Anything more you could tell us about the leaders of Vanguard would be appreciated--More on their backgrounds, the exact nature and origin of their powers, etc.. So far we've only got a little bit in their character description and the sparse info you can get about Lady Grey and Serpent Drummer from the MA interface and that doesn't even seem to list those cool spirit animals among SD's powers! Why not add all 7 Vanguard Leaders to MA? By the way, they need a catchier name, maybe the V7?

I'd like to know more about the Kheldians, especially how the merger with the host actually works.

EDIT: Ok, found the thread where Manti is REPLYING to these... might want to link that thread in the initial post For the most part this question is answered, however what about aging on the host? I thought I read somewhere that the host is granted great longevity? I mean what's the benefits to being a host, or is it really just "kewl powerz"?

Is the Incarnate origin only limited to Grecian dieties and only from the well? Or are there Incarnates from other pantheons?

A Nemesis world, is that our "steampunk" world option? (map was hitech when I visited)

Is there anything more specific about the Children of Enos that can be revealed at this time? They play such a significant part of the backstory of the Rogue Isles, but, aside from a few vague mentions, really aren't elaborated on much, aside from being demon worshipers from France.

What the heck, I'll ask these questions anyway. I MUST KNOW!

  • When Positron was still trapped inside his armor, did he need to eat? And if so, how did he dispose of the resulting "hazardous materials"?
  • Having feline DNA, does Mynx(and by extension, the Praetorian Bobcat) display any of the REALLY annoying cat traits like scratching the furniture, being indecisive when it comes to going outside, killing and bringing small animals into the house, or yowling for hours on end when she's 'lonely'?
  • Have there been any incidents where a Portal Corporation employee finds a TV show, movie, book or video game that does not exist on Primal Earth, brings it back, and uploads it to the Internet? If so, what happened next, legally speaking?

Answer: The Nictus have been around for a very long time. They have their own agenda regardless of their current allies. Several years ago many Nictus chose to side with the Council as they took over the 5th Column from within but the recent rise of Reichsman has certainly put the Council’s power base at risk. The Center, the leader of the Council, has a long standing alliance with the Nictus but history teaches us that alliances are rarely permanent.
Why would the Nictus side with the Council to take over the 5th when Requiem(AKA the Dirge of Entrophy) was leading the 5th, so they controlled it already and if they wanted the 5th in the council for access to it would have been alot easier to tell him to join rather than have a wasteful fight.

During the Peacebringer story arc that you get from Sunstorm, you can find a few letters from Requiem wherein he implies that Arakhn (the current leader of the Nictus) has feelings for the Center, which is likely why the Nictus ended up siding with the Council.

But then Arakhn and Requim lead a rebellion against the Council towards the end of the warshade arc...so Arakhn joined just to rebel a few years later.

She never actually assassinates the Center, however, so there's at least something going on between the two. As for taking over the 5th Column, it's likely that she simply wanted control over Requiem, rather than serving under him. She is, after all, the leader of the Nictus.

Granted, there is probably some more stuff going on behind the scenes. It's evident from the letters that Requiem, the Center, and Arakhn have known eachother for quite a while, now.

The real question is... "how did Nemesis benefit from the 5th column losing, or was he behind breaking Reichsman out of prison to help nullify the Center-Council-5th Column-Nictus-factions, stop the time traveling, and generally have a ball in the eighteenth century (as no one puts on formals these days like he remembers them)?"

One thing I've been a bit curious about lately are the Ascendant soldiers of the Council. Apart from being the "praetorian guard" for the Center in the same manner that the Bane Spider Executioners are for Lord Recluse, is there anything else you can reveal about them (how they're chosen, what training they undergo etc) that isn't mentioned ingame?

I have a question about how our characters interact with the canon. Especially in the 40+ story lines, the game seems to heavily imply that our characters are on a level with the great figures of the canon, including (especially in their respective Task/Strike Forces) Statesman and Lord Recluse themselves. Is it proper to think of high-level characters as peers of the Freedom Phalanx and the elite of Arachnos, or are these rare moments of glory flukes and, in fact, player characters are intended to serve more as sidekicks to these figures?

