Original Official Guide Post Editor for the update was Camo_Fire. Prior Guide Post Editors for the update were Muad_Dib, followed by Camo_Fire.
Updated to work with new forums, and currently maintained, by Kheldarn. Missing Guides Found and Typos Pointed Out by Twilight_Snow.

ATTENTION: DO NOT POST GUIDES IN THIS THREAD. If you have a guide, make a brand new post for it in the Player Guides section, and reply to this thread with the link.

For non-Brute guides, check the master list of all Guides in the Guide to Guides.

Failing any clear identifier from the poster, I will go by the original post date vs. Issue releases ([I1]: 6/30/04, [I2]: 9/17/04, [I3]: 1/5/05, [I4]: 5/5/05, [I5]: 9/1/05, [I6]: 10/28/05, [I7]: 06/06/06, [I8] :11/28/06, [I9]: 5/1/07, [I10]: 7/24/07, [I11]: 11/28/07, [I12]: 6/24/08, [I13]: 12/2/08, [I14]: 4/8/09, [I15]: 6/29/09, [I16]: 9/15/09) - e.g., if it was posted in March/05, it is an [I3] Guide.

This thread will be updated periodically based on new guide links that are added in response.

Updated 16 April 2010.

All the links should now bring you to the first post in each guide. I updated the user names of the authors of some guides. Twilight_Snow found the "missing" guides by The_Red (who is now runothered), Tempest_56, and Smurphy. I also added her FM/EA Guide.

The powersets are now in alphabetical order, and have an icon beside their name to help people who do better with a visual representation of a powerset.

With the exceptions of Claws and War Mace, every powerset now has at least two guides.

Issues are colored similar to the game's Consideration System: [I16] is white, [I15] is blue (cyan, actually, so that it will show up on the Hero skin), [I14] is green, [I13] is grey, and [I12] and all issues before it are black.

Hi,
First let me state that this is an opinion based upon my experience with the dark armor set. I disagree with the OP’ overall conclusion about survivability given how OG and CoF work, and stipulate that Fury issue has already been refuted. Is fury delayed with OG and CoF? Maybe. I have gone into mobs with them down just to get the Fury bar up, then toggled them “on” followed by Dark Regen to heal the damage I just endured.

Experience:
39 month player with 7 50’s
First DA toon was a brute, DM/DA.
Second DA toon was a scrapper, Spines/DA
Both are level 50.

Experiences with survivability:
Before OG, sucked.
After OG, OMG! What a difference. And IMHO you cannot argue survivability without considering this power. A comparison that leaves this out (irrespective of fury) is fundamentally flawed.

Cloak of fear – ugh the end cost
I do hope people who do run this are using it more for accuracy debuff. I only run it on my scrapper who went to the trouble of getting enough IO’s to improve recovery so that I could run both OG and CoF as much as I wanted to constantly. I am now considering getting IO’s for this for my Brute, but the cost red side is so intimidating.

Finally, let me say that I really enjoyed reading the OP’s post and thank them for the time and effort that went into writing it. I disagree with your conclusions about survivability and acknowledge your point concerning delayed fury building. But I would like to see the Dev’s back off the end cost of CoF and the accuracy penalty somewhat. I also would like to see a decrease in the end cost of Dark Regeneration. Why should it be such an end hog when it needs an accuracy check unlike other brute heal powers?

Just a quick side note:

Kua's "Guide to Energy Melee/Electrical Brute" is in the area labeled as "electric melee."

I'm pretty sure that isn't where it's supposed to be.

No, it's not, and this isn't the thread to discuss it if you think it is.
