I don't understand why it's only that one room that has Power Suppression thought...well...I guess besides QQing RPers that need to fly at all times...

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't understand it either. I would have put the suppression field in the main room if I were on the dev team, but there may be a reason for it we don't know about.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, it'd suck if you had to reapply all your toggles in between missions wouldn't it?

Posted

No. I turn them off any way when I summon my Mercenaries upon entering every mission.

Is there anywhere in the game with power suppression that isn't on it's own, separate map?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know of any constant ones. But the Devs seem to be able to turn it off and on as something like an AoE toggle. I've seen both Ghost Widow and BaB turn suppression on during different events. It certainly didn't seem to be affecting those who were far away from them.

[/ QUOTE ] They should have turned it on for ten second bursts during the recent event with all the monsters and AVs.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually did at one point, right before spawning in a Blue Mito.

Kicker is, you guys still managed to kill it!

I'm NEVER listening to another complaint about nerfed powers again!

that is crazy talk babs we all know you love reading our complaints about nerfed powers.

Devs not listening? Really?

I'm all for Wentworths (and for the Black Market as well, but only after moving them indoors/underground/anywhere but out in the open)...

[/ QUOTE ]

I always thought it as funny how the Black Market was in a highly visible location. Never placed under an awning, in an alley, or inside a building (like Cap's Sci & Tech stores). Just... a "hrrmmmm."

Well... it wasn't pets, so much. Some folks figured out a few other tricks.

After being on COH for a while now... i would like to suggest, not only for annoyance factor, but also attributed to lag in game, that Power Suppression should be used inside Wentworths AND the recently added Architect Entertainment Building.

[/ QUOTE ]

God no.

I would actually like to see Power Suppression removed. I want AutoCast to work again. Its bad enough already that I have to constantly force Hasten and every other auto power to fire because it wont.

the LAG i am talking about is the same level as a rikti raid in atlas... some folks never get a chance to actually DO anything simply becasue of the LAG from all the action. THAT is almost unavoidable.. it takes away from GAMEPLAY... but in a SAFE environment, such as WW and AE... there is no use for someone to lose connection to mapserver due to all the toggles that a toon doesnt need to have activated.

Travel powers are fine... its the auto hit toggles that cause the annoyance and lag.

Dont lie begging for that which you can stand to earn.

And you are one of the reasons why we want power suppression. There's no reason to be using those powers inside Went/BM or the AE building.

You still haven't answered why you can't use the room in the AE with power suppression in it.

(and yes I know I'm arguing both sides of the suggestion.)

As has been said before, use the AE in a different zone. I've used the one in Faultline several times and there is never anybody there.

As for why the powers should not be suppressed. At least twice now in an AE mission I've been in a group that got aggro as soon as they entered the mission. It's not supposed to happen but it does. And it sure is nice if your defenses and mez protection are actually working when that happens. Or if you've got your stealth power up so that the aggro doesn't happen at all.

Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

Posted

Ok. I'll buy that explanation. I hadn't encountered aggro in that fashion myself but I can believe it happens on occasion.

Mandu do you know if players on the same AE team can enter the same mission from different AE buildings/zones?

If they can that's another reason the OP can simply change zones. He doesn't need to be in the same zone as the team he's on.

Let me clarify something... if I want to CREATE/Author a Mission arc, i do utilize the Studio B. But if I want to PLAY or TEST a mission/arc, i must use the Main room of the AE building. This is where the lag occurs becuase of the toggles and sometimes just the sheer amount of People looking for teams, etc etc.

To answer you other question... As of present, all members of a team must be in the same zone to enter mission. I would love it if I could be in KR while the rest of my team is in Atlas or PI. But unless you recruit your team via tells or Coalition, it would be more difficult to get a team going.

I'm no Mandu, but I know that once you set an AE mission, it's locked into that zone's "Data Stream". So if the Leader sets the mission in Atlas, the team has to go to the Atlas AE building to run the missions. Same for any other zones with an AE building where the team is running AE missions.

Thanks for clarifying that question I had. That adds a level of inconvienence to starting AE missions.

Also thanks to the OP for clarifying. Mandu already pointed out a valid reason I wasn't aware of for having powers activated before entering the missions, those two answers pretty much resolve any objections I have.

While we can still choose to use a lesser populated AE building I'll drop it and leave that as an option for players that choose to recruit people from across zones in a similar fashion to forming TF's.

I'd sign on both AE And Wentworths... On the condition that the power suppression could be contained inside the buildings.

I'd hate to be flying over it at a massive height and just starts falling for no reason. =-3

It should be possible. You actually zone into the AE buildings unlike the markets which you don't click to enter and are actually in the zone itself.

Let's see Power Supression turns off Players's powers but leave AI controlled critter's powers intact. Masterminds can spawn AI controlled critters. But flagged as friendly to players. So MM can lord over the powerless. At least until their henchman get splatted.

And a Blue Mito? Pfft. A MM or 3 can take one down no problem. Now a Yellow Mito on the other hand... >;-)

amen

detoggle all powers but travel powers in went worths, besides something im just flying through checking to see if anything sold

zoom
nope no sells
zoom out

id hate to have to walk out after a 3 second check for nothing

now in AE

Defensive powers should be on, (shields, steath, shadow fall, dispursion bubble etc) but pulse powers (healing aura) and travel really don't need to be on in the big room.

I can't see the defensives, though... Since those are the ones everyone complains about. Shadowfall creates a half-ton of black particles at your feet, the various force-field bubbles make little bubbles around each character.

It's an exponential growth of pain in the neck.

Alternatively... How about 'only affecting self' while inside AE or Wentworth's?

that works or een turn of the GFX but not the power

it's just when your hopping missions you want your defenses up if the door is hot.