Woo hoo! New answers up http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...84&postcount=8

Manticore answered my question!

Quote:
Question: What's up with Valkyrie’s spear? It seems odd to have an advanced technological spear just sitting around. Are there more artifacts like this around? Where did they come from?
Answer: The spear that started Valerie Kellum’s career as a hero is an artifact from the violent alternate world of War Earth, which also happens to be the homeworld of the Praetorian known as Battle Maiden. It’s very possible that there are more such weapons hidden on Primal Earth waiting to be uncovered.
New question time:

Are there any details about space that you want to talk about? Not the moon, but further out, alien civilizations/worlds/races that aren't another dimension, cosmic entities and the like.

Ok, not sure if this question was already asked or not but... Since a Kheldian merging with a human seems to be permanent until the death of the human part, what happens when they are pulled apart? What would happen to the human host if the Kheldian part was killed off? They pulled Altered Umbra out of Lars Mendelson, and they were Shadowcatcher no more... And Lars Mendelson seemed to be quite troubled by what happened.
On a second question... When a Human/Kheldian have children with another human what´s the result? And if they both are part Kheldians? Can part of the Kheldian powers pass to the child?

*wanders back onto the thread*

Damn, it's nice to see that there are this many other people who actually follow the canon and ask questions and want to know more about this world we run around in. Sometimes I wondered if it really was just me.

I swear, I think Paragon Studios could hire a half dozen writers/mission designers SOLELY for stories that back-fill canon stuff and players would just go nuts for it.

Believe me, I keep applying every time I see "Mission Designer" appear on the Jobs listing. They keep telling me "no."

Okay, here's one that's been bothering me for some time. Apparently, in order to be a member of the Freedom Phalanx, your secret identity is required to be made public. Statesman's justification is that it helps citizens trust them more easily, but it doesn't take Lord Nemesis to come up with the idea of booby-trapping their homes or endangering their friends and family on a daily basis. That seems like the kind of thing that'd make people appreciate the presence of superheroes LESS.

My question is, how many lives have been ruined or even lost because of this ridiculously naive policy?

Or conversely, what has the Phalanx done to deter people (supervillain or otherwise) from exploiting said public knowledge?

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

BaBs is old enough to be retired

Citadel is a Robot

Manticore's Parents are dead

Numia is dead, her dad's skull is in the midnight club and her mother is unmentioned

Positron was probably to much of a workaholic to really have a family life

Synapse was in Crey's experiments for quite a while so his family may be gone

States is old enough that most of his close relatives are gone, and anyone related to him is too distant to really know and his closest Family is already super-powered.

Psyche is kinda in the same boat as States, she is old enough that most of her closest family is likely out of the picture anyways.

I have a question!

Quote:
Question: Galaxy and Quantum units (especially Void Hunters) are made from N-Fragments which are either broken-down fragments of weak Nictus or fragments made through other means. Is this solely a Nictus thing or are the Peacebringer Kheldians capable of the same "fragmentation"?
Answer: It is theoretically possible to break down and implant a chunk from a Peacebringer into a human but it would take some sort of extreme circumstance for such an occurrence come to pass. The ramifications for the Peacebringer and the subject would be unknown and of grave concern to any ethical scientist in Paragon City or beyond.
Regarding this. I have a character, a Peacebringer, who early in her career was captured by a Nictus scientist and experimented on. During this, he implanted an N-Fragment into her which had some thoroughly unpleasant consequences.

Is this feasible canonicly? If so, what sort of consequences could be reasonably expected?

The result would be one of two things.

This...

...or perhaps this.

Okay, this might have been asked before, but I haven't the patience to read through all of the thread at this moment, so here goes;

When did the Devouring Earth show up for the first time, and could you expand a bit on their background?
