts. Give us a long jacket that has the detail and customization of the bolero, with a jacket tail that actually moves. Like that "old and busted" trench coat but with "new hotness" detail and customization. This fallacy that women have more fashion needs is just as insulting to me, as the overly sexy and skimpy outfits are to you. -
Quote:I like the theme, but the numbers seems to be off by popular opinion. I would be curious what the animations and fx would look like. As far as I am concerned, we can never have too many powersets. The more they produce, the more options we have, and the more unique things become. So given some balance issues, you would have my vote.Beltor mentioned it in yet another "Port Ninjitsu to Scrappers' thread when he pointed out that it could be used as the basis for a new set based on Bushido, or the code of honour of the samurai.
I thought I'd try a hand at making such a set (Although I doubt the devs will ever see it, sad to say) and figured I'd get some opinions back.
Level 1: Focused Senses: Toggle: Melee Def (14%), Def Res Debuff (17%). Costs 0.26/s
Level 2: Warning Senses: Toggle: Ranged and AoE Def (14%) Def Res Debuff (17%), +Perception (70%). Costs 0.26/s
Level 4: Samurai Rebirth: Self Heal (25%), Toxic Res (15%). Recharges in 60s.
Level 10: War Cry: PBAoE Defense Debuff (20%) for 30s. Recharges in 60s.
Level 16: Born For Victory: Toggle: +Res Stun, Sleep, Immobilize, Knockback, Confuse, Fear, Hold (Mag 10.38), +Res Dam All (7%). +Res Dam All for Each foe in range up to 10 (1.5%). Costs 0.26. (Taunt Aura if ported to Brutes/Tanks)
Level 20: Rally Cry: +Dam All to Self (10%) for 20s. PBAoE +Dam All to all Teammates (25%) for 20s. Recharges in 100s.
Level 28: Eternal Spirit: Auto: +Regeneration (25%) +Recovery (15%)
Level 35: Battle Reflexes: Auto: +Melee, Ranged and AoE Def (3.5%), + Def Res Debuff (17%)
Level 38: Fearless: +Def (30%), +Res All (30%), +Regeneration (+100%), +Recovery (+60%), +Dam All to Self (+60%) for 180s. After 180s -Endurance (100%), -Recovery (-10000%)
Edit: Fearless sounds like it would be the name of a mez resist power, and born for victory sounds like it would be a tier 9 power. Switch the names?
I would like to see something like this give us alternate stance with melee weapon power sets. Like the way ninja run does. Since it would be a blade defense set, make it look that way. I always thought it was weird that fighters with no shield hold their weapon leaving them wide open and unguarded. Some heroes might be "invulnerable" and not need to defend with their weapon, but others are mortal and need to protect themselves. -
For Simulator, I will give you an artificial piece of lint.

Not my favorite costume pack. But it's ok.

Quote:This is true, and it has always bothered me. Mainly for the simple fact that in the "real world" women's fashion has always had a better selection of options because (most) men don't care as much. I, on the other hand, care much more than the typical male. I have always been bothered by this bias in life. Now it has bled into my COH as well. But I read not to worry about the females special treatment because there are good things coming. So I suppose I will wait and see. A few male exclusive costume packs would brighten my dull canvas significantly. Not with things like armor sets or uniforms.
But more so with street clothes and historical clothes, then yes. Women get numerically more. Because woman usually wear more. Women layer more. Women have more diverse styles. Men just don't (usually) wear all the extra stuff women wear: shawls, belly shirts, corsets, skirts, etc...
Take skirts,e.g. Men have kilts. Women have dozens of styles of skirts. But they both get battle skirts (e.g., Valkyrie or Roman). What rankles me is that men don't have shorts. But when men do get shorts, there's no need for a dozen styles.
The comedian Elaine Boozler tells this joke in her stage act about how men and women differ and to show how they differ, she claims men won't even get this joke: "I was shopping with my boyfriend and I said I needed a new pair of black pants. And he said you already have a pair of black pants." The women in the audience laughed because they got the joke. If you don't get the joke, then you should back out this debate, because you just don't get how differently women actually use clothing in reality.
Just compare the average woman's closet to a man's closet. Woman have more costuming needs. And that's a fact.
Thus, forcing an equality based on simple numerical equity is just wrong.
And this is me making this argument who was spearheading the gender bias charge for years here. It's not about numbers. -
Quote:That is cool, maybe next time you can port over the Carnival of Light masks and head options, and sash belt, etc over to male and large? I would never complain about having access to costume pieces, but it is a bit ridiculous how female has SO MANY more costume options than male. Now you are giving them even more things? That is fine, but I would like some balance please. More ports to male and huge!!!Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I am very excited to bring to you something that you have been asking for, for a long time...
By some small miracle I had some spare time in my schedule in this milestone. So rather than spend the day twiddling my thumbs, I have ported the following Costume Pieces over to female:
Misc Jackets- Baron Jacket
- Baron Jacket with Vest
- Steampunk Jacket
-
Quote:This is a good point. They kinda got that backwards, huh. This just reinforces my decision to buy the bow only. And unlocking the existing costume pieces to save points for better stuff in the future. I bet they are cooking up some very cool stuff for us very soon! This actually brings up a question of logic I want to address to whoever is in charge of deciding what goes into each pack. You claim you want to keep some things exclusive to the ITF, yet you leave out weapons that have nothing in the slightest to do with the ITF. All the Broadsword options aside from Romulus Sword and Nictus Sword are tied to a defeat badge for Cimeroran Traitors which you can earn in two or three missions from Marcus Valerius without ever touching the ITF. All of the Roman axes are tied to the same bade, as are the shields.
So to keep ITF-exclusive items ITF-exclusive, you restrict items that are not ITF exclusive, yet include an item which IS ITF-exclusive. Because I can't get the Nictus Shield without running the ITF twice, but I can buy that from the Roman pack, or as a standalone piece.
What kind of sense does that make? -
Quote:Well I see your point. Basically people are just paying for the convenience of being able to wear the Roman costume pieces on all characters from lvl 1. And many people will do this I am sure. But I enjoy the ITF so I will just unlock it so I will save my points for some much cooler things coming in the future. So I have to agree with Doctor Roswell.Main reason: They were intentionally left out to maintain some exclusivity to the Imperious Task Force (ITF).
Players can normally obtain/unlock the Roman Costume pieces for free in-game, but this has to be done PER character by completing the ITF. The purchase of this bundle allows players to unlock many of the main costume pieces for all other characters on your account without having to do the Task Force.
Quote:This confused me too. We have the new bow, and the shields -- even the swirly purple Romulus Nictus one -- but that's it? Why no weapons? If I want those I still have to wait until level 35 and run an Imperious TF... and that would unlock the whole mess anyway!
The Cimeroran Imperious Legionarii chest piece, gloves and boots:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Imp...legionarii.jpg
The Sybils robes and belt:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Sister_Solaris.jpg
Then I would definitely invest some points in it. As it stands now, I will just be buying the bow and saving my points for better costume sets to come that aren't already in the game as free unlockable pieces. I will be running ITFs for the weapons anyway. -
