How about Jet Packs, can we have Jet Packs please?
My Lego Models http://www.flickr.com/photos/30369639@N07/ lemur lad: God you can't be that stupid... I'm on at the same time as you for once, and not 20 minutes into it you give me something worth petitioning?
Lady-Dee: Hey my fat keeps me warm in the winter and shady in the summer.
Costumes look great! Too bad you have to make people jump through hoops for you to get them , though. Roll over. Play dead. Now beg. Beg. Good doggie.

Okay, speculation:
It will not be co-op.
It will be smaller than you're thinking, on the order of the existing Ouroboros story arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is rather odd that the thread title mentions Roman 'maps' rather than a Roman zone.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Midnight Squad will have bases in existing zones like the Vanguard, and you will use their Ouroboros crystal to go on missions in ancient Rome.
Please try my custom mission arcs!

I just love the new ideas, thank you for your continued imaginations and for developing mine
One question regarding the new VEATS and use of costume pieces from Arachnos. Do we get to make costumes identical to Arachnos uniforms if we wanted?
The main costume I really really want and have wanted since they arrived in game are the silvery/gray Fortunata's costumes. But will we have bum capes ? (Or butt capes in US English )
And finally, you know the "Exclusive" Arachnos capes we got for the DVD edition of CoV ( I think it came with that). Well I think they should "stay" exclusive. It is my opinion though and I'm very sure others will disagree but the exclusives we got for pre-orders are now universal. Some of us like having extras because we supported the game more.
I realise it was my choice to buy the extra packs/DVDs and add ons but I think that certain exclusives should stay that way.
I also believe that Vet rewards shouldn't be purchasable. I know that opinion won't be supported by a number of people but I waited 4 years to get mine.
There are plenty of costume options and power options to make your characters unique and if one of the Vet rewards enables you to make a character that you really want to make, then wait till you've played long enough to get that reward. They are there as a reward for time playing as well as amount paid to play that long. Taking out the "time" element, cheapens the value of the rewards benefits.
But I suppose that if bum capes were a year away or longer for me, that I'd not be too happy about it BUT if it was important enough for me, it'd encourage me to play long enough to get them.
And THANKS again for all the great stuff you're giving us in the new issue. A 4 year old game that still feels this fresh to play, is amazing
It also comes across in all the Devs posts just how proud you are to work on this game. If I was younger I'd learn how to programme or draw just so that I could aim to work for CoX, as it sounds like a great place to work. Now I know 39 ain't too old to start a new career but I wouldn't be offered a green card by the time I got a degree as I'd be too old (Plus I'm disabled, which is a big no no for immigration)
Infamy, infamy, they've all got it infamy!!!
Jay, will we have access to the height scaler after character creation for each costume slot so that we can make transformative characters, much like the Hulk or Shazam? We could even romanize them if we need to for the height slider.

"And you'll never have to." - the Dark Knight
Love the sets...about time we saw these options in game. They were leaked around issue 9 or so .
COH/CoV - Virtue
8 Ball - Lev 50 Kin/Energy Defender
The Canadian Fist - Lev 50 Ice/EM Blaster
Omega Ghost - Lev 50 Robo/Dark MM
Ghostfall - Lev 50 Arachnos Crab Soldier
This is the stupidest idea I think the devs came up with yet...
Whatever happened to those surveys that they had the players fill out that actually had GREAT ideas on them?
(IE: lunar base, underwater zone, etc)
Vanguard costumes I understand, Arachnos Epic-AT costumes I fully support. Locking out Roman costumes? I groan. Not scream in rage! Not question anybody's intelligence. Just, just a little groan.
But I fully 100% support having a new mission/zone map to play on. Moar! MOAR!

Please, please, please not the Vanguard merit system.
Please?
But hot dog that they're there. Oh yes, they will be mine.

/SIGNED......and if we need to let's get a separate post going for eveyone oppsoed to this system to EARN the Roman outfits.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not opposed to 'earning' the costume parts, but I do think the Vaguard Merit system is too rough and pricey. It basically forces you to play the zone raid event about six times... even if your character would suck at the event.
Still here, even after all this time!

