Power Suppression
Yes. Yes they would. The fact that the buildings themselves often cause lag just because of the different level of detail on them (the transparent windows, etc) when there's nothing but spines exploding, fire auras crackling, the occasional hasten noise... it's a messy, messy shopping experience, you're right.
I'd love there to be full suppression in both areas. /signed.

I'm all for Wentworths (and for the Black Market as well, but only after moving them indoors/underground/anywhere but out in the open), but the AE buildings won't have it outside of Studio B.
Remember that people are entering and exiting missions there as well. I agree with you on how annoying it can get and do try and turn off my more obnoxious toggles when I exit. But for people popping in and out a blanket power suppression may not be the best thing.

I would like to have an alternate data stream for AE's Studio B (so that people who want power suppression don't have to ever leave Studio B), otherwise leave the building as-is.
I am all for putting suppression fields up for BM/WW, though I agree with Oldeb to move the BM indoors (like WW, not like the origin stores heroside) before doing so. A warehouse would be fine. (Some BMs would need to be moved to do so.)

Ah, I hadn't thought of the "mission entrance" aspect of the AE buildings, actually. Yeah, that's kinda sad.
Maybe if they moved ... no, lol the buildings are gonna stay that way ... i was going to say maybe if they relocated the mission entrance and the contact holos a bit. It would be better if they had the holos and the entrance around the outside, and that way anyone coming in through the 'core' would be in a null zone. It'd have to literally switch where everything is inside out though, so lol no.

All that's really needed is a few Drones around the markets, and it will be completely safe for Power Supression. It's such an obvious answer, I don't understand why it's never been done. The only possible drawback is you'd create a "No-Fly Zone" that would kill any travel powers, but there are two ways around that...
1) Selective supression. Fly, SS, SJ, and TP are unaffected.
2) The players will just get used to it, and steer clear. It's really not that hard to adjust. As long as the range of the supression is reasonable, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

[/ QUOTE ]The markets (WW and BM) already have a kill-field that is many times more efficient than drones.

Yes but the kill-field only kills enemies... it doesn't tell players to turn off their toggles.

I suspect, though, that because Wentworth's, the Black Market, and the main areas of the AE buildings aren't on separate maps like Pocket D or the Studio inside AE, that it may be more difficult than we think it is.
Is there anywhere in the game with power suppression that isn't on it's own, separate map?
Studio B?

I don't know of any constant ones. But the Devs seem to be able to turn it off and on as something like an AoE toggle. I've seen both Ghost Widow and BaB turn suppression on during different events. It certainly didn't seem to be affecting those who were far away from them.

The closest is the anti teleport fields found in certain maps with a prison room.
Personally, this would be extremely annoying to me. I could really care less about things like Quills, Blazing Aura, or Shadows Fall, etc.. But for travel powers it would just annoy me like crazy. I use my travel powers all the time and having it detoggled every time I get into one of those areas would just really bug me.
/signed for all toggle powers except travel powers, but if thats not possible then /unsigned

I actually did at one point, right before spawning in a Blue Mito.
Kicker is, you guys still managed to kill it!
I'm NEVER listening to another complaint about nerfed powers again!
GRIEFER!
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict

Blue mito's aren't exactly damage machines.
Suppression around a cluster of two yellows, two greens............ That would be griefing. Possibly killable with the right eight toons, (1 wp tank, 2 emps, 4 domi's, and ideally a blaster) but..............
/100% completely signed to power supression at the markets. i cant say how many times i've lost small fortunes due to peeps commin up to the bm with shadow fall and all their pets out.
If you really have that much of an issue with lag in those spots you should probably either upgrade your computer or downgrade your graphic settings.
/signed to the power suppression at Went/BM.
Not so sure that theres a problem at the AE building. There's already a room set up that has power suppression in it. The OP can use that and he won't have any lag from active powers.
Alternatively the OP can simply go to an AE in a different zone. For example everyone knows that Atlas is a social hub where you can always find characters of all levels. Naturally that AE building will be crowded.
I don't understand why it's only that one room that has Power Suppression thought...well...I guess besides QQing RPers that need to fly at all times...

I don't understand it either. I would have put the suppression field in the main room if I were on the dev team, but there may be a reason for it we don't know about.
please please please...
After being on COH for a while now... i would like to suggest, not only for annoyance factor, but also attributed to lag in game, that Power Suppression should be used inside Wentworths AND the recently added Architect Entertainment Building.
Its not so much the CLICK powers in Wentworths, its the toggles (Auto Hit powers, Heals, Spines, etc etc.) The constant sounds of these can get annoying while you peruse through the Wentworths Experience. Besides, we have to hear the same sounds while in mission, much less while we are shopping.
Also, with the newly added Architect Entertainment Buildings in every Non Hazard Zones... they are quickly crowded. With powers on and glowing it creates LAG and slows gameplay. While in the AE building, there are no reason to utilize your powers as there is no threat.
Just these two SLIGHT changesd DEFINITELY make Paragon City much more friendly to visit and stay a while.
Dont lie begging for that which you can stand to earn.
