You all massively fail for not posting this idea yet (except Ex Libris)

Reporter MUST be one of the day job options.

Edit: Also, I don't think the Architect would work, at least not with the SG base as the location; as it stands, if you log out there, you are booted back out the main portal.

Now, NEXT to the base portal on the maps might work.

Was thinking reporter as I was reading. Suggested location: next to a newsie.

I'll admit it, I chuckled

Maybe logging off in Went's for about 60 days of inactivity will negate 5% of the funds Went's takes away for about 2 hours of gameplay on your character o.o

Maybe call it "Patron of Wentworth's"

Same would go for the Black Market, except for the Black Market it would be "Inside Dealer"

I posted this as a lone suggestion yesterday but now that there's a thread for them here's a couple ideas for day jobs:

While looking through the list of the new day jobs I had an idea for another one, Explorer. Players would work at this day job by logging off at the unique, off-the-beaten path areas in COX. Places like the Developer's Dungeon under Grandville or the Cryptic Lounge in Faultline. As for the reward, perhaps have all of the "fog of war" clear from the map when you enter a zone. I know it's not as potent a reward as the others but it seems to me something an explorer might want.

Also some PVP day jobs might be interesting. Log off in a PVP zone and start earning a temp TP power that ports you to the PVP zone of your choice. Log off in an arena and start earning a temp TP power that ports you to the arena of your choice.

It is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Some of my toons never leave PvP zones (unless I need to buy BFs). It would be nice to get some bonuses/accolades for logging out in the arenas and PvP zones. +Damage, +HPs, +Mez, +Mez Resist, Tp foe resist, +Perception, etc...something useful in PvP (they could be PvP only bonuses).

Folks should note that many of the day jobs known to date involve being inside of a place I.E. you are transported somewhere other than the surface geometry via a door. Others involve being within the radius of active ingame objects - I.E., drones.

This suggests that there are limits on where the game can detect you are logged out. It's easy (relatively speaking) to know that a character is logged out at "Steel Canyon, 345,042,97 facing SSW", but it's much harder to know that "Steel Canyon, 345,042,97" is a beach, or next to a dumpster, or anything like that.

It also needs to give the victim that flies aura like the Vahzilok wasting disease.

[/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps the "lady of the night" will have the flies aura when she/he uses the power "Give Disease" and it goes away after visiting any hospital

I'd like a lawyer at some point. But I'm not sure there are any Courthouses or Law Offices.

Villain:
Tabloid Reporter: Log out in the Crey's Testing Facility in Nerva (the one with all the caged DE and Freakshow).

Hero Day Jobs-
Gardener/landscaper- Logging off in perez. Tiny resistance to toxic (and hamidon!) damage.
Playboy/girl- Logging off while standing on immobile pleasure yachts
Gambler- logging off in/near arenas OR monkey pit
Pumpkin Farmer- Logging off in pumpkin fields in croatoa.
Fire Inspector- Logging off near 'burnable' buildings in SC
Plant employee/foreman- Logging off in Terra Volta
stevedore/wrangler- Logging off in independence port.

BTW- anyone else notice that the new uniforms make you look a LOT more like one of the village people than actual police?

Can we have some LONG sleeved shirts please?

As for my suggestion, could you open up some of the police stations in other parts of heroside? I noticed that the Skyway police station(behind Westbrush), which used to be open when you first introduced radio missions is closed now.

Also, Atlas and Galaxy both have police stations, of which I'm certain that the Galaxy one's door does not open, it's somewhere between BaB in there and the Kings Row entrance. Speaking of which, I'm no longer sure if you can enter the north end Kings Row police station. Pretty sure it was available at one point. Those are all the one's I can think of off the top of my head, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the other stations that don't have any policeband detectives are probably closed as well.

I wonder if part of this has to do with the Kings Row's and Skyway's PD stations being a part of the safeguard police station rescue mission.

I'll make a couple of the same suggestions I've made before.

- High School Student. (Yes, we need some high schools too.)

- Membership in villain factions (such as Freakshow, Council and Sky Raider bases in Sharkhead, and Carnival base in St Martial).

A lot of great suggestions here, and I will only add one:

Reduce the time to attain these badges to 10-15 days.

I wonder why nobody have suggested the following:

E.L.I.T.E Agent

G.I.F.T Ambassador

M.A.G.I Investigator

D.A.T.A Operative

S.E.R.A.P.H Researcher

You would get them by logging out in the appropriate office in Galaxy City or Atlas Park.

Hero For Hire - log out near any of the Hero Corp contacts.

[/ QUOTE ]

Logically, each would be a flavour version of the other. You would get whichever would fit your Origin, and only logging out in your specific category would count.

Infiltrator is a badge already.

SPEDIT: Silent Sentinel is one as well.

What I had in mind was that you should get the corresponding inherent attack as a reward for each origin. These attacks would then improve further as you kept working at them, to become fully-fledged useful attacks even for high-level usage. Your original origin attack would become even better.

As a Hero For Hire you would be able to change your difficulty setting at increasingly cheaper rates.

There's a better spot for that one. Two better spots, actually. One in Faultline, one in Grandville.

As for the advantage it gives? Hummm, maybe a bit if Inf when you die? And Accolade it with the graveyard day job to give you a temp power (max of 5 charges, maybe?) that teleports you to the middle of a random PVP zone (that you can enter, that is). If not a PVP zone, how about Monster Island? Accolade: Glutton for Punishment.

Also, can we get something like a Socalite day job for logging out in either Gemini Park or the grassy area outside of the Golden Ginza? (Many Virtue RPers know the areas I'm talking about.) I don't know what the advantage would be, but you could then accolade it with the Pocket D Day job. The accolade (Drama King/Drama Queen) could either give you a few charges of a power that gives a small amount of EXP per use (like you get for finding an Exploration Badge), or unlock a special emote.