This makes me sad. That shoulder cape is one of the most obviously missing pieces in the game. Why can't we get it, and why would you tease us with a picture that implies we can
Cimerora looks beautiful, I don't see many/at all reused pieces of geometry and that's the most I could ever hope for. And besides that, it looks great too!
what would be really funny is tht vanguard and midnight were at odds and you can only join one or the other. talk aobut ticked off players

And here is the ONE thing that i don't really like so far.
Not the new zone or new costumes... pure awsome there..
It's the UNLOCKABLE part. I understand to an extent why it's unlockable, but really... no exesting heros i have would want/need these costumes... only new ones i'd make that may have a roman concept... but new heros would have to unlock them, thus running for 35 levels at least before i get them... meaning i'd need to make up a tempory look... then switch... yeah yeah yeah, not the biggest deal in the world I suppose... but it's the only think i find annoying ATM. and yes, waithing until 20 for capes and 30 for aura's bug me too, but I deal with it cause the game so far is awsome... just like i'll make do here... but i figured i'd still complain about it in the vane hope the devs may consider making it unlockable per account and not per hero. Hey, it never hurts to aks.

You know, the 'unlockable' thing put a huge stop to my general merriment over I12. I still don't have a full Vanguard set on any character.
I have wanted more Classical costumes since day one. If they must be 'unlocked', let it be like the Holiday options - complete a mission or an arc and get the piece unlocked. Please, do not make me farm badges.
I also think they should be opened up for the entire account.
In retrospect the devs dropped a hint in the Lazarus story arc. In the first mission with the fifth column one of the NPCs said "All I'm saying is that even Rome fell".
What it could be is Requiem is planning to resurrect the 5th column as a New Roman Empire.
I do hope it is a new zone and not just a series of instanced missions. Villains really need a place to street hunt 41+ arcane foes rather than the slim pickings of Grandville and RWZ.

Very nice new outfits in the screenshots. I am duly impressed.
I just hope a full set is easier to unlock than the Vanguard stuff. I still have yet to unlock a full costume - without being able to do ship raids the closest I've came is all but 2 pieces on my scrapper.

If I had to wager a guess, it's to include reference to both the zone and its custom mission maps (since most of the missions simply could not have non-custom ones, unless they were all Troll Caves).
Cimerora was leaked on the zone search list, after all..

Since the Midnight Squad/Roman content seems to be arcane themed, I'm just praying that the 'familiar threat' isn't the Circle of Thorns. Dear heaven I am so sick of them. I'd rather have Nemesis behind everything.
"Home is where, when you have to go there, they have to let you in."
Because the subject of anagrams will come up:
Cimerora = Rome Arc I
This suggests to me there's more Roman wackiness to come.
What do I win? More accurately who won the office pool, Posi?

Actually, I think it's possible they will be. From the announcement (emphasis mine):
[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
They're usually pretty good at saying 'heroes,' 'villains' or 'characters' if they mean something character specific. I think it possible that players can go through the arcs and unlock costume options they can use on their characters across the board.
If not... um... I don't think it's much worth mentioning as a big perk. So a L38 character gets a new costume option? I guess I could use that at 40, but by then don't I already have pretty solid costuming. And what, at 42 I can change one of my existing costumes? It's not that that's a bad thing, but I don't much see the point to crowing about it.
And if the system is as hard as the Vanguard one, then thanks but no thanks. I was actually into the vanguard costume thing when I started -- I had a character I'd redefined as having gone solidly into vanguard and the fight. And then, when I got through large amounts of content and had earned a helmet or something, I lost interest. It's not like this gave me in-game buffs or anything, so why grind it?

I couldn't pre-order, living in the UK and playing on US servers (as you seem to, so I'm wondering how you went about it...)
What I did was pay NCSoft directly on release day for both CoH and CoV, so they got every single cent of the money, no middle-man shopfront premium shaving off the profit, not even a box, manual or hard copy. Just a digital key. And certainly NO extras.
If that's not being rewarded for support, I don't know what is, frankly. I cost them less. I paid them more. But you can bet your [censored] if they'd made digitalkey downloads come with unique extras, the whining would be endless...
Question: Considering the backstory of CoH, and Statesman's origin, why was Rome chosen instead of Greece?
